00:00:00...and comebacks...
00:00:02...he is back in the Keystone State on top.
00:00:05To have a lot of injuries, it sucks all those setbacks,
00:00:08but I feel like I've kept mentally strong and believed in myself
00:00:12and that I could get back to this top level.
00:00:14A big person that's kept me going through those times
00:00:17is my mechanic, Jacob Martin.
00:00:19He was my race mechanic for my first four years of professional racing.
00:00:22And then this year when I moved to Florida,
00:00:24he made the move with me to be my practice mechanic.
00:00:26We live together going on five years now.
00:00:28Yeah, our relationship, I would consider us as brothers for sure.
00:00:32Yeah, I would say at this point, 100%.
00:00:34Not these brothers.
00:00:3820-year-old Seth Hamaker has won his first 250 main!
00:00:43My third race ever as a pro was so early in my career
00:00:47and it just came naturally.
00:00:49Click the first one off and you kind of expect it.
00:00:52Coming into 2022, my spleen had a few compression fractures
00:00:55and broke my wrist really, really bad.
00:00:57Healed up, big crash, a couple compression fractures in my back.
00:01:00Mental side of things crept in.
00:01:0020-24, dislocated my shoulder, rotator cuff, labor, bicep tendon in my shoulder.
00:01:05Surgery was required for that.
00:01:06It's hard to see.
00:01:07I don't just go to the track and I see him again the next day.
00:01:10Like, I see everything that goes into it.
00:01:12The things these guys go to is insane.
00:01:14It's insane.
00:01:15So while I was injured, I wanted to make a change to my program
00:01:19and I was able to move down to Florida here to the dog pound.
00:01:22There was a chance that we were going to go our separate ways,
00:01:25but it just ended up working out.
00:01:27Got the start.
00:01:28He got the jump.
00:01:29Seth Hamaker!
00:01:30Indianapolis is going to be your new favorite place!
00:01:33I don't know, four long years, like, pretty proud of him.
00:01:39The mental side of things is just as tough as the physical.
00:01:42Coming back from as many setbacks as I have had through my career,
00:01:46that's not something you want to go through,
00:01:48but I feel like it's made me a better and stronger person
00:01:50just in life in general.
00:01:53What's for dinner?
00:01:55What's for dinner?
00:01:56Sam and the night.
00:01:57I always feel like it's just trying to surround yourself with good people
00:02:02and people that will have your back
00:02:03and just never give up on your goal.
00:02:06Find things that get you up every day and keeps you going.
00:02:09Good day?
00:02:11What was a good day?
00:02:13With everything I've been through, I know that I have what it takes.
00:02:18Seth Hamaker is not only a phenomenal dirt bike rider,
00:02:21he's a good person,
00:02:23and perseverance is a word that comes to mind
00:02:26when you think of Seth.
00:02:27And for the first time, he's up there with the red plate,
00:02:31sharing that red plate with Tom Villal.
00:02:33He'll meet Villal on the line
00:02:35when we come back for the 2.50 East-West Showdown here in Philly.
00:02:44It's time to pay out the points.
00:02:47In the 4.50 class, Cooper Webb looks to extend his lead.
00:02:51KTM teammates Aaron Plessinger and Chase Sexton lead the field,
00:02:54looking to stop his title momentum.
00:02:56He's got the lead.
00:02:58Sexton crosses back over and retakes it.
00:03:01Aaron Plessinger wins in Foxborough.
00:03:04But first, to the starting gate.
00:03:07The best 2.50 Supercross racers meet in the East-West Showdown.
00:03:11Top VL!
00:03:12Wow!
00:03:13Look at the flames coming out of this exhaust.
00:03:15Oh, man.
00:03:15Look at the flames coming out of this exhaust.
00:03:16Oh, man.
00:03:17Yeah!
00:03:18Yeah!
00:03:19Yeah!
00:03:20Yeah!
00:03:21Yeah!
00:03:22Yeah!
00:03:23Yeah!
00:03:24Yeah!
00:03:25Yeah!
00:03:26Joe Shimoda wins in A-1.
00:03:29His first career A-1 win.
00:03:31He's digging wins!
00:03:32Anaheim 2.
00:03:33Julian Bomair!
00:03:35You're a race winner!
00:03:37Triumph has its first win with Jordan Smith.
00:03:40First race winner of the year.
00:03:42For 2.50 East, Max Anstey grabs that first check-in of the year.
00:03:46And the match for Washougal, Washington.
00:03:49Levi Kitchen wins Detroit.
00:03:51RJ Hampshire wins in Daytona.
00:03:55Cole Davies is going to become the 10th different 2.50 winner this year.
00:04:00Career first win for the New Zealander Cole Davies.
00:04:03Seth Hamaker, Indianapolis, is going to be your new favorite place.
00:04:09That's awesome.
00:04:10That's Nate Thresher's nine.
00:04:12Thresher wins in Alabama.
00:04:15Chance Hymas, the 19-year-old from Idaho, is a winner.
00:04:22The variety, the unpredictability, the diversity.
00:04:27It's been incredible this year.
00:04:29And as far as the East Division is concerned, six different winners from six races.
00:04:34That has never happened before in Supercross history.
00:04:39It's been awesome.
00:04:40All right, time to go around the berm.
00:04:41Ricky, you're first up.
00:04:42That's right.
00:04:43Last time, 2.50 West Division lined up.
00:04:45This man, the rookie, Cole Davies, took the main event win.
00:04:49Had a great run in his heat race earlier here tonight.
00:04:52Came up a little bit short.
00:04:53Keep your eyes on the 100 in the main event.
00:04:56And, hey, Deegan, you've been the fastest.
00:04:58I would say all year long, and especially in that West Coast.
00:05:01If you do what you normally do, you can turn that number two into those wins into number three.
00:05:05And it'll be a better time.
00:05:07No better time than to do it right here in Philadelphia.
00:05:09Won in California.
00:05:10He won in Texas.
00:05:11Can he win here in Philly?
00:05:13How about the home state rider, Seth Hamaker?
00:05:16It took him a little while to get going this season.
00:05:19But that victory in Indianapolis, the last time we had an East-West showdown,
00:05:23that really got him going.
00:05:26And it's been a rough year for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Racing with riders injured.
00:05:30This guy has been the shining light.
00:05:34Well, last week's winner, Chance Hymus,
00:05:37you've somehow clawed your way back into this championship fight.
00:05:41And I remember speaking to you on the podium last week,
00:05:43and you were so surprised you were only eight points down.
00:05:45Well, now is the time to make the most of it.
00:05:48You have an opportunity on a racetrack that suits you.
00:05:50Time to step up and make the most of it.
00:05:54And Tom Vial tied now in points with Seth Hamaker.
00:05:57He had to go to the LCQ to get here in this position.
00:06:00Carlos Rivera, the crew chief, he told me, look, there's benefits here.
00:06:04He can gain more track time.
00:06:05That's always a good thing.
00:06:06But Gatepick is not his friend here having done that.
00:06:09So let's see how he balances out those two in the main event.
00:06:13Can Tom just block out?
00:06:15The adversity that he's faced the last couple of weekends.
00:06:19Crashing multiple times in Massachusetts and finishing last,
00:06:23and then crashing out in the heat here.
00:06:24Can he block that out and put it behind him?
00:06:26Well, he has the ability to do it, being the two-time world champ,
00:06:31reigning champ, defending champ, pardon me,
00:06:34from the East Division last year.
