02:10Bukh Triumphs in the top ten, Ares in ninth, and McLaren...
02:16McLaren dropping down to ninth place as Faraz moves to eighth position.
02:20And a great start there for the Swiss privateer, Mike Werder.
02:24The home crowd certainly getting behind the local lad as he gets away in tenth position,
02:28just ahead of Rizal Iselsinger, the two factory Yamahas, David Brasaros, Kazvolk,
02:33Sascha Kernan down in fifteenth, he's got some work to do, as has Ferruccio Zanke down in sixteenth position.
02:40But at the front, Simon Lengenfelder, as they make their way towards the end of the first lap,
02:44trying to break away from Adamo in the early stages.
02:48Track really starting to dry out in the second motor, as Kaido has a peak down the inside of...
02:55Lelio Latu slams the door on him, and that could allow Oriol Olivier on the Gabriel SS24 KTM to try and find a way through.
03:05Team run by the former Red Bull factory rider and, of course, Grand Prix winner Sean Simpson.
03:15Many times a British motocross champion as well, and now turning his attention to the other side of the fence,
03:20as a team owner and team manager.
03:24Just on seventh, still there, as they get together at the front...
03:28Oh, and DeWolf again having a look at Valerio Latu, but the young Italian straight out of the EMX 250 ranks for 2025.
03:36And certainly in these early rounds of the championship starting to make a name for himself.
03:42Certainly making life a bit difficult for Kaido Wolf here, who will be determined not to let Lengenfelder get too far down the track.
03:50So this is your virtual podium at the moment to be Lengenfelder from Evertz, Adamo tying on points with Kaido Wolf.
03:58But if things stay as they are, Adamo would get on the podium by virtue of the better second moto finish.
04:04If there is a tie on points, traditionally it is the second moto that is the points decider.
04:10The theory being, of course, the riders more tired after completing one moto, the track more difficult as it deteriorates throughout the day.
04:19But a very long way to go, of course. We've got over 25 minutes plus the two laps to go, and a lot can happen.
04:25Oh, DeWolf cheekily sweeps around the outside of Lata. I don't think he was expecting that.
04:30But Kaido Wolf, the champion's experience, pays off there as he moves up to fourth place.
04:35He will have his eyes firmly fixed on the number 27 at the front of the field, Simon Lengenfelder.
04:43German, who has come very close in recent seasons. Of course, he was hindered by a broken collarbone last season, which hampered his progress.
04:51But Lengenfelder, who has always been a very consistent rider in terms of his MX2 career,
04:58now just trying to, just trying to stake his claim here in terms of the MX2 world title championship campaign.
05:08He'll bring the points down to ten if things stay as they are as we go back to the first lap.
05:12We saw Adamo starting to put Lengenfelder under some pressure, a bit of barbanging in the top ten.
05:17He's going to sweep through the right-hander, popular overtaking opportunity going through the roller sections,
05:25and they leap into the bagged left-hand corner.
05:29Kaido Wolf, look at this brilliant move here. He saw half an opportunity to sweep around the outside of Valerio Lata.
05:37He went on the inside, no one on the inside corner there, which is a lot shorter, of course, but a slower line.
05:43And the Wolf going for the sweeping outside line there.
05:47He goes on to the position quite comfortably.
05:53Lengenfelder, much like Moto1, making the early runnings here and increases the gap to 2.3 seconds at the front.
06:00Ebbett still charging in third.
06:04Wolf, we're watching the reigning MX2 world champion Kaido Wolf.
06:10Aiming to become a select few riders from the MX2 era to retain the championship.
06:15Those other riders being Marvin Muska in 0.9 and 0.10.
06:19Most recent being Moorgate Prado in 2018-2019.
06:25Geoffrey Hurlings winning two of his three MX2 world titles in succession in 2012 and 2013.
06:35So he would be an exalted company if he could land the 2025 MX2 world title.
06:41We look further back here.
06:42Guillaume Fares having a look down the inside of Benestad.
06:44He shuts the door on the young Spaniard.
06:47Really is great to see Fares back in action.
06:49He took a scary crash earlier in the season and has been absent for a couple of rounds now,
06:54but seems to be settling in quite nicely and is ahead at the moment of what you might say is the de facto team leader in climb.
07:01Cam McClellan is only in ninth place.
07:04I say only by his high standards, of course, because we have been very used to seeing McClellan battling at the front.
07:11But once again we see up this Rahnfeld circuit very difficult to make your way through the leading riders if you don't quite get the start.
07:19He's by no means had a terrible start, McClellan, but he is stuck a bit further down the field there in ninth place and struggling to get past Olivier and his teammate Fares at the moment.
07:28So he's going to have to work hard to try and snatch some more points back in moto number two.
07:37There is McClellan trying to look down the inside of the Gabriel SS 24 KTM 51.
07:43Oliver sweeping around the outside, McClellan goes to the inside there being chased by the young Latvian.
07:49Carlos Rizalas in 10th position.
07:52Rick Alzinga, the Dutchman, just behind both of those factory Monster Energy Yamaha riders,
07:56not quite having the season that they would have wanted so far in this first quarter of the season.
08:01Maybe they would have wanted to have been a little bit closer to the front running riders in the World Championship.
08:10And McClellan keeping that pressure on though as we go through the first third of the race.
08:14Langenfelder trying to break away in these early stages. The gap was 2.4 seconds.
08:20Has gone down slightly to just over two as Kaido Wolf starts to put his teammate under pressure here.
08:25Liam Evertz guarding the inside line. DeWolf sweeping to the outside, trying to get the momentum out of the hairpin.
08:32Over the Monster Energy ski jump they go.
08:35And Evertz for the time being holding on to that third place. DeWolf keeping that pressure on though in fourth place.
