Yip Hon Weng will once again contest Yio Chu Kang SMC in the upcoming General Election, the People’s Action Party (PAP) announced on Saturday morning (April 19). The 48-year-old was elected to Parliament in 2020 after winning the single-seat ward as a first-time candidate.

00:00I'm honoured to be feuded once again by the Prime Minister as the candidate for Yoh Chukang SMC in the upcoming general election.
00:08When I stepped forward in 2020, I was new to politics, but had one clear purpose.
00:13To serve with humility, to listen with intent, and to act with heart.
00:19Yoh Chukang may be one of Singapore's oldest estates, but as one of the strongest Kampong spirit.
00:26And together, we will make that spirit even stronger.
00:30In Parliament, I've filed over 500 parliamentary questions on the cost of living, on the economy, education, senior care, digital scams, fire safety and more.
00:41I've also championed local concerns like lift upgrading, NSC works, MRT noise and bus service improvements.
00:49It is my conviction that policy must always connect back to people.
00:55And I've remained engaged and walked the ground.
00:58As we face a more complex and uncertain world, the question is not who makes promises, but who walks the journey with you, who builds trust, who stays the course.