00:06:36And he has got to stop the air from leaking out of this balloon.
00:06:40250 East-West showdown here in Philadelphia.
00:06:43Drop the gate.
00:06:45The stun is key.
00:06:50And who gets it?
00:06:51It's Hamaka!
00:06:54Hamaka with the whole shot.
00:06:57And who's behind him?
00:06:58It's Cole Davies.
00:07:00Oh, this is going to be an epic battle right now.
00:07:04Oh, no.
00:07:04Second week in a row, RJ Hampshire goes down on the opening lap.
00:07:08Yeah, Tom Biao was caught up in there.
00:07:10Tom Biao had actually good jump, but then he got caught behind those guys.
00:07:13So tough start.
00:07:14But September maker, the way that he raced wind,
00:07:16this is exactly where you want an opportunity to be out front with that clean air.
00:07:20Man, he's got that red plate signifying he is the leader of the series or division right now.
00:07:26And, man, this guy has just been superb.
00:07:28I go back from that wind he took it in Indy with the showdown.
00:07:32And then that one little mishap in Birmingham in the Triple Crown.
00:07:35He has been perfect ever since.
00:07:37Track looks perfect, too.
00:07:39There's been maintenance since they were last out on it.
00:07:41Davey's Hot In Pursuit.
00:07:42This kid comes from a town in New Zealand called Waitoki with less than 2,000 people in it.
00:07:49And here he is flying his nation's flag for Monster Energy star Yamaha.
00:07:54And he is one of the hottest riders in the world at the moment at just 17.
00:08:01Let's go back to the start and show you what happened to RJ Hampshire and others in that first turn pileup.
00:08:08Well, these guys fight for position, James.
00:08:10He is trying to get stopped and then Cody shock.
00:08:14He comes in there with a handful of speed and get slowed up.
00:08:18Yeah, he just takes RJ down with them.
00:08:21Really? No, nowhere for them to go.
00:08:24No, and this time he was right here.
00:08:26So this is where Cody shock gets in there.
00:08:29And Tom actually gets caught up behind him with another rider.
00:08:32So he was able to avoid it, but did a good job at getting out of that.
00:08:35But for your stepped handmaker, this is exactly where you want to be.
00:08:39And I feel like RC at this point, if you're Seth, you just want these laps to just click off.
00:08:44If you can get through the first, maybe five laps, then this race and open up, you can start getting relaxed.
00:08:49And maybe you can pull away, JT.
00:08:51Well, thinking about Seth Handmaker, James, and how he's improved so much.
00:08:54What's the difference for 2025?
00:08:56And I think he's always known where the limit is.
00:09:00But the problem is, he's wanted to go over the limit.
00:09:02He's wanted to push too hard and take too many chances.
00:09:06And sometimes it's just wanting it too much.
00:09:07When 2025, I think he's going to respect that a little bit.
00:09:11Slowed down to go fast.
00:09:12And we've talked about that throughout the season.
00:09:14What does that mean?
00:09:15Let's just understand your limits.
00:09:18You always have to know if I go, oh, we've got a big crash here, and I'll throw it back to you guys.
00:09:22Oh, it's Michael Moseman.
00:09:24Oh, it's Daxton Benick.
00:09:26Daxton Benick down.
00:09:28Red flag.
00:09:29And when the Alpine Stars medical team, when they're assessing the severity of the fallen rider,
00:09:42they will let the race officials know that they need more time with that rider, with that athlete.
00:09:48Hardy Munoz and Michael Moseman have their bikes jammed together here.
00:09:55Boy, what an eventful east-west showdown this has been.
00:09:59So, everyone will return.
00:10:08The medical team is with Benick.
00:10:12And we will get things restarted when we return here to Lincoln Financial Field in Philly.
00:10:23Next week, the Super Motocross World Championship returns to NBC
00:10:27with a 3 p.m. Eastern gate drop from MetLife Stadium.
00:10:30The historic northeast swing of the SMX World Championship continues in East Rutherford, New Jersey,
00:10:36where all the stars of Monster Angie Supercross race for the 11th time in the greater New York area.
00:10:41And you can witness history firsthand.
00:10:43Go to supermotocross.com for tickets and all the information.
00:10:46So, we travel 300 miles south from Foxborough last week to this week.
00:10:50Then we turn around and head north.
00:10:51We head back up to New Jersey for more action next week in this four-consecutive weekend run of SMX action.
00:11:00Monster Angie AMA Supercross.
00:11:03So, as I mentioned when we were going to the break, everyone's returned to the gate.
00:11:08I want to bring in now the director of racing for the AMA, the sports governing body, Mike Pelletier.
00:11:14Mike, we have two different versions of restarts.
00:11:17Tell the viewers what we're going to see here coming up.
00:11:19We do.
00:11:20This is actually going to be a full restart from the starting gate because the leaders hadn't completed three complete laps yet.
00:11:26Most helpful.
00:11:27So, everyone re-racks.
00:11:29Everybody goes to the gate.
00:11:31And we will go at it again.
00:11:34The medical team is still with Daxton Benick.
00:11:37And once they are satisfied that they can help him off the track, then riders will be given the sign to fire their bikes up and get ready to go all again for a complete restart, as Mike Pelletier just mentioned, for this East-West showdown.
00:12:07So, the championship certainly took an interesting turn last week when we were in Foxborough, Massachusetts, in those horrendous conditions.
00:12:27Everything that we fans love about a mud race was on full display last Saturday night in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
00:12:42Oh, boy.
00:12:43The less than ideal conditions provided a test for both man and machine.
00:12:48Oh, it's just conditions and we've already got one down.
00:12:50Look no further than the points leaders coming into the Foxborough race to see how rain and mud altered a tidal run.
00:12:56Tom Vial, the points leader, is down and stuck.
00:12:59KTM's Tom Vial's night fell apart in the last few minutes of the 250 main event.
00:13:04Oh.
00:13:04Crash after crash eventually pushed the Frenchman from the top five to last place.
00:13:10Whoa.
00:13:10Hold on to it, Tom.
00:13:11Vial came into the race with a comfortable points gap over second place and heads into tonight's East-West showdown tied with Seth Hamaker atop the 250 East Division.
00:13:21Three other riders are within striking distance of the points lead.
00:13:24Yamaha's 450 star Cooper Webb didn't let two early crashes bother him and put on one last all-out charge for the ages on the final lap to gain three spots, passing rivals Ken Rockson and Chase Sexton in the process.
00:13:41Look at the fight smoking.
00:13:42Webb earned his eighth podium of the season and stretched his championship advantage to 15 points.
00:13:49Uh-oh.
00:13:49That was Sexton.
00:13:50As only open-air stadiums remain on the 2025 schedule, the road to Salt Lake City and the Monster Energy Supercross final round will be full of twists and turns as the best dirt bike racers on the planet compete for the title.
00:14:07James, I asked you yesterday, when was the last time you can remember seeing a race like that?
00:14:13And your answer was 2006 going against this guy right here.
00:14:17Nearly 20 years ago.
00:14:19And you ain't got to say all that.
00:14:21That's a long time ago.
00:14:22That's scary, right?
00:14:24It really makes me feel old.
00:14:26I can tell you that much.
00:14:27But I'll never forget, there was this, the memories are so vivid in my head of certain parts.
00:14:34When we were in that race, during that race, James, I'm like, dude, we aren't just, like, riding in the mud.
00:14:40We are full-blown battling and racing.
00:14:44There was nothing survival about it.
00:14:46It was a battle.
