00:00You waste your time my twin. You cannot triumph over a prototype. Here's a look
00:04at the Jada Toys. This is the Knight Riders Car.
00:20Jada Toys presents the Hollywood Rides Knight Rider Car 1982 Pontiac Trans Am.
00:26Features front scanning lights as well as side opening doors, front and back,
00:30hood and trunk. Far out. Far out. Now while John and Manny may have discovered car
00:35and kit versus car buried in sand, I didn't have to go in sand to find this.
00:39Actually I found this at Entertainment Earth. It was selling at the time for $27.99
00:43the 124th scale car which is basically the exact same remodeling of kit that
00:47we've already had a look at. Although it always seems to be the case when I
00:49recommend going to a site to pick something up. Yeah it's currently on
00:52backorder. Let's take though the tape measure and let's clock in how long car
00:57actually is. From the back of its bumper to the front of its bumper you're
01:00looking at car being yeah 8 inches in length or roughly about 20 centimeters
01:04long. The irony wasn't lost on me either that Peter Cullen provided the voice of
01:08car and while being a heroic Autobot he thought very little of human life when
01:11he was actually the voice of car. Speaking though of kit earlier, obviously
01:16car is gonna be the prototype model to what we eventually would get with kit.
01:20Now this is also as well the return of car. Because of that he also
01:25has now the gray paint down below. When car was first introduced into Knight
01:28Rider he essentially was the exact same model as kit and it was really hard to
01:32identify the differences between the two. Being that they are so identical to one
01:35another I'm glad that Jada chose to go the version 2 route of car instead of
01:39just the original. Now not only does the gray change on car but he also does have
01:43his sensor scanner on the front in a different color as well. It works the
01:47exact same way though as kit so if you're familiar with kit you're familiar
01:50with car. Essentially what it is is when you this is in the packaging the doors
01:53already open. It does tell you though that you can try the setting while it's
01:57still in box but unfortunately though what they didn't tell you though there's
02:00a strap right here that prevents the door from opening and closing. If you
02:03though you were to open and close the door you'll see that the sensor scanner
02:07on the front starts to move back and forth. Now this is also done in here in
02:12yellow. If we bring in kit for example, kit when you open it up not only did I
02:16notice though that the scanner moves faster on kit, clearly though kit is also
02:20in red, car is done in yellow. This stays only on for a very short period of time
02:24so you don't have to worry that the batteries are gonna drain. In fact while
02:26I'm talking away, yeah you can see, kit already extinguishes his light. The look
02:31the make of the model is exactly the same as well. It still has again like a
02:34Pontiac display that's this Pontiac design but one thing I do really like is
02:38the fact that now car does have the gray down below. They also did that I'm sure
02:41as well that in the show you could tell them right away who is chasing who. The
02:45gray down below is an owl welcome change for what we get here with car and
02:49again outside of really then the sensor it's a one way to tell right away the
02:52differences between the two vehicles. The build of the body is exactly the same.
02:56Unfortunately though one thing it also gets carried over from the original 124
03:00scale kits is the ugly looking license plate on the back of the car. For reasons
03:06unknown it just says Knight Rider on the back instead of actually saying car.
03:10Obviously there's no license plate here on the front of the vehicle but on the
03:13back you'd like to think that they could have had at least the license
03:16plate match something like kit. It doesn't even have kits it just says
03:19literally Knight Rider. It's a really ugly looking sticker as well. Also the
03:24bottoms of the bodies you can see they're exactly the same. The chassis
03:27look exactly the same. Car also does have similar to kit not I wouldn't say
03:32necessarily rubber tires but they're more of a softer plastic. The doors
03:37actually do open up as well. Now it's only really Joe the front driver side
03:42that does trigger though the sensor on the front. If you open up the other door
03:45for example I close this this will eventually again turn off in a second
03:51in a second and there we go. If you try to open it up on the other side though
03:54it doesn't trigger the sound it doesn't trigger the light effects. Speaking of
03:58the sound effects it though would have been nice if they could have
04:01incorporated some of the sound so it would have actually made the swishing
04:03sound. I'm not gonna do that though for the rest of this review. The interior
04:09though of car maybe what we'll do is we'll look at it from this side you can
04:12see the interior dashboard looks exactly the same. It only really has the
04:16light effects though on the front of the car it won't actually have it on the
04:19inside so you won't have the reverse a little meter that he has obviously kits
04:24would have been in red cars would have been in yellow. Has the steering wheel
04:27the steering wheel doesn't move or anything like that hopefully you guys
04:29can see okay. Sticker is nicely applied on the inside it basically has all the
04:34same switches all the same dials all the same features as kits. The interior also
04:38has very much exactly the same so again if you're looking at car you're looking
04:41at kits. I think like the seats are maybe just a lighter color on kits they seem
04:45to be more of a lighter beige although car you can see the interior of his car
04:49actually has it more of a yellowish beige but it looks to be exactly the
