00:05urge all parties to prioritize state interests in resolving the need for a referendum

00:10on the gas rights between Petronas and Sarawak-Berhat Petroleum.

00:14In addition to emphasizing that the referendums must be based on mutual respect and dialogue,

00:19as well as giving warnings against extreme voices

00:22and actions on the part of those who can undermine trust

00:25as well as prevent a win-win solution.

00:28On March 8, Minister of Finance Fadilah Yusof said that Petronas and Petros

00:33are negotiating a commercial agreement to terminate the Petroleum Progression Act 1974

00:39with the Sarawak Gas Administration Ordinance 2016.

00:43This is an agreement between Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Sarawak Prime Minister Abang Johari Oping

00:49that the PDA remains as the main law in controlling the supply of oil and gas

00:54while Petros acts as a gas aggregator for Sarawak.

00:59However, on March 12, the source claimed that Sarawak insisted that all domestic gas users

01:04must comply with the DGO, which may violate the Petronas contract

01:09and violate the agreement announced by Anwar.

01:13Jaziri insisted that prioritizing Sarawak's interests may only have a short-term effect

01:19and stressed that Petronas and Petros need to work together for long-term economic prosperity.

01:25He also stated that Petros is a skilled energy shortage to manage the oil and gas sector of Sarawak

01:31without Petronas' support and warned that the disputes that are handled without wisdom

01:37can affect Malaysia's attractiveness to investors.

01:41Although Jaziri admits Sarawak's autonomy rights, he warned

01:45not to sacrifice gold before it can produce more gold eggs,

01:50referring to the importance of the oil and gas sector strategy

01:54in generating income for the country and the state.