00:14:47We were.
00:14:47And our own JT was in that race as well, JT.
00:14:50And I'm thinking about that LCQ.
00:14:53And you mentioned there for Tom Vial, you know, if he goes on to win this championship,
00:14:57we'll think about that LCQ and pushing it in there on the start.
00:15:00Well, I'm thinking about this starting procedure, what it means for RJ Hampshire.
00:15:03Going back to a full restart gives him another chance at this main event.
00:15:08Remember, he went down in the first corner of that race and was dead last.
00:15:11Had we gone another couple of laps, we would have gone to a single-file procedure,
00:15:15and he would have been maybe 17, 18 at the restart.
00:15:18Now we're even Steven, and he's got another shot at it.
00:15:20Yeah.
00:15:23And it is a full, just to repeat what Mike Pelletier from the AMA mentioned,
00:15:28it's a full restart.
00:15:29So no time shaved off.
00:15:32It's like what we've seen already, never happened.
00:15:36By the way, you may have heard a big cheer in the background during JT's report there.
00:15:40That was the crowd responding to Daxton Bennett with the Alpine Stars medical team
00:15:45as they got him off the track and heading back into the tunnel.
00:15:49Well, reset action here.
00:15:54Let's re-rack him.
00:15:55Yep, re-rack him.
00:15:56So for everybody who were less than satisfied with how they got through turn one,
00:16:00like Tom Vian, like RJ Hampshire, like Hayden Deegan,
00:16:03they get a second chance at it.
00:16:06You spare a thought for the likes of Seth Hamaker and Cole Davies,
00:16:09who were out in front and going so well,
00:16:12but for those guys who were hoping for a second chance, they've got it.
00:16:16Garrett Marchbank's in there.
00:16:23Joe Shimoda.
00:16:24There's Davies.
00:16:26Julian Beaumann.
00:16:27He got off to a pretty good start as well.
00:16:29Yeah, he was running third before all that went down, so...
00:16:31You can get a crack at it.
00:16:34Yeah, keep an eye on the right-hand side of your screen when they get down to that first corner.
00:16:39That's where it jammed up last time.
00:16:41It gets very, very narrow, and it allows the guys on the left-hand side of your screen,
00:16:45on the outside, like Hymas, Davies, Bomer, to sweep around.
00:16:49Championship tied in the East Division.
00:17:00Hayden Deegan leads the West Division.
00:17:02This is the best of the best, as far as 250s are concerned,
00:17:06in the SMX World Championship.
00:17:08That's why we get so excited about these showdowns.
00:17:11It is such a treat.
00:17:15And they love it, too,
00:17:16because they get to see how the other division's performing.
00:17:22Ready to do it again.
00:17:23250 made here in Philly.
00:17:27Great start, RJ Hampshire.
00:17:30He got a second chance.
00:17:32He's making the most of it.
00:17:33Hampshire with the whole shot.
00:17:35Here comes Hammacher again.
00:17:36And Deegan got out of his rhythm there,
00:17:38but he hangs on to it.
00:17:39He's on the inside.
00:17:40You talk about redemption, being down in the first start,
00:17:43and now being in the front.
00:17:45That's what you talk about.
00:17:46He's taking the best, taking advantage of his situation,
00:17:48and RJ did that.
00:17:50Now exactly where he wants to be.
00:17:52Seth is right there.
00:17:53And Deegan just made his way up into third place as well.
00:17:56Two riders from the 250 East Division run,
00:17:58first and second.
00:17:59The West Division points lead to Deegan from third.
00:18:03Hammacher really came out of that first quarter.
00:18:05Great, too, because he was probably about fifth position,
00:18:08and he stuck up, got into almost first place.
00:18:12But right here in second, great start for Hammacher.
00:18:15Great work.
00:18:16Cody Shock.
00:18:17Yes.
00:18:18I bought that 37.
00:18:19On the inside, trying the outside move here on Deegan,
00:18:22and he's pressing him.
00:18:24There's no love lost between these.
00:18:25Good.
00:18:26What a move by Cody going around the outside.
00:18:28I think Hayden was trying to block it too much.
00:18:30Just Cody rode around the outside.
00:18:32But Hayden, Deegan, just like that heat race,
00:18:34I'm just going to allow this thing to come with me.
00:18:37Don't want these guys to get in between too much.
00:18:40Deegan gets back by Cody Shock.
00:18:42Well, you think about Deegan, too.
00:18:44He is the first guy in the West Division.
00:18:47So, from a points and championship perspective,
00:18:50he's in perfect position.
00:18:52Meanwhile, these two guys, only two points separate him.
00:18:5556 of Hammacher and the 24 of RJ Hampshire.
00:18:58So, the battle is on.
00:18:59Not only did Deegan get by Shock,
00:19:04but now he's pressuring Hammacher for that second spot.
00:19:07Cole Davies putting pressure on Cody Shock.
00:19:09Look at Shock get off that corner.
00:19:11That was an incredible corner exit
00:19:13and almost got back by Hayden Deegan.
00:19:16Now, Davies takes advantage of that
00:19:17and goes around the outside.
00:19:20Yeah, these guys are going back and forth.
00:19:21Then the one guy who got caught up that was out front,
00:19:24top three in that first one, is Julian Brumera.
00:19:27And looking at him, Lee, he's down in 18th position.
00:19:30So, not the restart he wanted.
00:19:32Definitely tough to end up things happening like that.
00:19:35But it's a long race.
00:19:38RJ Hampshire aboard.
00:19:40The Rockstar Energy Factory Husqvarna leads
00:19:42over the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki of Seth Hammacher.
00:19:46I'm going to tell you right now,
00:19:48the number 100 of the rookie Cole Davies
00:19:51is incredible through the whoops section.
00:19:54We talked about blitzing through the whoops.
00:19:57and he has been absolutely flying
00:20:00through that part of the track
00:20:02and other parts of the track as well.
00:20:04But that is where I think could be a passing point
00:20:07for Cole Davies.
00:20:09Yeah, what he's doing, RC,
00:20:10he's actually slingshotting around the outside.
00:20:13Most of these guys are going in that corner
00:20:14and kind of pivoting more of a 90.
00:20:16What Cole's doing, he's using that whole berm
00:20:18and getting down the right side of his whoops.
00:20:20So, he's able to get beside one of these guys.
00:20:23No matter what they do, he'll be able to go around them
00:20:24of the inside.
00:20:25Yeah, here it comes.
00:20:26This is where Ricky's talking about.
00:20:28Into the whoops.
00:20:29Oh, there he goes.
00:20:30See if he makes up time.
00:20:31Oh, he does.
00:20:32He does.
00:20:34Deacon looks on the inside of Hamica.
00:20:37Close but not quite close enough.
00:20:39That's allowed Hampshire to skip away a bit.
00:20:41Deacon setting up an inside move.
00:20:43Wasn't an option.
00:20:47Here comes Davies around the outside.
00:20:49I like this outside line Davies has got around the outside first corner.
00:20:55That inside rut is starting to get chewed up.
00:20:57These guys aren't getting a lot of traction coming out of there.
00:21:00It's getting accelerating bumps.
00:21:02Yeah, Cole's doing that in a few different spots.
00:21:04He's just running one line on the outside of the main line
00:21:07and so he's putting up there.
00:21:10Davies gets his teammate JT.
00:21:12Now Deacon comes back over the finish jump.
00:21:14I was going to mention exactly what James said.
00:21:18Davies is going where everybody else isn't,
00:21:20and that's giving him a smoother racetrack.
