00:00A good result today, and there is Kaz Valk, the former British champion, now riding for the Van Renrooy KTM racing machine, the number 172, and Valk, who looked very good on British soil last season, and certainly making a good start to the 2025 season, currently sitting 8th in the championship on 120 points, but MX2 Moto number 1 is about to get underway, riders are in position on the gate.
00:27It's that first corner left-hander, relatively wide first corner, so good opportunity to get out of the gate early, and try and grab their all-important hole shot, as the riders now in position, looks like everyone ready, as we wait for the fly racing, 15 second board that goes up Moto number 1 for MX2, is about to get underway, so Liam Evertz, he won the qualifying race yesterday, can he go one better in the first Moto, and grab that first Moto,
00:57victory, 5 second board goes up, looks like it's going to be a very competitive race, a bit more wet today, so the start, we're very important, oh, as one rider caught the back out, wheel there, looks like Cam McClellan getting a good drive out of the first corner,
01:12and it looks like Cam McClellan on the triumph, will get the whole shot, Kaz Valka also well placed Adamo in there as well, but as you can see, it's quite wet today, trouble at the back of the field, a few riders going down,
01:25the start being very important, but looks like McClellan has gone away quite cleanly at this stage,
01:31and the number 8, the South African, on the triumph, leads them up the bank for the first time,
01:38making their way up towards the first sector, there's Kaz Valka in there as well, the number 22,
01:47David Brassaras, the Spaniard, in there as well, on the JM Honda,
01:51so that was Lata as well, also getting well placed, Adamo, Evertz in 4th position,
01:57there is Evertz, the number 26,
01:59just getting past Brassaras,
02:01Limo Benestant also getting away well,
02:03and Kyrie Wolfe not quite the start you wanted, there he is,
02:05the number 1, but he is in the top 10, just ahead of Jens Valvoort, the number 489,
02:10I was thinking Ryslis a little bit further behind,
02:12Sacha Curran down in 15th position as well,
02:15and Lotte Van Drunen in there as well,
02:19she's currently in the points on the first lap,
02:20Simon Lengenfeld though down in 14th,
02:22not the start he would have wanted,
02:24and there is Van Drunen just on the edge of the points in 24th as they make their way through,
02:29not quite a mud, you would say, but certainly very wet out there,
02:32and it would certainly be a good day to get a clean start here,
02:36and that was that Klan McClellan has certainly done that as he makes his way through,
02:40heading towards the far end of the circuit now,
02:45Valerio Lata,
02:47the young Italian rider,
02:48Fast track through of course into the HRC team,
02:54and he's running strongly in 2nd position,
02:56and he's running strongly in 2nd position,
02:56and he's running strongly in 2nd position,
02:57and he's running strongly in 2nd position,
02:58and he's running strongly in 2nd position,
03:00and he's running in 3rd,
03:00Edmonton Brassler are still there in 5th place as McLaren goes through,
03:05heading towards the end of the 1st lap,
03:06trying to break away here,
03:07as he goes through the gap,
03:09around 1.4 seconds from Lotte in 2nd place,
03:11but what a brilliant ride for Valerio Lata in 2nd position,
03:15the HRC Honda factory rider,
03:16as he makes his way through,
03:19Edmonton Brassler is still there in 4th,
03:20and the number 83,
03:22Maxime Gros,
03:23the French rider on the WZ racing KTM,
03:25as Kaido Wolfe starts to make inroads into the top 10,
03:28gets past Gros,
03:29so he'll move up into 6th position now,
03:31got Rick Elzing of the Dutchman,
03:33Benestan Reiselis in there as well,
03:34Simon Langenfelder,
03:35bad start for the Red Bull KTM factory rider,
03:38in these early stages,
03:40and with the weather,
03:42a little bit wet out,
03:43they won't want to get filled in by the top 10,
03:45so look out for the number 27,
03:46Langenfelder,
03:47as the Bavarian tries to make his way through the field,
03:51and there we see Kaido Wolfe,
03:54proudly displaying that red plate series leader,
03:56and the reigning number one,
03:58reigning champion from last year,
03:59of course,
04:01but he will be determined to try,
04:02and get back through the field there,
04:03but it's just ahead of him,
04:04his main title rival,
04:06main title rival in the early stages,
04:10to Valerio Lata,
04:11who narrowly missed out,
04:12on the MX250s last year,
04:15former 85cc world champion,
04:21joining Perukio Zanki,
04:23this year,
04:24in the HRC,
04:26factory Honda team,
04:27but Cam McClellan still,
04:28leading the way at this stage,
04:29trying to break away from Lata,
04:30has had a brilliant start,
04:31to this moto in second position,
04:33there is DeWolf,
04:36rest of the top 10,
04:37making their way through,
04:39and Volkro,
04:40and Elzinga,
04:41not quite the start,
04:42the factory Yamaha riders,
04:43would have wanted there,
04:43with Elzinga and Rises,
04:44battling to try,
04:45and get through,
04:46into the top 10,
04:47we'll try and have a look,
04:50on the inside of David Raceras,
04:51on the JM Honda,
04:55under the tutors,
04:56of course,
04:56of Jackie Martins,
04:581993,
05:00open class world champion,
05:01and the rider,
05:02who really heralded,
05:04the beginning of the four stroke age,
05:05winning the open class,
05:06on the Husqvarna,
