00:00You gotta believe the clown signs his letters with hugs and killings.
00:04Here's a look at the McFarlane toys, DC Multiverse, The Joker and Punchline.
00:08Alexis Kay was a disaffected college student whose anger with the world she saw as falling
00:29apart around her made her for the perfect acolyte for the Joker's nihilistic philosophy.
00:34She wanted to prove to her hero that she was not merely an obsessing fangirl, but a potential
00:38partner in crime.
00:39She created her own version of the Joker toxin and killed her college dean with it.
00:43The Joker, watching on from insider wardrobe, was satisfied with Alexis, or Punchline as
00:48she called herself.
00:49She was up to the job of helping him in the next big plot against the Batman.
00:52I think the Joker's gotten impatient in his old age.
00:55He wanted to skip right through the joke and jumped right to the punchline.
00:58Before we get a closer look at the Joker and Punchline, let's take the tape measure and
01:02see how tall the figures stand.
01:03I grabbed this from Entertainment Earth.
01:05I know, it's been a set that's been sitting around for a while, and I finally pulled the
01:09trigger on it.
01:10It's always been a set I wanted to get, and I guess I was just waiting for the right time.
01:14Of course, now being the weird time, because at the time that we're doing this video, we're
01:17kind of in limbo at right now, the state of what McFarlane Toys is going to be with the
01:21DC Multiverse license moving forward.
01:23Still though, we're going to push forward because there's a lot of cool sets still out
01:26there that I haven't had the chance to pick up.
01:29As for though, measuring the figures, Joker and Punchline are about the same.
01:33In fact, the Clown Prince of Crime stands at 7 inches in height, or roughly about 18
01:37centimeters tall, and I think the same can be said for Punchline.
01:40Maybe if anything, she's a little bit shorter than that, but not by much.
01:43She's a hair shorter than being 7 inches, if I wanted to be correct though.
01:47She'd be about 17 centimeters tall.
01:49As for molds, Punchline's the only one that can really say she has her own.
01:53Joker borrows over his body, in fact, from the Infinite Frontier Joker.
01:56Different head sculpts, but still has the exact same bodies.
01:59Let's bring in a female figure.
02:00For this example, I'm going to bring in the Nightfall Catwoman.
02:03And while I'm looking at Punchline here, the new gal pal of the Joker, I can't help but
02:07though think that we haven't gotten a lot of Harley Quinns.
02:09Now, before you say we have gotten movie tie-in Harley Quinns, that's exactly the case.
02:13We've gotten a lot of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinns, but when you think about it though,
02:17we haven't really got a lot of comic Harley Quinns.
02:20You think though that being the original OG girlfriend of the Joker, more in Harley's eyes
02:24than the Joker's, you would think that we would have got a lot more comic Harley Quinns,
02:27but that doesn't seem to be the case at all.
02:30And while I think I can only count three Quinns, I can actually count a lot more accessories
02:34that come included with this set.
02:35Both Joker and Punchline, for that matter, come included with display stands, trading
02:38cards and knives.
02:40Backing that up a bit though, the figures do come included with identical, aw, isn't that
02:43sweet, his and her display stands.
02:45Good for when they're slashing others.
02:46The stands themselves are exactly the same.
02:48You can see as well, they do have matching DC logos.
02:50Aw, isn't that so sweet?
02:51Stop that.
02:52Peg holes placed on the opposite corners there, and of course these can attach to either one
02:56of their feet.
02:57Technically though, Joker really just could steal Punchlines and use both.
03:01Joker seems like one he would just hoard up a lot of display stands from other characters.
03:06The figures though also come included with his and her trading cards.
03:09Joker has his, Punchline has hers.
03:11The thing I like though about it is first of all, we get ourselves actual source material.
03:15We seem to have done away altogether with the idea of using figure photography, and
03:18I think that's not a bad thing at all.
03:20On the back though, I was kind of expecting it to have the readups being exactly the same.