04:53same for an interior wise. One thing it also does open up as well as the front
04:57of the hood the hood opens up so you can see inside there's a nice sculpted
05:01motor. I love the use of the chrome that they've added in there as well I don't
05:04know if that's vat chrome or they just essentially cast this just in a chrome
05:07like a silver plastic. It's nice to be able to see that so obviously you've got
05:12the front of the hood that does open and close the side doors we already know
05:15does open as well but on the back of the car too you can actually open up the
05:19trunk. Now that's again no different really than kits so when we looked at
05:22kits, kits does also open up as well it's the exact same model. You know while we
05:27have gotten already now version two kits that have the additional I guess those
05:30are fog lights on the front of the bumpers I would love to see if they could
05:33release a version one kit that would have had just a regular bumper. I still
05:36feel like with the original release of car and somebody could certainly let me
05:40know down below in the comment section car I think when he was first introduced
05:43would have been using the version one Pontiac because I don't think it would
05:47have had the lights on the front which again was somewhat really weird then kit
05:50versus car the follow-up episode the return of car then would have then used
05:54the new bumper it really should have stuck with the original bumper again you
05:58can let me know if that's not correct down below the car does roll obviously
06:01very well it's got some good weight there too as well because there's some
06:05scenes obviously though if you're a big fan of Knight Rider and you collected
06:08already kit you'd have to get as well his foil car I don't know if they're
06:12gonna be planning to release any more kit inspired vehicles some of the ideas
06:16certainly I was already thinking about super pursuit mode kits I don't know
06:19again I like obviously they're gonna be basically using the exact same body they
06:22would just have to add the additional pieces that jet out the front or the
06:26sides of the car and obviously the front bumper would have to eject and then of
06:29course the back would have to fold up as well I mean Goliath would be a really
06:32welcome change as well I don't think they'd ever really consider doing
06:35Goliath they seem to kind of really stick to more car vehicles than truck
06:38vehicles but also the juggernaut juggernaut would also be a really cool
06:42vehicle basically what I'm basically just saying is like I would love to get
06:45some more Knight Rider cars from Jada toys I seem to be now more collecting
06:49into the 124th scale 124th is really an ideal size for me because again like I
06:53just don't have a lot of space I mean anybody knows following enough of this
06:57exploits of this humble reviewer this channel you'll know that there's so much
07:00stuff I've looked at here it's next to impossible to have everything on display
07:03with being that the case obviously collecting the 118th scale you get a
07:08bigger looking vehicle but it seems like it just obviously takes a whole lot more
07:12space and it seems also to that Jada toys focuses more on their efforts of
07:15the deep cut characters like a character like a car they seem to be doing that
07:19more in the 124th scale than they're doing that with the 118th scale that's
07:22why we've gotten well cars like for example of the mystery mobile and like
07:26why we mystery machine why we've gotten as well like the Freddy Krueger car that
07:29we see at the end of nightmare and Elm Street they seem to be doing a lot more
07:32than the 124th scale so if you want to kind of have more more collections of
07:36your cars on the shelves and I don't mean K A R R definitely I would consider
07:40going the route more of the 124th not only is better for your budget but it's
07:44better for your space as well one thing kind of also interesting about the first
07:47appearance of night automated roving robot or car for short if you prefer is
07:51that the first appearance of him actually he did have a red sensor not a
07:54yellow so not only did his return also give him a brand new model of body but
07:59he also had the yellow sensor that we're more familiar with now now I did mention
08:03this review I'd love to get a version one kit I don't feel the need that we
08:06need to get over itself as a version one car because again it's gonna be
08:09essentially the same but at some point I do hope that Jada toys considers to go
08:13back to the well of Knight Rider and maybe release a version one kit that's
08:17gonna have the pop-up headlights this version of car though is one of my
08:20favorite designs of the character I mean I guess if you look at it kind of a
08:23character standpoint and not just the fact that it's a vehicle car was
08:27obviously the foil to kit can't even the first parents when he sees car he says
08:31that could be my twin and while this one clearly isn't more of a twin it's
08:35clearly got enough identical features that are different from the original
08:39looked of kit one thing that's still a bit of a bummer is the fact that they
08:42couldn't get the license plate right if you're gonna spend the time to pick up
08:45the license like this you'd like to think that they could have actually had
08:48the license plate correct that it would have said kit for kids and in this case
08:52car for car if you guys are interested though to get your hands on car it's
08:56available I'd like to say it's available right now it is as a back order but it
09:00was at one point available at entertainment or for $27.99 I know it's
09:03been a car that's literally it's been a car that's been on my list for a while

09:11finally available I added it to my cart before car disappeared what do you guys