05:07back in 1993,
05:08and of course Husqvarna,
05:10now under the guidance of,
05:11KTM under the ownership,
05:13really making inroads in,
05:15MX2 winning the,
05:17world title last year,
05:19the first time,
05:19the Husqvarna had won the,
05:21what was formerly the,
05:22125cc championship,
05:24since the late 1990s,
05:25with,
05:26Alessio Chiodi,
05:27but at the moment,
05:30McClellan just trying to,
05:31break away from Latter,
05:32in second place,
05:32Adamo third,
05:33so Italian two and three,
05:35in the home soil,
05:37as they try to make their way,
05:39up towards first place,
05:40but Kaida Wolf,
05:41still charging hard,
05:42behind in sixth position,
05:43behind Raceras,
05:43pulling away from Volk now,
05:45slightly,
05:47still a long way to go,
05:48in this race,
05:4825 minutes plus the two laps to go,
05:50in moto number one,
05:51here at Trentino,
05:57so you can look,
06:00at the number one,
06:01of Kaida Wolf here,
06:02just looking for lines,
06:03at this stage,
06:03we'll watch him,
06:04as he makes his way,
06:04through the rollers,
06:05you can just see him,
06:07just trying to go,
06:08different line there,
06:10to Raceras in front,
06:11as Liam Evitz,
06:11tries to close up,
06:12on Adamo,
06:13but look,
06:14at the number eight,
06:14of the factory triumph,
06:15of Cam McClellan,
06:16the cleanest bike out there,
06:18he's had a clear track,
06:19in front of him so far,
06:22and the day glow,
06:23Thor riding gear,
06:24just makes him look,
06:24even more glistling,
06:25out at the front,
06:26as he really is,
06:27just starting to pull,
06:29an extra few tenths away,
06:30from Lanter,
06:31in second place,
06:33the best result,
06:35of second place,
06:36last weekend,
06:36at Sardinia,
06:37he'll be determined,
06:38to try and go,
06:38one better,
06:40and get triumph there,
06:41first victory,
06:42of 2025,
06:43he's currently,
06:43seventh in the standing,
06:44so,
06:46good start him so far,
06:47I just saw Brasos,
06:48catch the kicker there,
06:49didn't quite set him up,
06:49for the corner so well,
06:51and Kaida Wolf,
06:52didn't need a second invitation,
06:53there to make his way through,
06:54as he sweeps,
06:55past the pit area,
06:55and there's that,
07:01so,
07:02berm just developing,
07:03you would say,
07:03on the inside of the corner,
07:04they've got to get the line choice right there,
07:06no one really going,
07:07for the big triple,
07:07as the race goes into its,
07:09early stages here,
07:11the grip,
07:11not quite there,
07:12on the smaller MX2 machines,
07:13so,
07:16Farukhio Zanke,
07:17down in 15th position,
07:18at this stage,
07:19number 73,
07:20not the start,
07:21he would have wanted,
07:23ninth in the series,
07:24but,
07:24he took a moto win,
07:26in Spain,
07:27earlier in the season,
07:27but he'll be determined,
07:28to try and get further,
07:29through the field,
07:30maybe he was one of the riders,
07:31caught up,
07:32in that first corner,
07:33from L.A.,
07:33so,
07:33McClellan leading,
07:342.8 seconds from Lata,
07:36in second place,
07:36Adamo third,
07:37Everts fourth,
07:38the riders we're looking at,
07:39Rassaras and Kaida Wolf,
07:41fifth and sixth,
07:42Kaz Valk,
07:43a little bit further behind,
07:43from Maxime Groh,
07:44Rick Alzinga,
07:45and Karl Litzreisler,
07:47running out the top ten,
07:48as we look,
07:49at Adamo,
07:50the former MX2 champion,
07:51his title defense last year,
07:53not really going,
07:54the way he would have wanted,
07:55but he started the season,
07:57rightly at this stage,
07:58fourth in the series,
07:59thus far,
07:59and not in,
08:02only about 20 points,
08:03after the qualifying race,
08:04yesterday behind Kaida Wolf,
08:05so he's certainly,
08:06well in contention here,
08:08and this is exactly,
08:09where he would want to be,
08:10what a brilliant ride though,
08:11so far for Valerio Lata,
08:12in second place,
08:18number 18,
08:20part of the two,
08:22HRC factory Honda youngsters,
08:23firstly Dirk,
08:25it's great to see you back,
08:26but let's talk a little bit,
08:27about Andrea Adamo,
08:28special track for him,
08:29obviously it's a home GP,
08:31and he won his first ever,
08:32overall victory here,
08:33in his championship winning year,
08:35is he going to make inroads,
08:36and what's his feedback,
08:38well,
08:39I mean this track,
08:39always have been good,
08:40to KTM riders,
08:42and I mean Andrea,
08:44at the moment,
08:44playing in P3,
08:46but it's just the beginning,
08:47of the race,
08:48with his ability,
08:49and also know to win here,
08:51I think it's still,
08:52a lot of possible,
08:53and being a home GP,
08:55for these riders,
08:56is extra motivation,
08:57and they have like,
08:58one horsepower more,
08:59many times,
08:59so let's see,
09:00what a day will bring,
09:01but in a good way,
09:02you did say,
09:03it's been a good track,
09:04for KTM riders,
09:05quite a magical track,
09:06for KTM riders,
09:07you've got a fantastic,
09:08track history around here,
09:10why is that do you think?
09:11I don't know,
09:12I mean,
09:13we had a lot of Italian riders,
09:15like with Tony,
09:16winning here many times,
09:17but also Jeffrey,
09:18and then,
09:19Renny Hofer,
09:19won his first GP here,
09:21what was kind of magic,
09:22for him,
09:23and it's just,
09:24I don't know,
09:25it's,
09:26you need quite some horsepower,
09:27here you need good traction,
09:29and if we have the package together,
09:31looks like for it,
09:32and it favours us.
09:33Best luck to the team,
09:34thank you Doug.