03:24While the real name though for Joker is clearly N.A.
03:26The real name though for Punchline is Alexis K.
03:30The readup though actually is more specific to Punchline here.
03:32Joker gets again, just a generic Joker readup.
03:35I'm glad though again that we got ourselves unique readups for each of the individual
03:39cards.
03:40Want to look last look at the card?
03:42I think from at least taking it from the source material, I think they've landed a pretty
03:45good likeness to Punchline, and we're going to talk more about that in a moment.
03:49Then of course we also get ourselves knives.
03:52Big John says I've got himself a knife.
03:54Little John says I too also have myself a knife.
03:56We even need to start talking about Halloween movies anymore.
03:59The knives, if I was to go with sizes at least, I think that this one would be a little bit
04:03more accommodating to Punchline.
04:05Good for stabby stabby.
04:07Joker likes to have long swings with his knives, so he gets himself a much larger hunting knife.
04:11I think in fact this is the exact same knife that also Infinite Frontier Joker also had
04:15as well.
04:16So we're getting a lot of borrowed over samesies in that case.
04:19The figures of course can hold their accessories.
04:22Unfortunately one thing though about Punchline, you probably can already see that she has
04:25what seems to be a tangerine in her hand.
04:27I think that's actually a bomb.
04:29She only has really one serviceable hand for holding the knife.
04:32So it's really easy to actually choose which hand is going to be holding it, because you
04:35only really have one hand to work with.
04:38I do wish though that the figure, speaking of her orange, I know that's not an orange,
04:42what rhymes with orange?
04:43Apparently explosives.
04:44While it's nice that she actually comes included with one, it actually looks like the Green
04:48Goblin's pumpkin bomb, I do wish though that she could have come included with another
04:51hand as well.
04:53I mean I'm looking at the hand and I think it's pretty much similar to a style of hand
04:56that also the Catwoman had.
04:58I think I may have even had an extra hand for that Catwoman.
05:01I wonder if I could actually swap that out.
05:02I mean unfortunately I will be leaving off that O, that O's on the obverse, it's X's
05:07and O's.
05:08Aw, isn't that sweet?
05:10While I do wish though the figure does come included, or wish they could have come included
05:13with an extra hand.
05:14So it's not just this.
05:15It actually kind of looks like a ball of yarn, a ball of yarn, speaking of Catwoman.
05:20So let's just kind of get her to hold the knife for at least right now.
05:22Maybe what we'll do is actually we'll look at Joker.
05:25Joker not only will be looking at the figure, but I'll also go ahead and put the knife into
05:28his hands.
05:30The fingers themselves again are soft enough, at least in plastic, so you shouldn't have
05:34any issues whatsoever with Joker holding his knife.
05:36And boy oh boy does he ever love his knife.
05:38I would probably even say he probably loves his knife a lot more than the ladies.
05:42The knife itself also as well, I mean one thing that's also interesting about this Joker
05:47is that the original Joker also had a hand that was holding his eyeball.
05:51You didn't believe me?
05:52Let's bring in the Infinite Frontier Joker.
05:53Remember this one had the eye that he was carrying around in his hand for like a good
05:57luck charm?
05:58Because of course this Joker was missing his eye and his eye socket.
06:01This Joker, while still using again the exact same body, swaps the colors out though instead
06:05of having the lighter kind of lavender here and the green and black, changed it instead
06:10with more familiar Joker purples, a green vest and an orange shirt.
06:14Or I guess that would be more of a yellowish orange shirt.
06:17The lapels are exactly the same.
06:18The sculpting of the collars is exactly the same and if you're looking to look at the
06:22back of the figure and hoping that the tails would be different, no, no, they're exactly
06:25the same as well.
06:27Spats are also the same.
06:28They're just obviously going with more white instead of the gray.
06:31Because of course they're also using the exact same bodies, I mean you could also really
06:35to realistically take the head off of the Joker, which I haven't yet done and probably
06:40one of the reasons why I didn't end up doing it because the peg unfortunately was now sitting
06:43inside the cavity of the head.