00:21:22He's already able to carry more momentum
00:21:24because they're simply not a rut.
00:21:25You see him cut underneath the rut there.
00:21:27He's doing that all the way around the racetrack,
00:21:29and that's only going to work more for him
00:21:31as his track starts deteriorating.
00:21:33James, you know it more than anyone.
00:21:35There's a feeling and a sense of confidence
00:21:37when you're able to get your first win,
00:21:40and I think that's what we're seeing with the 100.
00:21:43Yeah, side by side with Hamaka Davies is on the inside.
00:21:47He's gone from fourth to third to second.
00:21:49Yeah, he's just got better lines,
00:21:51and I think being behind these guys
00:21:52is allowing him to see that,
00:21:54and those guys are getting stuck in the rut.
00:21:55Has a nice move by Seth, kind of snuck up on the inside of,
00:21:58but let's see if Cole can stay close to him
00:22:00because this is where he has that line around the outside.
00:22:03I'm just going to put him on the inside of this next section.
00:22:05There he goes.
00:22:06It really pays off at the beginning of the whoops.
00:22:08He has more momentum.
00:22:09See, there he goes.
00:22:11Leaping by Seth Hamaka back in the second.
00:22:14Deegan with a huge move.
00:22:15He got Buck Wilde coming off that triple into the corner.
00:22:19I thought he was almost fully out of control.
00:22:22That was an incredible save by the third.
00:22:24I don't think he almost was.
00:22:25He was out of control.
00:22:27That's skills, but...
00:22:29Okay, pressure on the leader, RJ Hampshire.
00:22:33What's great about...
00:22:34Pass for the lead.
00:22:36Cole Davies has made very quick work of the competition.
00:22:40I was going to say what's great about that outside line around the first corner that Cole Davies has taken.
00:22:44It sets him up to be on the right-hand side, inside, going into the right-hand 180 corner.
00:22:49Like...
00:22:51Oh!
00:22:53Yeah, he just got back.
00:22:54He wanted to hit that triple.
00:22:56Could you imagine if he had missed his rear brake?
00:22:58So, this is why I was talking about this outside line, James.
00:23:02Yeah, it just goes around the outside, and again, it puts him back on the inside over here.
00:23:06And it's just allowing Cole to, as JT said, he's going where everybody is and being behind those guys.
00:23:11He's seen it, and now look at him.
00:23:12He's starting to get away from him.
00:23:15Let's check in with Will Christian.
00:23:16Will?
00:23:17Thanks.
00:23:18I just got to ask Ricky there and James, what you see in Cole Davies, how far off is it where he should be?
00:23:27Because talking to the mechanic team, his family, I just think he may be the only one who doesn't realize that maybe he isn't supposed to be as good as he is right now.
00:23:38This guy, Anaheim One, was his first professional race.
00:23:42He was supposed to be amateurs for another year, and Lackey, his mechanic, was telling me today that Seattle, he wasn't even comfortable with his bike when he got that win.
00:23:51He just kind of rode around it.
00:23:53So, how is he doing this, and is this just really unprecedented at his young age and lack of experience?
00:23:59I'm unbelievably impressed by just his progression, and listen, I've talked about it.
00:24:04I was going to try to get the pass done.
00:24:07Deegan on the inside of Hamaka.
00:24:08There's a bit of push and shove there.
00:24:10Hamaka hangs tough.
00:24:11Deegan's trying to press the issue.
00:24:14Two different rhythms through there.
00:24:16Deegan gets that high line and gets the spot from Seth.
00:24:19Yeah, he made that high line work for him, kept that momentum up, and that was great riding by Seth.
00:24:25Seth could have used up some track, but he didn't.
00:24:28Great sportsmanship and riding bikes by both riders right there.
00:24:31Yeah, and I think that's where Seth really looking at the big picture.
00:24:34But yeah, when you go back to what Will was talking about with Cole Davies, you know, yeah, I think he's well beyond his age.
00:24:41I mean, from what he's doing.
00:24:42But then when you look at erotic, what I get impressed with is just the line selections, how he was able to get around those guys.
00:24:48That's a veteran move to be able to just open up because I'm sure he hasn't wrote any of those lines all day long to be able to have that fortitude to be able to think outside and build and use those lines.
00:24:58He was able to get around them, and that's the part that impresses me along with that 3.2 second lead he has right now.
00:25:04And when I watch him, you know, a little more detailed is that he it doesn't even look like he's trying.
00:25:11Obviously he's trying and then the strength that he has the whoops.
00:25:14And like you said, James being able to take different lines, and we even spoke about this off air earlier today about when some guys get behind a rider.
00:25:23They tend to follow them, and others are very good at taking alternate lines like Cole Davies, and it just gives you another option.
00:25:31And Cole Davies has shown us just how effective that could be.
00:25:36And I go back to his progression from last year when he was racing the SMX Next Division.
00:25:43I mean, it looks like a complete veteran.
00:25:46Yeah.
00:25:47A big and aboard his Monster Energy Yamaha pressing RJ Hampshire.
00:25:51Speaking of Monster Energy, he can stock up on him now at Acme Markets.
00:25:56So as they run, RJ Hampshire would be in the lead of the 250 East Division Championship by just two points over St. Amica.
00:26:05Tom Vial, who runs in fifth on track at the moment, would fall from a tie for first to third.
00:26:11But we've still got 614 left on the clock, plus a lap.
00:26:15Lots of racing still to be done.
00:26:16Oh, hold on to it, RJ!
00:26:18That's going to allow Deegan to get closer and closer.
00:26:21Whoa!
00:26:22How close that was for Hayden.
00:26:23Gotcha!
00:26:24That lapper.
00:26:25But that's how important and much he wanted to make that pass.
00:26:28Because I believe RJ was holding him up.
00:26:30And don't forget, Cole Davies is still in this championship, you know, with him.
00:26:34And, hey, Deegan, he's behind his teammate, which is, at this point, just riding a phenomenal race.
00:26:41He had to make that move, so mistake by RJ allowed.
00:26:46Yeah, still two races to go for this 250 West Division after this round.
00:26:52So Cole still has a chance.
00:26:54But check out this replay.
00:26:56RJ Hampshire is going to wheel tap and he misses the third one.
00:27:00RJ doing RJ things.
00:27:03RJ doing RJ things.
00:27:04But watch how close this was with Deegan.
00:27:05It looked a lot closer.
00:27:06It just goes around the outside.
00:27:08RJ makes a little mistake coming out of that corner.
00:27:10That's all she wrote.
00:27:13Oh!
00:27:14Right now, Ricky.
00:27:16Yes.
00:27:17Hamaka and Hampshire would be tied on points as they race for the last step of the podium.
00:27:23Haven't talked about it, but Fial sitting in fifth place.
00:27:27He was the third fastest rider on the track, so he's not out of this either.
00:27:32There he is.
00:27:33Yeah, he's closing in on these guys, and these guys keep battling.
00:27:36It's only going to bring him back into it.
00:27:38So you got one, two, three in the points.
00:27:40That's exactly what we wanted for that East Coast title.
00:27:43Seth missed the triple there.
00:27:46That's going to set it up beautifully for what's left in the East Division,
00:27:49which is New Jersey next week.
00:27:51Pittsburgh finishing off with the big showdown in Salt Lake City.
00:27:56Four and a half minutes left on the clock.
00:27:58Is it possible for the teenage sensation from New Zealand?