09:39So we can see now,
09:40the battle of the Italians,
09:41in second and third lap,
09:42and in second place,
09:43Adamo third,
09:46as trouble there,
09:47for Carlos Reisler,
09:47in the pits,
09:48on the factory Yamaha,
09:49looking at the rear wheel there,
09:50where the,
09:51the calipers jammed,
09:54or whatever,
09:55he's in the pits,
09:55getting some emergency repairs,
09:57they'll hopefully get him back,
09:58into the race,
09:58but,
10:00very rare of course,
10:02to see riders going,
10:03into the pits,
10:03during an MX,
10:05two moto,
10:07unless there's a problem,
10:08so quite evidently,
10:09Reisler is getting some repairs,
10:11in the pits,
10:11that's going to drop him,
10:12way down the field,
10:14as the race goes on,
10:15not the start of the season,
10:16he would have wanted really,
10:17Reisler's hoping,
10:20to be up towards,
10:21the sharp end,
10:22of the championship,
10:22in 2025,
10:24but had a difficult,
10:25start of the season,
10:25thus far,
10:26look at Everett,
10:26here in fourth place,
10:27winner of the qualifying race,
10:28yesterday,
10:29who looks to me,
10:31like he's just starting,
10:32to close up,
10:33on Adamo,
10:34and later,
10:34the battle of the second place,
10:36Everett setting,
10:37his fastest lap of the race,
10:38151.529,
10:40he's setting,
10:40a really strong pace,
10:41thus far,
10:42and look at that,
10:43leap for Lata,
10:44over the triple jump,
10:46you've really got to get,
10:47that corner before,
10:48absolutely nailed,
10:49on the burn,
10:50and get the drive up the hill,
10:51to clear that jump,
10:52and he's just pulled away,
10:53slightly from Adamo,
10:54there's Reisler's back,
10:55into action there,
10:56number 47,
10:58but he will be,
10:59right at the back of the field,
11:00and the Monster Energy,
11:01factory Yamaha,
11:02let's see if he can salvage,
11:03some points,
11:04from Moto number one,
11:05as we focus,
11:06on this battle,
11:07for second place,
11:09and McLellan,
11:09nicely clear,
11:10the gap around,
11:11three seconds,
11:11between first,
11:12and second place,
11:13going up to around,
11:13and 4.1,
11:14on the previous lap,
11:16so you would,
11:18certainly there is,
11:19McLellan at the top,
11:20of the screen there,
11:20just going through,
11:21the right hand,
11:21he can see the gap,
11:22Lata trying to break away,
11:23from this battle,
11:24of second place,
11:24there's Kylie Wolf,
11:25who's now clear,
11:26in fifth place,
11:27of course,
11:27so most,
11:29of the big hitters,
11:30in MX2,
11:31have gone away nicely,
11:32as the race goes on,
11:33Simon Langenfeld,
11:34were down,
11:35in 11th position,
11:36at this stage,
11:37remember he was tied,
11:37on point of evidence,
11:38going into this first Moto,
11:42so he'll be determined,
11:43to try and get through,
11:44and just move,
11:46into the top 10,
11:47as the second part,
11:48of the Moto,
11:48draws on,
11:49McLellan looking,
11:50quite smooth at the moment,
11:51Lata to me,
11:52though,
11:52is putting some nice lines,
11:53together,
11:53number 18,
11:54in second place,
11:55and,
11:56well the gap going down,
11:58to three seconds,
11:59on the previous lap,
12:00we'll have a look,
12:00when they come round next time,
12:01to see if he's,
12:02clawed any more back,
12:04on McLellan,
12:08McLellan of course,
12:08the South African,
12:09he's at that stage,
12:10three seconds,
12:11it's,
12:11still a bit of pressure,
12:13for him here,
12:14he's just going to run,
12:14his own race,
12:15he's not too worried,
12:16about riders,
12:16battling for position,
12:17at this stage,
12:18he has got a small cushion,
12:19but he certainly can't afford,
12:20any kind of a mistake here,
12:22Lata is starting,
12:23to pull away here,
12:24I'm just going to look,
12:24at the lap times here,
12:25I believe,
12:26he has set his own,
12:27personal best there,
12:28150.692,
12:30last time round,
12:30and Lata,
12:31the race just started,
12:32to come towards him,
12:32at this stage,
12:34there's Evert,
12:37over the huge,
12:38triple jump lead,
12:41of course,
12:42a little bit different,
12:43this year,
12:43seeing him without,
12:44his trademark,
12:44number 72,
12:45switching to,
12:46the number 26,
12:47this year,
12:47new start for him,
12:48on the Husqvarna,
12:48as we look at,
12:50Kernan,
12:50starting to make,
12:51his way through as well,
12:51Benistan,
12:52there is Langenfelder,
12:53number 27,
12:55another one going,
12:56for the huge leap there,
12:57Kernan,
12:59so Langenfelder,
13:01two Red Bull riders,
13:02just outside,
13:03of the top 10,
13:03at this stage,
13:04Kernan,
13:04the Belgian,
13:04in 11th position,
13:07and there is Langenfelder,
13:09didn't get a good start,
13:10and currently,
13:11in 12th position,
13:12Farouk Yosaki,
13:13just starting to move,
13:14his way through the field,
13:14he's up to 13th,
13:16just behind Langenfelder,
13:17at this stage,
13:17Wade Yellows,
13:18now who's that,
13:19that's gone down,
13:22that was,
13:23Priniers,
13:24I think,
13:25the number 319,
13:26on the WZ Racing,
13:27KTM,
13:28the Frenchman going down,
13:29from 9th position,
13:30so that will be,
13:31a gimme somewhat there,
13:33for the number 27,
13:34of Langenfelder,
13:36as we cast our attention,
13:37back to the start,
13:39brilliant start,
13:41from the centre,
13:42they get there from McLaren,
13:43sweeping around the outside,
13:45just cut the front end,
13:46of Lata,
13:47into the first corner,
13:48to snatch the whole shot,
13:49and Lata doing very well,
13:50to make sure he kept that front end,
13:51under control,
13:55and that was,
13:56that was Langenfelder,
13:57that touched the back wheel,
13:58going down the start straight,
13:59so that's the reason,
14:00why he's had a bad start,
14:01he was almost in last place,
14:02going into the first corner,
14:04and Langenfelder perhaps,
14:06lucky to stay on the machine,
14:07down the start straight,
14:08and he does battle,