06:45Oh boy, let's just pop the head back in place.
06:47The one thing though I did want to show you was because they are using the exact same
06:50bodies, it would stand to reason that you probably could easily pop this guy off and
06:55replace it over with this one if you wanted to use this body instead of this body here.
07:00This is still one of my all-time favorite Jokers.
07:02I love the color.
07:03I just love the face.
07:04I don't love that he's missing his eye, but everything else about this Joker lands it
07:07for me.
07:08This Joker, while still keeping a lot of that same formula in place, is really one of the
07:12best Jokers around.
07:14Now while being the punchline, being the fact that she's the rare figure of the set, the
07:18only time we've ever gotten a punchline, and Joker is getting again a lot of hand-me-downs,
07:22the head sculpt being unique to this Joker is definitely one of the best around.
07:26I mean you could really say the Silver Age Joker would be like a definitive looking Joker,
07:30but I would maybe even argue the point that if you're looking for one of the better looking
07:33Jokers, maybe source out this set, I mean especially looking at it from the side.
07:38It's one is certainly of the best profiles we've gotten from the Clown Prince of Crime.
07:42Coloring is really good around the eyes.
07:43Again, I just really like how he looks from the side.
07:47Really exaggerated hair on the back, high and green.
07:50It's just a perfect looking portrait here for Joker.
07:52Of course, let's go ahead and just take his knife out of his hand.
07:55I'm getting a little worried about him carrying around this.
07:57Of course, the body is going to be exactly the same.
07:59So if you're familiar with the poseability on this guy, you'll be familiar of course
08:02with the poseability on this guy.
08:03Head's going to be on a bulge, right?
08:05Head's going to rotate all the way around.
08:07Head looks up, the head looks down.
08:08The head can also move back and forth as well.
08:10I haven't yet tried this, but I wonder if you even could take maybe this head sculpt
08:14off and use it with the Silver Age Joker, if again you want to use that body.
08:18But you know, again, like there's enough here, at least of a classic Joker, that I'm fine
08:22to have this guy being my permanent fixture on my shelf for being like the go-to Joker
08:26for me.
08:27Yeah, the head's going to be on a bulge, right?
08:28So it moves really quite freely.
08:30Rotates all the way around.
08:31The head looks up, looks down, looks back, forth, all that stuff.
08:35Arms rotate also all the way around as well.
08:36You can get those easily in T poses.
08:39You figure it does have a swivel in the bicep.
08:42Nice double hinge on the elbow.
08:43Good hinge there.
08:44Hands also rotate all the way around.
08:45No extra hands get awarded the Joker, but at least he's not carrying around his eyeball,
08:49feasting his peepers over here.
08:51Upper torso's going to be on a bulge, right?
08:53Yeah.
08:54Legs are going to, of course, split out down below.
08:56Forward on the back, or I should say forward and back go the legs.
09:01Slight swivel at the top of the thigh, not by much though.
09:03Double hinge on the knee.
09:04And then again, you've got your ankle articulation up and down, ankle rocker.
09:08Yes, would you believe there is a Santa Claus Virginia?
09:11I haven't said that in a while.
09:13He does also have, again, toe articulation as well.
09:15Toe articulation as well.
09:18Really good looking Joker.
09:19Really good looking Joker.
09:20I mean, I think a lot of people probably will just end up picking up the set more with the
09:22idea of wanting to get Punchline because again, Punchline is the unique one to the set.
09:27But don't just think that Joker is simply just a hand-me-down pack-in.
09:31One of the better looking Jokers, one of the best Joker head sculpts around, and I certainly
09:34have looked at enough of them here on this channel.
09:37Again, let's go over to Punchline here.
09:38We'll go ahead and just take her stabby stabby out of her hands again.
09:41I just get a little nervous when I'm looking at that.