00:28:01Cole Davies to go back to back.
00:28:04Seattle and here in Philadelphia.
00:28:09You got to think, if he's able to do that on the toughest tracks,
00:28:12I would say for sure for the West Coast guys,
00:28:15because they're outside of Daytona, they didn't race.
00:28:18Man is that back to be all.
00:28:23Yeah, great, great rebound for the defending champ.
00:28:28The two fifty East Division going taking a pretty tough crash.
00:28:34In his heat race, and.
00:28:35Second out of the last chance qualifier, then a rebound JT.
00:28:40I'm okay with his performance.
00:28:42I think it's a great ride.
00:28:43Oh, I echo your sentiment whole heartily.

00:39:49what just happened now the
00:39:51gates have opened wide open.
00:39:53And Justin Basha leads Ken Roxxon.
00:39:55Man that was tough. It looks
00:39:57like Aaron got caught on the
00:39:59inside and now Basha goes down.
00:40:01Looks like he missed the rear
00:40:03brake. Is that what it must
00:40:05have? Right just making that
00:40:07for him. I don't know what
00:40:09happened, but it didn't end well
00:40:11and now you look at it now Ken
00:40:13Roxxon is going to be able to
00:40:15try and make his way back
00:40:17through the field as well.
00:40:19What an opportunity for the
00:40:2194 Ken Roxxon. We talked about
00:40:23it at the beginning of the
00:40:25broadcast here this afternoon.
00:40:27He is banged up. His shoulder
00:40:29is injured. He considered not
00:40:31finishing the championship, but
00:40:33the team himself said we're
00:40:35going to keep going. We're
00:40:37never going to give up and look
00:40:39at what that opportunity has
00:40:41done.
00:40:42Great start from Mitchell
00:40:44Harrison as well aboard the
00:40:4686 that part Zilla PRMX
00:40:48Kawasaki. Here is championship
00:40:50contender Chase Sexton making
00:40:52moves. He is ahead of Cooper
00:40:54Webb and Benny Bloss. Man I
00:40:56chase has made a lot of time.
00:40:58If I'm not mistaken, I thought
00:40:59he was off the racetrack.
00:41:00The beginning part with his
00:41:01teammate. So he was, but he
00:41:02was able to get back on the
00:41:04track really fast. I watched
00:41:06him do that. He was able to
00:41:08get back on the track really
00:41:10fast. I watched him do that.
00:41:12And then Cooper Webb was a
00:41:14couple riders behind him, so
00:41:16they're kind of making the same
00:41:18passes as they come through the
00:41:20pack here. I mean, I would
00:41:24think for the number two of
00:41:26Cooper Webb James that it is so
00:41:28important to make the same
00:41:30moves. Get by the guys at the
00:41:32same time as Jay Sexton and
00:41:34not let chase get away. All
00:41:36right, let's go back and show
00:41:38you what went down at the
00:41:40beginning of the race. Because
00:41:42what looked like the two KTM
00:41:46teammates heading around turn
00:41:48one first. Oh, it was
00:41:50McElrath into Blessinger.
00:41:52Miranda's was there. Dean
00:41:54Wilson. It was a scramble.
00:41:56Justin Cooper. It was similar
00:41:58kind of to the 250 main event.
00:42:00James, you go back that the very
00:42:02guy in the very inside. It was
00:42:04McElrath in this instance.
00:42:06Yeah, there goes Marsha off the
00:42:08track. Yeah, definitely missed
00:42:10this rear break. But but that
00:42:12start was just similar, right?
00:42:14The inside guy just can't get
00:42:16stopped and everything gets
00:42:17pinched off so quick. Yeah,
00:42:19and once they're trying to lean
00:42:20into your hair and you got
00:42:21another bike on you, so it's
00:42:22nothing you can do just gets
00:42:23pulled down. But look at this
00:42:25guy. That's what 3.5 seconds
00:42:29looks like back to Joey Savace.
00:42:31Just his second race back after
00:42:33missing several races through
00:42:35injury. The quadlock Honda
00:42:37riders doing great in second
00:42:38ahead of Malcolm Stewart. And
00:42:40here come the title contenders
00:42:42Sexton and Webb running fourth
00:42:44and fifth. Now when you go
00:42:46points racing right here, James,
00:42:48this is relatively easy to manage
00:42:51as far as, you know, any
00:42:53potential damages as long as
00:42:55you don't go down from a points
00:42:57perspective. Just being that
00:42:58close to the ride the rider
00:43:00that you're battling the
00:43:01championship with. Yeah,
00:43:02absolutely. And if I'm Cooper
00:43:03probably having a good time at
00:43:05this point, right? Just chase
00:43:06is right in front of them.
00:43:07Nothing's really happening.
00:43:08Even if he gets around. You got
00:43:09to do it on the inside. Now
00:43:10Savace comes back. Didn't like
00:43:15seeing that happen. Malcolm's
00:43:17got the spot and he's going to
00:43:18have more company because
00:43:19Sexton is here. Sexton goes by
00:43:21Savace. Nice move by Chase
00:43:25just making it happen. Roxanne's
00:43:32lead is almost five seconds. But
00:43:34for how much longer? What kind of
00:43:36pace has Stewart got aboard that
00:43:38Husqvarna?
00:43:39And you got to feel that as this
00:43:40race goes on, those rocks and
00:43:41it's probably going to start
00:43:42coming back to these guys. So
00:43:43it's not really too much of a
00:43:45panic as Cooper Webb makes his
00:43:46way around Joey Savace. That
00:43:47shoulders probably to start
00:43:48bothering Marcy. Well he is,
00:43:49but I was looking at the
00:43:50outside line that Cooper Webb
00:43:51took to get around Joey Savace.
00:43:53That was the same line that
00:43:54Cole Davies was taken in the
00:43:55main event that we were
00:43:56talking about. And I wonder if
00:43:58he was able to watch that
00:44:00250 main event. Jason have a
00:44:02run. He's going to have a
00:44:04run. He's going to have a
00:44:07run. He's going to have a
00:44:08run. Here we go. Here we go.
00:44:11Sexton side by side with
00:44:13Malcolm Stewart. Malcolm
00:44:14doesn't want to give it up just
00:44:15yet. He won't have a choice in
00:44:16it. Sexton to second. These
00:44:19guys are grinding, going to the
00:44:21front. If you have Chase
00:44:23Sexton, at least if you can't
00:44:25win, you want to be in front of
00:44:26the two. That's what we talked
00:44:27about at the top. Nice pass by
00:44:30Coop. Webb moves up another
00:44:32position. The championship two
00:44:34are now in the top three. James
00:44:38I want to ask you like right
00:44:39here. I mean, what do you do?
00:44:42Keep going. What if you Cooper
00:44:44Webb? Yep. I mean, at this
00:44:46point, I would actually probably
00:44:47stay behind him. You know, see
00:44:48if I can try to pressure in a
00:44:49mistake. You know, at this
00:44:50point, I feel like I said, I
00:44:51think Cooper, even if the race
00:44:52finished, he'll be fine with
00:44:53this. Chase isn't gaining
00:44:55maximum points, but the
00:44:57likelihood of you getting in
00:44:58front of Chase and a bit of
00:44:59pull away. Probably not that
00:45:00likely. So maybe just stay
00:45:01behind him. You feel good.