14:12with his young Belgian teammate there,
14:15the number 19,
14:15of Sasha Kernan,
14:16to Red Bull,
14:20KTM's trying to make inroads,
14:21into the top 10,
14:22at this stage,
14:23as Langenfelder now,
14:24closing up on Beniston,
14:25Kernan now clear,
14:26he's up to 9th position,
14:27here's Beniston,
14:32and Raquel Zinger,
14:34the third of the factory,
14:36Yamaha riders,
14:37Montenegi Yamaha riders,
14:38just a little bit further ahead,
14:40so Kahn McClellan,
14:41losing a bit of ground,
14:42at the moment,
14:42to the second place,
14:43Lata,
14:44who's pulling away,
14:45slightly,
14:45from Adamo,
14:46young Italian,
14:50Valerio Lata,
14:52did finish in the top 3,
14:54in Italy last season,
14:55he's had a couple,
14:56of good wild card rides,
14:57in MX2,
14:58but now really starting,
14:59to stake his claim here,
15:00currently 10th,
15:01in the championship,
15:02he's had some,
15:03good results so far,
15:04this year,
15:05but this is certainly,
15:05the first time,
15:06you'd put him as a,
15:07a race win challenger,
15:09what can he do,
15:11he is starting to close up,
15:12on McClellan though,
15:14McClellan has led,
15:14the entire moto,
15:16everyone just starting,
15:17just settling to rhythm now,
15:19as the track gets a little,
15:19bit gnarly in place,
15:20you can see the ruts,
15:21already starting to develop,
15:22in moto number one here,
15:24cloudy and wet morning,
15:26quite cool here,
15:27at Trentino,
15:28possibility of rain,
15:29later on today,
15:30so this is going to be,
15:31a tough challenging circuit,
15:33for the riders,
15:34throughout the afternoon,
15:35running the first moto,
15:36you can really see,
15:37the track is starting to cut up,
15:38and get a little bit,
15:39tricky in places,
15:40there's McClellan,
15:41the race leader,
15:42Lata's second,
15:43it was 2.7 seconds,
15:44I think the Gatton,
15:45may have gone down slightly,
15:46but he's just started,
15:47to break away,
15:48from Adamo,
15:49in third place,
15:51and Mx2,
15:53moto number one,
15:54now approaching,
15:55the half distance,
16:00riders making their way,
16:02past the pit area now,
16:03Sam McClellan leading,
16:04we'll have a look at the gap,
16:05it's gone down to 2.3 seconds,
16:07Lata keeping the pressure on,
16:10there's Evert,
16:10still handily placed,
16:12in fourth position,
16:13but the red plate holder,
16:14and his teammate,
16:15Kaido Wolff,
16:16just behind him,
16:18all well placed,
16:21in fifth position,
16:23took the double moto win,
16:25last weekend,
16:26of course,
16:26and he took,
16:26the first moto,
16:27of 2025 in Argentina,
16:29as he looks,
16:30to secure his title defense,
16:31and he's just,
16:36ever so slightly,
16:37starting to close up,
16:38on his teammate,
16:39Evertz here,
16:39he will know,
16:40of course,
16:40that he will,
16:41desperately,
16:42trying to stay,
16:43ahead of Evertz here,
16:44because he doesn't want,
16:44to lose too many points,
16:45to him,
16:46viewpoint swings,
16:47here and there,
16:47could make all the difference,
16:48towards the end of the season,
16:49so Evertz of course,
16:53the third generation,
16:54of the Evertz family,
16:56in world motocross,
16:57the question there,
17:00of course,
17:00is could he be,
17:01the first,
17:02third generation champion,
17:03Harry Evertz,
17:04former world champion,
17:06his son Stefan Evertz,
17:08multiple world champion,
17:10of course,
17:10and Liam Evertz,
17:11who's really battled back,
17:13well from that neck injury,
17:14last year in China,
17:16really has hit the grand running,
17:17in 2025,
17:19as you can see,
17:21just how tough,
17:21the circuit is there,
17:22Kai DeWolf going wide,
17:23on the outside line there,
17:24and that grip,
17:25wasn't quite there,
17:26that he was expecting,
17:27on the outside,
17:27almost washed out,
17:28he had the momentum,
17:29to carry through,
17:30and just starting,
17:31to keep that pressure on Evertz,
17:33there's Lata,
17:33Adamo's still third,
17:36Evertz fourth,
17:37DeWolf fifth,
17:37Brasserah still in sixth,
17:38Kasvold,
17:39running strongly,
17:40in that seventh position,
17:40Rick Alzinga,
17:41the two Dutchmen there,
17:42then seventh and eighth place,
17:43then is Sasha Koen,
17:45Benestam tenth,
17:46Langenfeld is still only 11,
17:47still not the result,
17:48he would have wanted,
17:49at this stage,
17:49Zanki 12th,
17:50another rider,
17:51who didn't really,
17:51get out so well,
17:53at the start of moto,
17:54number one here,
17:55Prineas recovering to 13th,
17:56Julius Michele,
17:57on the Italian TM machine,
17:58great to see TM back,
17:59in world championship,
18:00motocross,
18:01he's currently in 14th position,
18:02means Valvoort,
18:04Suleimani in 16th,
18:07Glipp Olsen,
18:07Magnus Nielsen,
18:09Magnus Smith,
18:10Samuel Nielsen,
18:11and Oriol Olivier,
18:12breaking into the top 20,
18:13at this stage,
18:13that's your point runners,
18:14so far,
18:15Lottie van Drunen,
18:18one of the select few riders,
18:20who's got points,
18:21as a female rider,
18:22she's currently in 24th,
18:24as we look at that pass again,
18:25though,
18:25from Andrea Adamo,
18:26spectacular stuff,
18:27over the triple jump,
18:29so he moves into second place,
18:30now that's sometimes,
18:31what we've got to do,
18:31just get that line,
18:32out of the corner,
18:34and get it absolutely nailed,
18:36so brilliant pass there,
18:37from Adamo,
18:37to second place,
18:39and you see on that triple jump,
18:43you do sometimes,
18:43see those passes,
18:44oddly reminiscent,
18:46you would say,
18:47of the pass,
18:48that George Jobay,
18:49made at Hawkstone Park,
18:50in 1984,
18:51on Andre Malheur,
18:54when he leapt over the double jump,
18:57as we plan the outside,
18:58of Lottie van Drunen,
18:59and I think she's hit trouble,
19:00she's gone a lap down,
19:01at this stage,
19:01rising up to 29th,
19:09so it looks like,
19:11at this stage,
19:12Valerio Lata,
