00:00The DAP representative sent a clear message in the party election last week to avoid the domination of the right-wing by the poor performance of former DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng, who is in the 26th place out of 30 top-ranking officials.

00:19A right-wing party leader said the decision reflected the party's desire for a less arrogant leadership style and associated its defeat with Guan Eng's open attack on Pulau Pinang's chairman, Chow Koon Yew.

00:34The source in the party opined that Guan Eng's advice was a respectful way to remove him from the role of chairman and respect the dedication and sacrifice of his late father, Lim Kit Siang.

00:49Guan Eng will not be in the five-member power to elect candidates for the election and vote with the party component for the chairmanship.

00:59The role is now held by his replacement, Gobind Singh Deo, as well as the best loyalist, Lok Siu Fook, and the chairman's team, Nga Kor Ming.

01:08Another right-wing leader said that Guan Eng may be asked to step down before the general election, due to an unfinished court case, and this is what PKR and UMNO want.

01:23Meanwhile, former parliamentarian Charles Santiago said that without Guan Eng, Lok will have more control over the executive decision, as well as the opportunity to re-form the DAP as a more inclusive and multi-ethnic party.

01:42He also admitted that he was challenged to get the full support of the Indian and Malay voters, but was optimistic that the participation of new faces in the highest powers of the central government would mark the emergence of a new DAP.