09:43Short of maybe again, I wish this figure could have come included with a swappable hand.
09:47It just seems to me like they put a lot of the budget into painting this figure.
09:51I mean, again, we go to the source material if you're not so familiar with Punchline.
09:54Right there you can see like a lot again, the original design of her gets carried over
09:58to this figure really decently too.
10:00If anything, I probably would have said maybe darken the skin tone just by a little bit,
10:04but the rest of the figure lands it for me.
10:07She does have again like the little rouge there on the sides of her cheeks, kind of
10:09giving that raggedy doll kind of look to her.
10:12She's got a little bit of a spot there on the end of her nose as well.
10:14Just a perfect looking Punchline.
10:16She also has the dye there on the top with a little bit of blue.
10:19She's got some dyeing on the back there as well for the ponytail.
10:21The ponytail though is a softer plastic.
10:24I would want to have said that there's some posability to this, but I feel like as I'm
10:27kind of rotating this, I feel like I'm probably starting to strip the plastic.
10:31So I'm not going to say maybe there's a little bit of posability, but I feel like it's that
10:36kind of posability that maybe may think that it moves a lot more than what it actually
10:40does and what you end up only just really doing is starting to strip the plastic, and
10:44I don't want to strip the plastic.
10:45No way.
10:46She does have again like this really nice looking shiny, I don't know what you would
10:50like.
10:51I don't want to say like it's like a plastic dress, what's that material that they use
10:54for like...
10:55It's not plastic.
10:56No, it's not pleather.
10:57Kind of the...
10:58Somebody's going to let me know down below in the comment section.
11:00It's like a vinyl dress.
11:02It's really shiny.
11:03I'll say that.
11:04I do like the panel line they've given to the blue there on the top.
11:06You've got some red down there as well.
11:09And again, it's little touches that she does have the X's and the O's there on her hands.
11:12Again, I just kind of wish that she could have come included with another hand.
11:15I know I've kind of just beaten that dead horse to death again and again.
11:18We don't need to keep mentioning that.
11:20She does have some nice rips though on the tops of her top.
11:22Down below there, she's got some rips there in her tights.
11:24X's and O's alternating on the opposite side here, and some nice blue striping down below
11:28here for her laces.
11:30The figure does also have high heels.
11:32And yet though, despite having high heels, I don't really seem to have an issue at all
11:35with punchline standing.
11:37Now, for the figure's articulation, pretty much similar to Joker, just with a female
11:40build.
11:41Head's coming again on a ball joint.
11:42Yeah, the head rotates back and forth, up and down, up and down.
11:46Upper torso.
11:47Yeah, ball joint there too.
11:49Swivel all the way on the arms.
11:50No issues there.
11:51You can easily bring again T-pose going there, T-pose action.
11:54Swivel there in the bicep.
11:55Double hinge on the elbow.
11:56Hands.
11:57No issues there at all.
11:58You can rotate them all the way around, really, if you want to.
12:01The legs do split.
12:02Now, when you're looking at the legs, she does actually have a split on the sides of
12:06her skirt.
12:07That's a lot of S's.
12:08Because of that, it does give the figure more reach when it comes to her legs.
12:11You can get her almost in a full Van Damme.
12:14The legs go forward.
12:15The legs go back.
12:16A swivel there at the top of the thigh.
12:18Double hinge again on the knees.
12:20Articulation where it counts, in the ankles.
12:21Back and forth there.
12:22Ankle rocker there too.
12:24This one is a case, though, where, unlike the Joker, did have toe articulation.
12:27I can't say, though, the same for Punchline.
12:30She doesn't have toe articulation.
12:31But she has articulation everywhere else where it counts.
12:34Yeah, this set, I mean, honestly, I know anybody by now has reviewed this on YouTube.
12:39But again, I really did want to eventually pick up the set.
12:42I waited a little longer than I really needed to.
12:45We've now heard, of course, announcements of things really being a shakeup when it comes
12:48to DC Universe as a whole.