19:12just starting to fade,
19:14we saw that spectacular pass,
19:15there from Andrea Adamo,
19:16Everts has now,
19:17gone through to third place,
19:18and Lata coming under some pressure,
19:19now from Kai DeWolf,
19:20who goes down the inside,
19:23and should get the line,
19:24out of the corner,
19:25yes he does,
19:26so DeWolf now,
19:27moves up a position,
19:28Lata drops to fifth position,
19:31Rastra still in six,
19:32so let's see,
19:33can Valerio Lata,
19:34tag on to this leading group,
19:35of riders,
19:35the two,
19:36Nistan,
19:38Husqvarna factory riders,
19:39now,
19:40through cleanly,
19:40from the HRC factory,
19:42Honda rider,
19:43of course,
19:44all this goes on,
19:45Cam McClellan,
19:45has just started,
19:46to break away,
19:47yet again,
19:47the gap goes up,
19:48to 4.4 seconds,
19:50and Cam McClellan,
19:51on the triumph,
19:53can he get,
19:54his first moto win,
19:55of 2025,
20:00and there you can see,
20:03just starting,
20:04to get a little bit more difficult,
20:05over that triple jump,
20:06as the race goes on,
20:06the grip,
20:07not quite out there,
20:08as we focus,
20:09on this battle,
20:09with the Nistan,
20:10Husqvarna factory team,
20:11and of course,
20:14with the battle,
20:14between teammates,
20:15it does throw,
20:15an extra dynamic,
20:17they certainly,
20:17won't to be,
20:18won't want to be,
20:19bar banging,
20:19too much,
20:20and just taking,
20:21each other out here,
20:22but it looks to me,
20:23like the momentum,
20:25is just starting,
20:26to fall behind,
20:26Kaida Wolf here,
20:27Kaida Wolf of course,
20:32who originates,
20:33from the,
20:33famous Dutch town,
20:35in motocross circles,
20:36of Volkansford,
20:3720 years old,
20:39and last year,
20:41really started,
20:42to come good,
20:43with the promise,
20:43that he,
20:44had a few years,
20:45prior in EMX,
20:46was always on the periphery,
20:51when he came into the series,
20:52in 2021,
20:53he had a seventh,
20:54had a few podiums,
20:5622 and 23,
20:58but maybe not,
20:59quite showing,
20:59the promise,
21:00that was,
21:01put behind him,
21:02when he first came,
21:03into MX2,
21:03but he certainly,
21:04delivered last year,
21:06took seven moto wins,
21:07en route to the title,
21:08and he's already won,
21:10two Grand Prix's,
21:10this season,
21:12as he looks to,
21:13retain that red plate,
21:13but I'm sure,
21:14that Liam Evitz,
21:15the rider just in front of him,
21:16will be determined,
21:18to fend him off,
21:19as the race goes on,
21:19and Evitz,
21:20trying to catch up,
21:21on Andrea Adamo,
21:22in second position,
21:23the 23,
21:24MX2 world champion,
21:26now leading,
21:30by four and a half seconds,
21:36great to see,
21:37of course,
21:38South African,
21:38at the top,
21:39of world champion,
21:41motocross,
21:41we remember,
21:42some of the greats,
21:43over the years,
21:45Robbie Herring,
21:45of course,
21:46who grew up in South Africa,
21:48raced under the banner,
21:49of Team Great Britain,
21:50throughout most of his career,
21:52and Greg Albertine,
21:53former world motocross champion,
21:55in the 90s,
21:55and one of the few riders,
21:57who caused,
21:58Liam Evitz's father,
21:59some problems,
21:59in the early 90s,
22:02when he was riding,
22:03for the Andergrooch,
22:04Honda,
22:05and later leader,
22:05Johnson Suzuki team,
22:08but Greg Albertine,
22:09spent most of his career,
22:10in America,
22:10at the moment,
22:11Cam McClellan,
22:12flying the flag,
22:13for South Africa,
22:13here,
22:14on the triumph,
22:15and leading,
22:16by 4.5 seconds,
22:17Adamo,
22:18just starting,
22:18to break away,
22:19now from Evitz,
22:20at the moment,
22:24Evitz doing well,
22:25to hold on,
22:25to that third place,
22:26DeWolf has certainly,
22:27managed to catch up,
22:28with Evitz here,
22:28but can't really,
22:29find any inroads,
22:30again you can see,
22:31the line choice,
22:31is getting very important,
22:32here,
22:33the track really,
22:34started to cut up,
22:35quite well,
22:35as DeWolf takes,
22:36the inside line,
22:37goes for the roller,
22:38and he's looking,
22:39for the sweeping,
22:40outside lines there,
22:41Evitz on the inside,
22:42looking for the shorter lines,
22:45and you can see,
22:46that nice little drive,
22:48through that rhythm section,
22:49over the ski jumper,
22:51and just takes him,
22:52wide through the outside line,
22:53didn't work for him earlier,
22:54but it looks like,
22:55it's starting to cut up,
22:56quite nicely now,
22:58it's a lighter still in fifth,
22:59Kasvok, David Brasovas,
23:00Elzinga,
23:00Kernan,
23:01Benestart,
23:01and Langenfelder,
23:02now into 10th position,
23:058 minutes to go,
23:06plus the 2 laps remaining,
23:08in MX2,
23:08Moto number 1,
23:09and can McClellan,
23:12really start to hit,
23:13some good form,
23:15to the 2nd,
23:16and the 3rd,
23:17last week in Sardinia,
23:18and can he go,
23:191 better in this first round,
23:20of Trentino,
23:21there he is already,
23:22well clear of Adamo,
23:22as always,
23:23starting to hot up now,
23:24for 3rd place,
23:25between the 2,
23:26Nistar Husqvarna riders,
23:27Evertz holding on,
23:28to that 3rd place,
23:28but DeWolf,
23:29just starting,
23:30to string some lines,
23:31together here,
23:32trying to go,
23:33for the pass,
23:33we saw the pit board there,
23:34for Evertz,
23:34focus on the rider ahead,
23:36but look at DeWolf,
23:37coming out of the corner there,
23:38can he hold it,
23:39over the jump,
23:40will need the rider,
23:41opting for the big triple,
23:42but DeWolf's got the line,
23:43Evertz tries to switch,
23:46back on the inside,
23:46but DeWolf should have,
23:47the momentum,
23:48as they leap down the hill,
23:49and he will hold on,
23:50to that 3rd place,
23:51Evertz trying to fight,
23:52back here,
23:52DeWolf will be delighted,
23:54of course,
23:54to get into 3rd place,
23:55get ahead of his team mates,
23:56even at this early,
24:01quarter of the season,
24:01the title points,
