00:00Political analysts believe that it is impossible for the new DAP leader on the throne, Syarizan Johan, who is committed to becoming the party's ambassador, to attract more Malays to support the DAP.
00:14Bilce Balad from the University of Malaysia Sabah said Syarizan is aware of the challenges faced by the DAP in attracting Malay support and has confidence in the potential for change.
00:25Bilce said the DAP ambassador needs to have a deep understanding of the issues faced by the Malay community including economy, education and culture.
00:34He said the ability to communicate with Malay voters effectively is also important and this includes the effort to explain the basis of the DAP as well as how it can benefit the community.