00:45:03Everything looks good. Hopefully
00:45:04make a mistake and gain some
00:45:05more points, but that's going
00:45:06to be difficult. Chase is a
00:45:07tough rider. He knows how to
00:45:09ride a motorcycle, but there's
00:45:10no urgency for Cooper to make
00:45:12that pass. Our two last lap
00:45:13around. Sexton was more than
00:45:14one second faster than race
00:45:16leader Ken Rockson. He's got
00:45:18the. He's got the speed and
00:45:20that's one of those attributes
00:45:22that. Makes Sexton so strong.
00:45:24Not only the ability never
00:45:25gives up and he just, man, he
00:45:27just, man, he just, man, he
00:45:29just, you know, he's got a
00:45:32quick. Here we go. Aaron
00:45:34placing a Dean Wilson. They
00:45:35were caught up in that first
00:45:36turn incident. Placing and no
00:45:38doubt would be fuming because
00:45:40he felt he had a chance to win
00:45:42this main event. Got a great
00:45:43start and there was just that
00:45:45bike to bike contact as he
00:45:46tries to get the inside of
00:45:47Dean Wilson. Get bike to
00:45:48bike contact with Shane
00:45:49McElrath and that pushed
00:45:50him out and when they all
00:45:52started to tumble. And he
00:45:53started to tumble and he
00:45:54started to tumble and he
00:45:55started to tumble and he
00:45:56started to tumble and he
00:45:57started to tumble and he
00:45:58with Shane McElrath and that
00:45:59pushed him out and when they
00:46:00all started to tumble. Yeah.
00:46:03Tough position. And if you
00:46:04look at the leaders that
00:46:05that leads aren't already
00:46:07come down between Ken rocks
00:46:08and in chase section. So
00:46:10again, long race to go.
00:46:15Justin Hill aboard the 46
00:46:16the team tenant KTM. The 14
00:46:18is Dylan Ferrandus. Ferrandus
00:46:20is coming off one of his best
00:46:22results of the year as well
00:46:23last weekend in Foxborough.
00:46:25Meanwhile, lead has been
00:46:27trimmed to 2.6 seconds. Roxxon
00:46:31over sexton. Yeah, they're
00:46:32making a ton of time. Coop
00:46:33was the fastest out of those
00:46:35three this past lap. He was a
00:46:3748. Oh, second fastest chase
00:46:39section 48 three to the 48
00:46:41seven Kenny, the third
00:46:43fastest guy. Man, that's
00:46:46actually getting very true.
00:46:47Yeah, then they come out and
00:46:48basically sitting on ice out
00:46:50of there. So still 12 minutes
00:46:52left in this race. This is
00:46:54going to change so much. Race is
00:46:57not even close to being over.
00:46:58Remember what Chase said. It's
00:46:59like they're going to be doing
00:47:01a lot of laps tonight. So this
00:47:03this track this track is going
00:47:04to continue to deteriorate. It
00:47:06very, very challenging will. So
00:47:09guys, I just want to fill you
00:47:10in some stuff last week at the
00:47:11top of the show. We talked
00:47:13about Cooper Webb that last lap
00:47:15and how much time he made up
00:47:16last week. And this will just
00:47:18explain how his brain works a
00:47:20little bit. When I was talking
00:47:22to the team, they said that
00:47:24when he was approaching that
00:47:25last lap, he was in seventh
00:47:26position. He knew the leader
00:47:27Aaron Blessinger was behind
00:47:28him. So he knew that if he
00:47:30got to the white flag, the
00:47:31worst he could get, the worst
00:47:32position would be seventh. So
00:47:34at that point, he decided then
00:47:36to get to the white flag. He
00:47:38a little bit and go for that
00:47:40last push in the last lap. The
00:47:41reason I tell you this is
00:47:42because the team themselves
00:47:43couldn't believe that he was
00:47:45that structured about his
00:47:46thinking with the conditions
00:47:47that the track can in front
00:47:48of him. And they said just a
00:47:49perfect way to explain how
00:47:52intelligent a racer he is and
00:47:53how he just stalks the way
00:47:55he does right now and knows
00:47:57when to strike. Fascinating
00:47:58story. Well, his final lap
00:48:00was about a minute. The
00:48:01last lap was about a minute.
00:48:03The last lap was about a
00:48:06faster than Sexton's who he
00:48:10caught past then got past
00:48:12Basha and then got past
00:48:13Roxton. It was crazy. That's
00:48:15how long those laps were
00:48:16taking in the mud in Fox
00:48:18right now. We have been
00:48:19watching this lead get trimmed
00:48:21and trimmed. And now you see
00:48:22first and second in the same
00:48:24shot, Roxton and Sexton. Yeah,
00:48:26that's what we always talking
00:48:27about with Cooper. That's
00:48:28impressive. And always say
00:48:30especially with me. I mean,
00:48:32we can have five out of four
00:48:34people struggle with that, but
00:48:35I can add finishing position on
00:48:36the podium over here. So
00:48:37Cooper, where it was able to
00:48:39add what's going on and just
00:48:40shows how determination he is
00:48:41and how where everything
00:48:43Jason was lost. Oh, Chase
00:48:45Spate messes up in the corner.
00:48:47He lost the front end and
00:48:49bike slips just a little bit,
00:48:50but still doesn't loses that
00:48:52much time to the leader and
00:48:55keeps a nice gap between
00:48:57himself and Cooper Webb.
00:49:00This guy's starting to turn down
00:49:05early. We are halfway through
00:49:09this 450 main event and every
00:49:11lap has been led by Ken Rocks
00:49:12and quick reminders stock up on
00:49:14monster energy drinks and
00:49:15Acme markets and a reminder
00:49:17too that at the end of this
00:49:18main event when we say goodbye
00:49:19here on NBC. We are far from done.
00:49:23We'll have a lot of post race
00:49:24coverage on Peacock. So if you
00:49:26haven't had enough super
00:49:28motocross this afternoon,
00:49:29stay with us because we'll
00:49:30bring you a whole lot more in
00:49:32our post race show on Peacock.
00:49:34Here's JT. Well, watching Ken Rocks
00:49:37in here. I just wonder how many
00:49:38laps he has in him at full
00:49:39strength here. Remember he
00:49:40separated his shoulder right
00:49:41behind before the Birmingham
00:49:43round and he's been dealing
00:49:44with the hurt ankle as well.
00:49:46So all of that leads him to
00:49:47compromise. He's going to
00:49:49lean on other areas of his
00:49:51body to soak up that effort
00:49:52because he simply is not at
00:49:54full strength and we saw that
00:49:55in Seattle. He was flicks and
00:49:57fast and early on in the race
00:49:59and early on in the race.
00:50:01We're going to be able to
00:50:03sustain that pace down the
00:50:06stretch that was made it past
00:50:07halfway. So surely his
00:50:08confidence is increasing with
00:50:10each rapid is going to be
00:50:12something to watch. And he
00:50:13keeps up this pace for the
00:50:14entire 20 minutes. The 30
00:50:17year old born in Germany who
00:50:18recently became a proud
00:50:20naturalized US citizen has been
00:50:23in control. And when you're
00:50:25riding with that adversity is
00:50:27Jason just detailed that it
00:50:29makes it even more remarkable
00:50:31how well Ken Rockson is doing on
00:50:33that progressive X star Suzuki.
00:50:36I can tell you as well as
00:50:38Kenny is doing and he's
00:50:39hanging on here. Chase is able
00:50:42to make the move and Kenny can
00:50:44somehow fight to the end. This
00:50:46is going to be a huge points
00:50:47day for chase sex and especially
00:50:50this time of the series when
00:50:51you rarely see stuff like this.