24:02very important today,
24:03you see DeWolf,
24:04going for the inside line,
24:05really making,
24:05that line work,
24:06Evertz trying,
24:07to move across,
24:08and block the exit,
24:09of the corner,
24:10but DeWolf's staying strong,
24:12on the inside,
24:15and the Chief will move,
24:16to the outside,
24:16down there,
24:17to cut across Evertz,
24:18and just prevent him,
24:18from making the switch,
24:19back down the hill,
24:21so a well worked move,
24:22there I would say,
24:23for Kei DeWolf,
24:24to move into 3rd position,
24:26as we go a little bit,
24:27further back,
24:27and we look,
24:28at Sasha Kernan,
24:30making his way,
24:31down the hill,
24:33catching up,
24:33with him on Beniston,
24:35and it looks like,
24:36Beniston actually,
24:37has gone back through,
24:38into 9th place here,
24:39the Monster Energy,
24:40factory Yamaha rider,
24:42Red Bull factory KTM,
24:44of Kernan,
24:45dropping down,
24:46to 10th position,
24:48Langenfelder,
24:49still there,
24:50in 11th place,
24:50not the,
24:51not the first motor,
24:52he would have wanted,
24:53really,
24:53he's still 3rd,
24:54in the championship,
24:54only a few points,
24:55behind Kei DeWolf,
24:57and he can,
24:58ill afford,
24:59to drop points,
24:59at this stage,
25:01we're on this,
25:02difficult Trentino circuit,
25:04it's,
25:05getting quite difficult,
25:06to make inroads,
25:06into the top 10,
25:07Sankhi,
25:12still a few seconds,
25:13behind in,
25:1412th position,
25:15Prignan,
25:15Mikula,
25:16and Jens Malvort,
25:17taking us further,
25:18down into the,
25:19edge,
25:20of the top 20,
25:21at this stage,
25:22the leaders,
25:22make their way,
25:22past the pit area,
25:23there's Cam McClellan,
25:24flying over,
25:25the Monster Energy,
25:26triple jump,
25:26no need to go,
25:27for the big leap,
25:28he's scrubbing,
25:28all the jumps there,
25:29just keeping that momentum,
25:30keeping the bike,
25:31as low down as possible,
25:32putting in some nice,
25:36neat laps here,
25:37looking to try,
25:40and get a,
25:41gate to flag victory,
25:42and he's running,
25:42some very consistent lap times,
25:44lapping in the 150s still,
25:45and maintaining that,
25:464.1 second gap,
25:48from Andrea Adama,
25:48who is still charging,
25:49in second position,
25:51the number 80,
25:52third of the,
25:53Red Bull factory,
25:54KTM riders,
25:55in the moto,
25:57and currently,
25:57the best of the three,
25:58so far,
25:59on his home soil,
26:00Lata's settling down,
26:03into fifth position now,
26:03but still well ahead,
26:05of Karlsvalk,
26:06in sixth position,
26:10Langenfelder,
26:10keeps the pressure,
26:11on Sasha Koerner,
26:11as they make their way,
26:12down the hill,
26:14two Koerner brothers,
26:15of course,
26:16one in MX2,
26:17this year,
26:17the other in MXGP,
26:21a very spectacular,
26:22rider at times,
26:24and,
26:24just learning his trade,
26:26for another season,
26:27Langenfelder,
26:28of course,
26:30really putting the pressure,
26:31on him at this stage,
26:31you can see Langenfelder,
26:32looking for lines,
26:33on the Bavarian,
26:33going down the inside,
26:37oh,
26:38there's a mistake there,
26:39from Beniston,
26:41and,
26:41regained the position,
26:43correctly,
26:43so he didn't gain,
26:44any advantage out,
26:45don't think,
26:45that he'll be penalized,
26:46for that,
26:46but he just seems,
26:47to have lost a bit of a rhythm,
26:48here,
26:48the young Frenchman,
26:48from Avignon,
26:50Beniston,
26:51who's had an injury,
26:52ravaged a couple of seasons,
26:53just starting to,
26:54get his MX2 career,
26:57back together here,
26:58just on the inside,
26:58of the top ten,
26:59as Cullen has a look,
27:00down the inside,
27:01Brasler is just starting,
27:02to hold these three riders up,
27:03I think,
27:04as he loses,
27:05a little bit of ground,
27:06on Elzinga in front,
27:08and on the outside,
27:09so Rick Elzinga,
27:16just trying to break away,
27:17in seventh position,
27:19and the battle,
27:21really starting to hot up,
27:21here on the edge,
27:22of the top ten,
27:22so Brasler is there,
27:23number 22,
27:25on the JM Honda,
27:26factory machine,
27:28factory supporting machine,
27:29I should say,
27:32just starting,
27:33to come under,
27:34a little bit of pressure,
27:35from Beniston,
27:36behind him,
27:37Beniston,
27:37looking for the inside,
27:38lines there,
27:39but Beniston,
27:40of course,
27:40he knows,
27:41he can't afford,
27:41to relax here,
27:42because he has got,
27:42the Red Bull,
27:43factory KTM duo,
27:44of Koerner,
27:45and Langenfelder,
27:46behind him here,
27:48Langenfelder,
27:48of course,
27:48will be desperate,
27:49to try and get past,
27:50these riders,
27:50and claw back,
27:51some more points,
27:53as he looks down,
27:53the inside,
27:54trying to repeat there,
27:55of what Kader Wolf,
27:56did a couple of laps ago,
27:57but Koerner,
27:58had the line out,
27:59of the corner,
27:59got him covered,
28:00and Langenfelder,
28:01again trying,
28:02that inside line,
28:04but you see Koerner,
28:05with the fastest,
28:06sweep on the outside,
28:08should hold on,
28:08to that position,
28:09still four seconds,
28:10the gaps in,
28:10Cam McClellan,
28:11and Andrea Radamo,
28:12in second position,
28:14as we watch,
28:15the battle for eighth position,
28:16Langenfelder down the inside,
28:18can he go for the block pass,
28:19he can't quite get across,
28:20to block off,
28:21the number 19,
28:23so that means,
28:23that Koerner,
28:24will fight back,
28:25on the inside,
28:26but a bit of a rhythm,
28:27there from,
28:28Langenfelder,
28:29and he has made,
28:30the move stick eventually,
28:32the outside sweep,
28:32giving him the momentum,
28:33up the hill,
28:34as he starts to close up,
28:36on the number nine,
28:36now,
28:37Thibaut Benestong,
28:37so still the battle,
28:40between the,
28:41Monster Energy,
28:42Factory Yamaha,
28:43and the Red Bull,
28:44Cap Factory KTM,
28:45oh,
28:46down the inside,
