00:00I think the Heartbeat at Berdok has been a great facility for families with younger children.
00:05There's like swimming and all these activities that they can bring their kids to.
00:10And one more thing I think they can do more is for the elderly to have more activities or programs for them.
00:23Hello, I'm Hans from Asia One and we're at the heart of East Coast GRC.
00:27Home to nearly 151,000 electors, it is the fourth largest GRC after absorbing the entire world of Jiu Chiet and parts of Kebangan Chai Chi Division.
00:39If you recall, this side was fiercely contested in GE 2020.
00:45Back then, the People's Action Party team, anchored by Deputy Prime Minister Hing Sui Kiet,
00:50secured a narrow victory over the Workers' Party, with 53.41% of the votes.
00:58Let's have a look at the issues that are top of mind for voters living here.
01:03Basically in Chai Chi, I would like to see more activities for children.
01:08So if it's actually available, then we can easily foster this relationship between the elders and the young ones.
01:14You never know, sometimes it can be a relationship even beyond families, beyond races and beyond communities.
01:21So I'm very worried that seven years from now, when I'm ready to buy a house, can I even afford to buy a house for myself to live in?
01:29I want to live independently and have my own house.
01:33The heavy rising cost of living will affect my savings rate and kind of push back my goal on when I'll be able to achieve my dream outcome.
01:41I think the most pressing one would be mental health support for youths and adults.
01:49To be quite frank, life is getting more stressful day by day.
01:53It's not just adults that face mental health issues, but also like the youth and even children.
01:58Therapy isn't cheap and there's not really much subsidies available to cover mental health treatment as well.
02:07I think one of the things I'll be looking out for is how involved they are in helping the low-income families in Bedok.
02:14Because there's quite a few of elderly and low-income families.
02:19And I think I would like to see what are the kind of initiatives that they provide for the people here,
02:27as well as like their personal involvement as well.