00:50:54Yeah, that was a good line,
00:50:55wasn't it?
00:50:59828 left on the clock plus a
00:51:00lap here comes Sexton. He's
00:51:02been looming and now he's close
00:51:04to making a move on rocks and
00:51:06up the inside. Yeah, I don't
00:51:08think Kenny's going to fight
00:51:09him too hard. These guys
00:51:10trained together during the
00:51:11week. So they're good friends.
00:51:13Now what chase needs to do is
00:51:14put in a couple good labs.
00:51:15Hopefully bring Cooper. So
00:51:16Cooper doesn't worry about going
00:51:17after you and just focuses on 94.
00:51:20Sure. Can might be a good friend
00:51:22and do his best that trying to
00:51:24hold that down to off. But you
00:51:26know how Cooper is and how
00:51:27strong he is towards enter the
00:51:28race. Chase Sexton is living
00:51:31and standing by his words. He
00:51:33said pre-race. I just have to go
00:51:35out there and win simple as that.
00:51:37And he felt good. He was in a
00:51:38positive mindset fastest qualifier
00:51:40at the speed and he's doing
00:51:42what he said he needed to do
00:51:44started the day 15 points and
00:51:4615 points in arrears of Cooper
00:51:48Webb in this championship fight
00:51:50that only has four rounds left
00:51:52after today as far as Monster
00:51:54Energy AMA Supercross and he
00:51:56would trim that 15 point
00:51:58disadvantage to just 10. Title
00:52:01stays well and truly alive. Oh
00:52:03yeah. We got when I was
00:52:06watching Sexton earlier today
00:52:08qualifying practice James and
00:52:10when I talked about how
00:52:11comfortably looked on the bike
00:52:13it just it wasn't like moving
00:52:15around a lot and I go back to
00:52:16that incredible wind that he
00:52:17had in Birmingham and just how
00:52:19rock solid not only he was
00:52:21riding but how well the bike was
00:52:22handling. I saw a lot of that
00:52:23and how he was riding today. Yeah
00:52:24And it's kind of the same
00:52:25conditions, you know, that's
00:52:26slippery, but has a little
00:52:28bit loose stuff on it and we
00:52:29know when Chase was in that
00:52:30spot when he has that clean
00:52:31air and he's not override the
00:52:32motorcycle kind of just
00:52:33letting it work for him. Him and
00:52:35that KTM is second to none. A
00:52:39little hiccup there. A little
00:52:40bubble for for rocks and. Oh,
00:52:43man, he's putting in some good
00:52:45laps. Jesus. And at this point,
00:52:47that's all they can do. And as I
00:53:03was saying, he just looks like
00:53:04he's not in a rush. Everything's
00:53:05just letting it come to him and
00:53:06he looked like that when he was
00:53:07catching Cooper a few weeks ago
00:53:08in Seattle, not in a rush. It
00:53:10wasn't until he was out front
00:53:11that things changed. So he's
00:53:13able to ride his own lines and
00:53:14stay clean. There's nobody on
00:53:16this track that can match that
00:53:18pace. Ricky right at the top of
00:53:19the show. You said Chase
00:53:21Sexton brings some of his best
00:53:23results in the last five races
00:53:25of a season. Well, here we go.
00:53:27He's leading with less than six
00:53:29minutes to go plus a lap and
00:53:30we're in the last five races of
00:53:32the season. Matter of fact, 25
00:53:34percent of his wins come in the
00:53:37last five races of the season.
00:53:42Heads are running by Dean
00:53:43Wilson to take a look over it
00:53:45because it looked like they were
00:53:46going to come close to each
00:53:47other, but these lappers, you
00:53:49know that they're incredible
00:53:51riders and they know what's at
00:53:53stake and they know how
00:53:54important this championship is
00:53:55and they don't want to
00:53:56interfere with these guys.
00:54:01Look at that Eric Plessinger
00:54:02battle for ninth. Did a good
00:54:04job of making his way out, but
00:54:06sure has. It's going to be a
00:54:09what could have been tonight.
00:54:10I'm sure if he no matter where
00:54:11he finished, he's going to be
00:54:12bummed because he definitely
00:54:13had the speed to win. Showed
00:54:14that in that heat race and he's
00:54:15seen his teammate out front.
00:54:17Come from the back of the pack
00:54:19to be in the top ten mighty
00:54:21effort. So to Justin Cooper was
00:54:23involved in that turn one
00:54:24incident as well. Cooper's
00:54:25worked his way up to seven
00:54:27behind Dylan Frander's having one
00:54:29of his best showings of the year.
00:54:30Joey Savace awesome in the top
00:54:32five. Yeah, that's a great ride
00:54:34for Joey Savace and that quad
00:54:36lock Honda team, especially
00:54:38considering that nasty crash that
00:54:39he had back in Indianapolis. So
00:54:42it was a horrific crash. So
00:54:44took a couple weeks off and he's
00:54:45back out here and he got a great
00:54:48start. Joey's a fantastic rider.
00:54:50So kind of not a surprise to see
00:54:52him right so well. That's going
00:54:54to be his best result of this
00:54:552025 season. If he can hang in
00:54:56there for four and a half more
00:54:58minutes plus a lap. Here goes
00:55:00placing a on Benny Bloss. That's
00:55:02for eighth place as he drifts
00:55:04past the liquid Molly beta
00:55:05rider.
00:55:07He's got Justin Cooper about a
00:55:09couple seconds in front of him,
00:55:10so he can make his way up. Okay,
00:55:14back up front. Here's Chase
00:55:15Sexton. 3.3 seconds ahead of
00:55:18title rival Cooper Webb. Yeah,
00:55:20Cooper's not letting them go.
00:55:22Nice. He's definitely keeping
00:55:23him honest, but uh, Chase is
00:55:25doing a great job being able to
00:55:27navigate his way through the
00:55:29lappers, not letting him go.
00:55:31He's definitely keeping him
00:55:32honest, but uh, Chase is doing
00:55:34a great job being able to
00:55:36do the lappers not lose too much
00:55:39time and just maintain this gap
00:55:41right here.
00:55:44Let's take a look at the UFO
00:55:46class moment of the race.
00:55:49And it's the most important one
00:55:50as far as Chase Sexton is
00:55:51concerned. The moment he made
00:55:53the move on Ken Rockson. Yeah,
00:55:54I've got up to inside of them
00:55:56and now all he has to do is
00:55:57control it down to the next one.
00:55:59So nice move. Kenny didn't
00:56:01fight him too much, but at the
00:56:02same time, RCA really have an
00:56:03option. Chase was there. Yeah,
00:56:05he was a beautiful pass. Had the
00:56:08line, got a good drive out of
00:56:09the corner.
00:56:13So if you can maintain this
00:56:15lead, he'll pick up his fourth
00:56:17win of the year to add to Anaheim
00:56:19A1 to kick the year off and then
00:56:21in Glendale and then in
00:56:23Birmingham, he'll draw level with
00:56:24Cooper webb with four wins on
00:56:26the season.
00:56:30And be 12 points behind heading
00:56:32to East Rutherford, New Jersey
00:56:34next weekend.
00:56:40Part of this historic four
00:56:42consecutive weekends here in the
00:56:44Northeast of the United States.
00:56:46Never been done before.