28:46lovely move there,
28:47from Langenfelder,
28:49down the inside,
28:49on the rollers,
28:50and he moves up,
28:51another position now,
28:52so he'll go up,
28:52to ninth place here,
28:53trying to close up,
28:54on Elzinga,
28:54and Brasserad's,
28:56in eighth position,
28:59Simon Langenfelder,
28:59desperately trying,
29:00to claw back those points,
29:02as Liam Evert,
29:03goes down the inside,
29:05of one of the lappers there,
29:08might even be,
29:10Philipp Olsen,
29:1119th position,
29:13Swedish rider,
29:14on the KTM,
29:18there's Evert,
29:19still in fourth place,
29:20losing a little bit of ground,
29:21on Kaide Wolff now,
29:22who is well clear,
29:23in third place,
29:24so good result,
29:25so far for DeWolf,
29:27Evert's last year's,
29:28winner here at Trentino,
29:29still handily placed,
29:30in fourth position,
29:33and back to,
29:34Benestant there,
29:35who,
29:36squares the turn off,
29:37looking for those lines,
29:38he's still got,
29:39Koenig behind him,
29:41as always gone down,
29:42oh,
29:43he's gone right,
29:43on the corner,
29:44lost the front end,
29:45and down goes,
29:46Thibault Benestant,
29:47difficult moto,
29:48for him so far,
29:48he had a strong showing,
29:49yesterday,
29:50in the qualifying race,
29:52and that bike,
29:52will not fire up,
29:53he punches the handlebars,
29:54in frustration,
29:55finally gets the Yamaha,
29:57fired up,
29:58and away he goes,
29:59I think that may have been,
30:00Mikula that went past,
30:01on the TM,
30:02so we'll have a look,
30:03and see,
30:03just how far,
30:04he's dropped down the field,
30:05but it's just starting to fall away now,
30:09from Benestant,
30:10we'll have a look at that again,
30:10there,
30:11we see lovely action there,
30:12squaring the turn off,
30:13going for the pass,
30:14but oh,
30:16he tried to go,
30:17for the outside,
30:17Brasseros had the line covered,
30:19shoved him into the berm,
30:20front end washed out,
30:21and down he goes,
30:23so Benestant,
30:24I believe,
30:24has recovered into 12th position,
30:26and there he is,
30:29looking a little bit detuned,
30:30but quickly starting to get back,
30:33into the rhythm of things here,
30:35he's still sitting there,
30:36in 12th place,
30:36behind Peruki Ozaki,
30:37who's,
30:39another rider's had a potentially,
30:40difficult motor here,
30:41Valerio Larte's team mate,
30:42still there in 5th position,
30:44as the blue flags fly up,
30:45they start to make their way,
30:46through some of the tail enders,
30:47they're actually lapping,
30:49a little bit into the points now,
30:50it looks like Adamo,
30:51has just gone past the 18th position,
30:54the Spaniard Samuel Nielsen,
30:58another one of the triumph riders,
30:59young motion powered by Reza machine,
31:06there's DeWolf,
31:07not quite close enough,
31:10to put the pressure on Adamo,
31:11at this stage,
31:11but still,
31:13threatening in 3rd position,
31:17Cam McClellan now,
31:18approaching 5.2 seconds,
31:20the gap between 1st and 2nd place,
31:22the race just started to settle down,
31:23now in these final few laps,
31:24with 3 laps to go here,
31:26and,
31:28too early to stay at this stage,
31:29he's still got those 3 laps left,
31:31but it would be a brilliant win,
31:33here for Cam McClellan,
31:34if he can bring it home,
31:35he's done all the hard work so far,
31:37he's established a 5.2 second gap,
31:39and now,
31:40as the race draws to a close,
31:42he's just got to keep that pace up,
31:43he can't afford to make any mistakes though,
31:45because that gap would be obliterated,
31:48and we've seen several times,
31:50so easy to put a wheel wrong on the berm,
31:53just lose that grip,
31:55a little bit greasy underneath,
31:57on the hard pack as well,
31:59so it's a treacherous circuit out there,
32:01and McClellan's still got his work cut out here,
32:03with 3 laps to go,
32:04there's Kai de Wolfe,
32:06still keeping that pressure on Adamo,
32:07you can hear the Italians,
32:08getting behind the home star,
32:09and the former MX2 champion,
32:11in 2nd place,
32:12as he starts to pick his way,
32:14through some of the riders,
32:15at the back end of the top 20 here,
32:17so they're lapping quite far up the field here,
32:21that might be,
32:22the involved balls ahead of him,
32:25as we see Benestant,
32:26oh,
32:27a bit of payback there on,
32:28earlier in the race,
32:31on Brasselas,
32:33those two really going bar to bar,
32:35and Brasselas forcing him wide,
32:36that's where he cut the corner,
32:39and Benestant,
32:39just making sure,
32:40fairly got into the right position,
32:42so these two,
32:44really going bar to bar,
32:46throughout this motor,
32:47David Brasselas,
32:48and the unfortunate,
32:50Dibov Benestant,
32:51who came off worse,
32:52and he's still settling,
32:53in that 12th position,
32:54so Brasselas,
32:55I'm sure that Jackie Martins,
32:57will be pleased to see,
32:57some of that bar banging action,
32:59and Brasselas,
33:01making himself strong out there,
33:02as he still sits,
33:03in that 10th position,
33:04staying ahead of the factory Honda,
33:05with Zanke here,
33:06so a little bit of a,
33:08interesting dynamic here,
33:09for two Honda teams,
33:1010th and 11th so far,
33:12Brasselas on the JM Honda,
33:17Zanke on the HRC factory Honda,
33:19and they're just on the,
33:21could be battling,
33:22with two laps to go here,
33:24and that indeed,
33:25looks like Zanke there,
33:26number 73,
33:27you can see him closing up,
33:28on Brasselas here,
33:31so Zanke had a bad start,
33:33just starting to come together,
33:35now towards the end of the moto,
33:37and Brasselas just starting,
33:38to fade at this stage,
33:39but as we've seen several times,
33:41he's not afraid to get the elbows out,
33:43and defend the position,
33:44although he knows,
33:45that Zanke's closing up here,
33:46so battle of the two Hondas,
33:48JM Honda on the outside,
33:51HRC Honda,
33:52on the inside there,
