00:00What does it mean to you to be at the Grand Ole Opry 100 year celebration?
00:04Man, the Opry has been such a big part of my career over the last few years from my debut
00:11about four years ago to being an Opry Next Stage member class of 2022 and all the performances
00:18I've had here since. I did Opry Christmas on NBC and I mean I just feel like every time I was here
00:24for the Loretta Lynn benefit and sang with Keith Urban and so it's it's been a lot of really
00:28memorable moments in my career that I've been able to share here with the Opry. I do my
00:33annual Breland and Friends benefit at the Ryman which is you know kind of a part of the Opry as
00:38well and you know just thinking about the the history of country music and the fact that it
00:43started here everybody who has ever done anything in this genre and and beyond that honestly have
00:50played here so it's a it's a momentous occasion 100 years is a big deal. It is a very big deal
00:56I can't think of many things that are 100 years old that still exist today. America? Well that's
01:02true America does exist but you know like just like establishments. No it's true I mean and
01:09especially when it comes to music because you know modern commercial music there aren't really
01:15any other institutions like this is this predates the Grammys this predates the CMAs this predates
01:21you know a lot of things that that we celebrate within the you know even just this is like the
01:25first main radio station that we ever had that broadcast music you know like the history of that
01:31is so rich so it's not lost on me. Yeah so who is your most you're a part of the Grand Ole Opry now
01:37but who is like your most starstruck person that you've ever met like you've been starstruck by
01:42that's a part of the Grand Ole Opry. I would say when I met Reba McIntyre at the ACM awards
01:50about a year ago or like this time last year and I was so nervous because I was just like oh my
01:54gosh like this is Reba like Reba's even like you know she's just a cultural icon at
02:00this point but she's an Opry member so meeting her I was definitely a little starstruck. Yeah
02:05what about Reba do you love? Just her energy her personality and it translated even in the
02:11short interaction that we had she was like keep going you got it you know she just kind of feels
02:16like everybody's on. Yeah I could get that that vibe she was on The Voice right? Yeah. She was a
02:22judge on The Voice like that was my first time like really seeing her personality shine through
02:26so I could totally see that. So what is your favorite memory in your career as an artist?
02:33Oh just as an artist in general. Nothing about the Opry. I know yeah just about me. I got a
02:40chance to play I got a chance to play Madison Square Garden with Shania Twain a couple years
02:46ago and I mean I'm from Jersey so I grew up going to games and you know tournaments and
02:53events and concerts at MSG so being able to do that like that was also a show that I brought
02:59like 30 people out like all of my all of my friends and family from home came to that show
03:04and you know you only get to not everyone gets to do that in their career so for me to be able
03:08to do that so early in mine definitely a special one but then I would also say honorable mention
03:14to Breland and Friends that I do every year. A lot of these people who are performing here
03:18tonight have played with me at Breland and Friends in years past it's just Dierks has played it,
03:23Warren Treaty have played it, Keith has played Breland and Friends probably a couple others
03:27that are playing here tonight but that's always a favorite but it's annual so I would say
03:32for just one thing MSG recurring probably that.