00:56:48He's continuing to build on his lead
00:56:50too, James. And as you know, the
00:56:52further you get out ahead, the
00:56:54easier it is to maintain that
00:56:56lead and the less hard you have
00:56:58to ride and then your risk for
00:57:00falling or something happening
00:57:02goes down. And he's definitely
00:57:04earned this position. He's wrote
00:57:06an incredible main event. He's
00:57:07been great all day long.
00:57:08Mention New Jersey next week. After
00:57:09that, it's off to Pittsburgh for
00:57:10that fourth consecutive weekend
00:57:11then heading to Denver, Colorado
00:57:13and the traditional Salt Lake
00:57:15City finale for Monster Energy
00:57:17Supercross. But remember, it's
00:57:18all 31 rounds of the SMX World
00:57:20Championship. 17 of the Supercross
00:57:22will be done by then. Then it's
00:57:23on to pro motocross and then
00:57:25the SMX playoffs and championship
00:57:27world championship finale.
00:57:31What do you see that you like, James?
00:57:42I mean, I see Chase looking like
00:57:44he does during the week. You
00:57:45know, I've had a chance to watch
00:57:46him ride a few times and have
00:57:48some conversations with him. I
00:57:50mean, when the guy gets in his
00:57:51zone and he's able to just put
00:57:53these put the track together. And
00:57:55I think one thing Chase does
00:57:56really good on this KTM is he
00:57:58gets into rhythm. He puts the
00:58:00track together instead of like
00:58:01putting it in pieces like
00:58:03sections here and there. He's
00:58:04able to ride the track as a as
00:58:06one piece, just like if you're
00:58:07watching Formula One, those guys
00:58:09set up corners to set up two
00:58:11corners later to get to this one.
00:58:12And I think Chase does that
00:58:13very well. And when he's in the
00:58:15mode like he is today, if you
00:58:17notice he's going from left to
00:58:18right to left the right. There's
00:58:20no rush. He's putting this
00:58:21track together and it's very
00:58:23difficult. I love what I see
00:58:25and it looks like he does every
00:58:26day of the week when I ever
00:58:27when I get a chance to watch
00:58:28him ride Ricky relaxed. Is that
00:58:31a word? Yeah, just relaxed and
00:58:32confident and and the thing
00:58:33about it is I believe that his
00:58:35competitors know that he is
00:58:37this good and he could do rise
00:58:39like this. But again, I just go
00:58:41back to what James was saying
00:58:42how he just never breaks his
00:58:43momentum. He's putting the
00:58:45whole track together in the
00:58:46bike. It's a testament to not
00:58:47only how well he's riding, but
00:58:49that bike looks really balanced
00:58:50to me. Doesn't look like it's,
00:58:51you know, nose heavy or too
00:58:53rip too low with the rear. It
00:58:56just it's just driving on the
00:58:57track. He's left all the way up
00:58:59tonight. Marin placing and his
00:59:00teammate is the last remaining
00:59:02rider on the lead lab. That's
00:59:04how smooth and fast and efficient
00:59:06it has been. I think for the
00:59:08mental side to that needs to be
00:59:13mentioned, not only for for
00:59:15sexton is how he's able to keep
00:59:17going, you know, even though
00:59:19maybe he's not in the point
00:59:20sleeve, but he's never given up.
00:59:21I go to the championship said
00:59:23he's one that he's lost. He's
00:59:25always there despite how the
00:59:27season is going. Yeah, you know
00:59:29who that reminds us are good
00:59:32friend Chad Reed. Yeah, you know
00:59:33that same attitude just no
00:59:34matter what happens. The guy's
00:59:36just always going to be there
00:59:37and you know, you think about
00:59:38all the things that's happened.
00:59:40The chase is easy to be like
00:59:42go back to Dallas, you know,
00:59:43throwing away to win and then
00:59:44a couple weeks ago in Seattle
00:59:46having to win being the fastest
00:59:48Cooper Webbs getting them. But
00:59:49look, this guy's here and he
00:59:51fights and every year, every
00:59:53year, every year, every year,
00:59:54and every year, every year,
00:59:56and every year, every year,
00:59:58and every year, every weekend.
01:00:00He's always a threat to win
01:00:01and it's just beautiful to
01:00:02watch. Special little
01:00:06historical nugget too for Ken
01:00:08Rockson. He's going to leave
01:00:10you Stu on 75 podiums. He's
01:00:12going to go to 76. He's going
01:00:13to leave you and Kevin Windham
01:00:15leapfrog ahead. Check it flag
01:00:17is out. Chase Sexton in
01:00:18Philadelphia. Championship is
01:00:21still alive. Top two in the
01:00:25championship finish in the
01:00:27top two. Webb loses three points
01:00:31in his advantage over Sexton.
01:00:34Four rounds to go and it is
01:00:36still game on. Ken Rockson
01:00:38riding injured, riding wounded
01:00:40will stand on the podium for the
01:00:4276th time in his career. What a
01:00:45legend and what a ride. Sexton is
01:00:49pumped. Some good sportsmanship
01:00:52there between the two title rivals.
01:00:55And Webb says, I'll see you in New
01:00:56Jersey when we get a chance to do
01:00:58it again. Just incredible. Look at
01:01:03these two guys are buddies. Great job
01:01:07by Kenny. Yeah. To stick it out.
01:01:09Difficult track. I mean just keeps
01:01:11hammering it away. I'm pumped for
01:01:13him. Sexton said before today, I've
01:01:17got to go out there and win to keep
01:01:19this thing alive. He did what he said
01:01:22he was going to do. Last week was
01:01:26rough. In the mud. But he is clean. He
01:01:33is clean here in Philadelphia. Sexton
01:01:36the winner over Web and Rockson. Well
01:01:38done Malcolm Stewart. Another good
01:01:39top five. And Joey Savace best
01:01:41result of the season. Yeah, that was
01:01:43again a great ride. We talked about
01:01:45a little bit during the midway of the
01:01:48race. He took a gnarly crash and he
01:01:52had to take a couple of weeks off.
01:01:54Definitely a great bounce back. Didn't
01:01:57qualify last week in the mud. Here we
01:01:59go. Speaking of comebacks, Cooper
01:02:01Ferrandus Plessinger 6th, 7th and 8th.
01:02:03They were all involved in that first
01:02:05turn incident. That's for the other
01:02:08places. The big one that counts, the
01:02:11winner, Chase Sexton. Let's hear from
01:02:14him with Will Christian. That's right
01:02:16caught up with him down here. Lee is
01:02:18you getting congratulated there by
01:02:19your teammate. Chase, congratulations
01:02:21the way you rode all day. This just
01:02:24seems to have a sense of importance
01:02:25about it. How does it set you up for
01:02:27the four rounds remaining? Yeah, five
01:02:29rounds to go. It's time to make a
01:02:31break and I felt great all day and
01:02:33that's how you do it. One, one, one,
01:02:34one, one. So looking forward to the
01:02:37next race. But yeah, today was
01:02:38awesome. Good dry track. Not like
01:02:40last weekend and feeling good on the
01:02:42bike, man. It's been fun and say it
01:02:44was a good step in the right
01:02:45direction. Cut that points lead.
01:02:47Congratulations. Step in the right
01:02:48direction for sure because 15 points
01:02:52becomes 12. The advantage web has over
01:02:59the race winner today with four to go. The
01:03:03pressure cooker. It's not releasing
01:03:05much pressure. It is still on.
01:03:09You know you did me wrong. Just one more
01:03:13cup of coffee before I go. I know I
01:03:17better stop and cut the show. I'll leave
01:03:21you all the memories and go. I'ma go
01:03:24two hours conversation.