33:53but Brasselas has the line,
33:54as he sweeps around the outside,
33:56you can see Zanke just staying cool here,
33:59two laps to go,
34:00he's got a little bit of time,
34:01on his side here,
34:01to try and weigh up a pass,
34:03sweeps around the outside,
34:09he's going to try,
34:10and get the drive up the hill,
34:11to close up here,
34:12nice drive up the hill,
34:13he's going to sweep,
34:13on the outside of Brasselas here,
34:15who will have the line,
34:16tries to square the turn off,
34:18you can see him looking,
34:18for grip out of the corner,
34:19but Ferruccio Zanke,
34:22young Italian number 73,
34:24just starting to put that pressure,
34:25on the 22,
34:27looking for the outside,
34:28sweeping lines here,
34:29trying to use the momentum,
34:30to get through here,
34:31as a look,
34:32gets a wheel on the inside,
34:33but Brasselas has the line covered,
34:34oh,
34:34but Zanke doesn't give up,
34:36goes to the inside,
34:37and over the jump they go,
34:40over that tabletop,
34:41you can see Zanke still using,
34:42those outside lines,
34:43oh,
34:44but Brasselas,
34:45will not give that position up,
34:47lightly here,
34:48Cam McClellan still leading,
34:49and the gap goes down,
34:50to 3.7 seconds at the front,
34:51we're looking at this battle,
34:52for 10th place,
34:54back to second position,
34:55now there's McClellan,
34:56the race leader,
34:59at the moment looking secure,
35:01is Adamo,
35:02with one lap to go,
35:03coming under some late pressure,
35:04here from Kai DeWolf,
35:06and the Italians,
35:07are really getting behind,
35:08their man in second places,
35:09Andrew DeWolf desperately,
35:10tries to hold on,
35:11to that second place,
35:12DeWolf putting a late charge,
35:14here this should,
35:15clear the way,
35:16I would say for Cam McClellan,
35:17but they also have,
35:20back markers to contend with,
35:22there's Lottie Van Drunen,
35:23she's currently in 26th place,
35:25will go two laps down,
35:27such as the pace,
35:28of the riders,
35:28at the front of this moto,
35:29so the young Dutch rider,
35:34she's still showing,
35:35she has what it takes,
35:37on the outside of the top 20,
35:38battling away,
35:39with David Zampino,
35:41and Rodolfo Bianco,
35:43the Brazilian rider,
35:44but at the front here,
35:45Kai DeWolf,
35:46with a late charge here,
35:47round the outside of Adamo,
35:49he'll have the line,
35:50into the left hander,
35:51and can he make,
35:52the block pass stick,
35:54yes he does,
35:54just about,
35:55as Cam McClellan,
35:57clear away at the front,
35:57but late drama,
35:58here for second place,
35:59as Adamo tries to fight back,
36:01with a slower riders in front here,
36:02this could make things difficult for him,
36:05DeWolf picking his line,
36:08does that excellently,
36:10as he goes through,
36:10but Cam McClellan making his way through,
36:12over the chequered flag,
36:14and Cam McClellan for triumph,
36:16wins the first moto of the day,
36:18DeWolf in second position,
36:19Adamo third,
36:21brilliant ride there,
36:23for DeWolf on the last lap,
36:24but look what it means,
36:25to Cam McClellan,
36:26who had a very quiet race at the front,
36:28got the whole shot,
36:30and was able to control the race,
36:32at the front,
36:32whilst all the action,
36:34really developed behind him,
36:36so DeWolf second place,
36:38Adamo third,
36:39Evertz in fourth place,
36:41brilliant start there,
36:42for Valerio Lata,
36:43he finishes in fifth position,
36:46Langenfelder,
36:47into seventh in the end,
36:48just behind Karlsvold,
36:49Rick Alzinga,
36:50Sasha Koenig,
36:50and David Brassereff,
36:51running at the top ten,
36:54Andrea Adamo,
36:56furious with the back markers there,
36:59that was the 9.41,
37:00of Lucas Albers,
37:01the German,
37:02and we saw them holding a line,
37:04on the last lap,
37:05but Adamo,
37:06didn't look too happy,
37:07at the end there,
37:07I think he feels that,
37:09they're going on his way,
37:11somewhat,
37:11as Ferruccio Zanki,
37:13comes out best,
37:13in that battle,
37:14and breaks into the top ten,
37:15on the final lap,
37:16Rasteras in 11th position,
37:19soon that's green,
37:20last lap battle,
37:22Zanki,
37:22not the motor he would have wanted,
37:23but nonetheless,
37:24fights through to the top ten,
37:25on the final lap,
37:26some late drama,
37:27with Adamo,
37:28and the back markers,
37:29on that final lap,
37:30he's not too happy,
37:31but Cam McClellan,
37:32takes a brilliant first,
37:33Moto victory,
37:34so McClellan from DeWolf,
37:42Andrew D'Armo,
37:43Liam Levinson,
37:43Bellario Elato,
37:44rounding up the top five,
37:45in that brilliant first moto,
37:48Benestar to the end,
37:49recovering to 12th place,
37:50after that trouble,
37:51but Cam McClellan,
37:52taking,
37:55a brilliant,
37:57gate to flag victory,
37:58that's exactly what you want,
37:59especially with,
38:01some difficult weather conditions,
38:02out there,
38:02the track,
38:03not the easiest to ride today,
38:05with the early morning,
38:06moisture in the saw,
38:07but Cam McClellan,
38:08first moto winner,
38:10Cam Dunn McClellan,
38:11massive congratulations for you,
38:12first box hole shot,
38:13first MX2 race win,
38:15that was a big race for you.
38:17No doubt,
38:17that's how it's done,
38:18you know,
38:18getting a hole shot,
38:20it felt amazing,
38:21amazing,
38:22clear track,
38:23and then from there,
38:24first two laps,
38:24was a bit of panic,
38:25but from there,
38:25it was smooth sailing,
38:26I saw the guys behind me,
38:27Andrea was coming,
38:28Kai was coming,
38:29but I kept my focus,
38:30I kept pushing,
38:31and it feels so good,
38:33I want to thank my family,
38:34everyone that's got me,
38:35it's been a long,
38:36long road,
38:37and a lot of ups and downs,
38:38but the bike was working,
38:40awesome,
38:40I can't thank the whole
38:41Monster Energy Triumph,
38:42racing factory team enough,
38:43it's been a ride.
38:45Good luck for the second race.