12:50McFarlane, we don't even know how much of the franchise, how much license he's still
12:55going to be helming when it comes to figures and collectibles.
12:57Mattel has acquired, again, a lot of the license for DC.
12:59But again, we don't really know, at the time, at least, of doing this video.
13:03We don't know the extent, though, of what Mattel's going to be doing, what McFarlane
13:05still can be doing.
13:07But again, if you are still collecting McFarlane toys, I will say to their credit, while the
13:11scale has changed from time to time, and not all the figures scale the same, when you get
13:15a set like this, especially for the price that I paid for it, the Joker looks like one
13:18of the better Jokers we've gotten, and we finally have ourselves a Punchline.
13:21I don't know if Mattel is going to be the ones, the frontrunners, moving forward with
13:25DC.
13:26But if they do, I don't think the likelihood is going to be there that we're going to be
13:28getting the deep cut characters in the same way that Todd and his team has over the years.
13:33So I guess it must have been the Entertainment Earth markdown price that finally nudged me
13:36to add this to my shopping cart.
13:38The set's been circulating for at least well over a year, and I'm surprised that I waited
13:41as long as I did.
13:43It was always one of those, I know it's not going to sell out, because if it sold out,
13:47sites would have already sold it out.
13:49But with this set being again a double dip of the Infinite Frontier Joker with a brand
13:52new head sculpt, and then the unique character of Punchline, which I don't think everybody
13:56knows who the character of Punchline is, when you think of gal pals of Joker, you tend to
14:00think of Harley Quinn, and maybe that is one of the reasons why this set still circulates
14:04as easy as it does.
14:05With again, like the price being as affordable as it was, finally having this now in my hands,
14:09I'm glad that maybe I, while yes, I probably should have ordered this a little bit sooner,
14:13I'm finally able to say that I have this set in my collection, as it goes for certainly
14:17a Punchline.
14:18I don't know how many other figure companies have even released a Punchline, this might
14:21be the one and only.
14:23So it's glad to finally get ourselves a Punchline as part of the DC Multiverse line.
14:27Joker again, while getting a lot of hand-me-downs from the Infinite Frontier, one thing at least
14:31he has going for him is more traditional Joker colors.
14:34And the head sculpt, and I know I'm going to say this because I always tend to say this
14:37with every Joker review, is it the one of the best Joker head sculpts around?
14:40Yes, yes it is.
14:42I don't love the Silver Age Joker, and I think I even mentioned in the review, the head sculpt
14:46is okay, but it's not the perfect Joker.
14:49I think one of the things I did like about the Infinite Frontier Joker was the just craziness
14:53of his hair and the more stretched, elongated face that I think that that one, I could see
14:58why that that was the one that was my definitive Joker for a while on my shelf, might easily
15:03now be replaced with the one that we're getting as part of this two-pack.
15:06If you don't like one squinting eye Joker, because he's missing his eyeball, I mean,
15:09this is one of the better looking Joker head sculpts.
15:11The colors are traditional, of course, when it comes to his hair, they're not too bright
15:14of a green.
15:15The green is just right, and maybe while the costume could have maybe had a few panels
15:19striping there in his legs, because he doesn't have any, he doesn't have pinstripe pants.
15:23Yeah, really good looking Joker though.
15:25Don't just buy this set alone for just getting the punchline.
15:28The punchline in this is that not only are you getting a really good female figure, but
15:31you're getting one of the better looking clown Prince of Crimes around.
15:34Now again, if you guys are interested to get the set for yourself, Entertainment Earth,
15:37yeah, has it right now in stock.
15:39I can certainly provide the link down below in the video description.
15:42Would you also believe as well, and this isn't the, well, I guess it would be the punchline.
15:46The punchline also with having this down below in the detailed descriptions is that you can

15:53a joke at all.
15:5410% on anything that's currently in stock over on Entertainment Earth, just click the