08:41Damo now brings the gap down to 1.8 seconds as the two Nistar and Husqvarnas go flying through the roller section.
08:47Evertz knows that DeWolf's there, guarding the inside line.
08:50He's seen riders taking a lunge down the inside through the rollers and Evertz is wise to that.
08:57As he holds on to the place. DeWolf just shadowing his Belgian teammate at the moment.
09:06Liam Evertz coming back of course from a neck injury at the tail end of 2024.
09:11Great to see him coming back so strongly in 2025 showing no ill effects of the injury that sidelined him at the tail end of 2024.
09:20Making the switch to the sister brand of KTM nowadays, of course Husqvarna.
09:26Former Swedish brand of course. It's been through various iterations over the years.
09:30It was sold to the Kajiba group in the 1980s. Went through a period of BMW ownership.
09:36Now under the KTM banner in more recent years.
09:42What's not a...
09:45What's not exactly identical to the KTM, certainly shares a lot of the DNA with the Austrian machine.
09:50Certainly a very competitive proposition in MX2 as we can see from Liam Evertz.
09:57Certainly having a much better time on Husqvarna than his father ever did.
10:02Stefan Evertz suffered a knee injury on his...
10:06What was then of course the old 500cc open class.
10:09Signed with the Husqvarna mark but suffered a knee injury.
10:13One of the pre-season internationals that pretty much put him out of the 2000 season in its entirety before making a recovery in the latter stages of his career on board a Yamaha.
10:28Certainly Liam Evertz has had a bright start to the season and is still handily placed in terms of the title race.
10:35Fourth in the series right now behind Adamo and Langenfelder.
10:38Crucially here needs to stay ahead of his teammate DeWolf.
10:44Harrily missed out in moto number one in that thrilling battle between Evertz, DeWolf and Kahn-McClellan.
10:49They had a brilliant fight to second place right the way to the line.
10:51It was DeWolf who came off best of course.
10:54And DeWolf will be determined to try and get back into that second place because...
10:59Adamo still keeping the pressure on his teammate but Langenfelder pulling away all the time.
11:04And this is exactly the scenario that the German would want at this stage.
11:10Langenfelder with 20 minutes to go.
11:12His main title rival still there in fourth place.
11:15Langenfelder hoping to become the first German to win a world motocross title since Ken Rockson back in 2011.
11:23Nowadays known as Kickstart Kenny of course still on the Suzuki.
11:30Making his way back to the famous Japanese brand after many years on KTM and Honda throughout the years as well.
11:37So Ken Rockson of course starting out in MX2 on the Suzuki and then you have to go right the way back in the...
11:43The motocross history books to find a former German world champion that goes right the way back to the East German Paul Fredericks.
11:50On the East German CZ back in the 1960s as recently as 1967 and 68.
11:58And a triple of world titles in the mid 60s.
12:01In the golden era against the likes of Roll Tivlin, Jeff Smith and so forth.
12:06That's how far you have to go back into the history books after Ken Rockson.
12:11So Langenfelder would certainly be in exalted company if he could wrap up the 2025 MX2 world title race.
12:20They're only a quarter away in the season completed at the moment so still a long way to go.
12:24He's got some work to do here because Adamo still on his tail.
12:29The gap going up to 3.8 seconds now.
12:31So it's that kind of situation where Langenfelder has got a cushion.
12:35But he can't afford any kind of a mistake.
12:39Still Cam McLeod.
12:42Pushing Oriel over here number 51.
12:45Gabriel SS 24 KTM against the factory triumph.
12:48So it's a British-backed KTM against the British manufacturer of triumph.
12:55And of course Mikkel Haram placed in the top five last year as essentially triumph's lead rider.
13:01He's in the situation in 2024 where he aged out of the MX2 category, the 23-year-old age rule.
13:08So for 25, he's taken essentially a back step.
13:12He's staying on the triumph factory team but working pretty much as a development rider for the triumph 450 which is scheduled to make its Grand Prix debut next year.
13:23So a great move from Haram to take a step away from Grand Prix motocross competition and sticking with the triumph mark as he will debut that machine of course next year.
13:33The triumph 450 running very well in the club and competitions at this stage.
13:39In the UK certainly the Bridgestone Masters.
13:42Motocross championship Josh Spinks running very well in that series on the new triumph 450.
13:47Joel Rizzi campaigning it in the British motocross championship.
13:51So we look forward to seeing the big 450 triumph in Grand Prix competition next year with Mikkel Haram.
13:56But in the main time Cam McClellan keeping that pressure on the Spaniard Oliver number 51.
14:04But the moment is the KTM sandwich here with the triumphs both in front and behind him.
14:10Fares, 99, having a really good comeback weekend here in Switzerland.
14:16After his troubles earlier in the season, there is Langenfelder.
14:20Having a brilliant weekend so far. The gap has gone up now to 4.1 seconds.
14:24Let's have a look at how he got to the start.
14:26Watch the Husqvarna's on the inside line going bar to bar.
14:30Everett's getting ahead of DeWolf but the KTM's sweeping round the outside.
14:37Langenfelder charging away just ahead of Adamo.
14:40Let's have a look at Kuhn and they just seem to lose out in that battle for the first corner just by half a wheel length, he would say.
14:46And the unfortunate Kuhn pushed out wide. He almost came to a stop there. Hence why he had such a bad start.
14:54And we'll look to see where he is in the standings at the moment. He didn't really get away too well.
14:59And the trouble is on such a tight technical circuit such as Braunfels.
15:04Very difficult to start passing once you get amongst the tough knocks at the front of the field.
15:09And I wonder if Kuhn is in trouble because he has gone down to 19th position.
15:17Langenfelder started to catch up with the tail enders here. He goes past the 32nd place Oscar Briggs.
15:24As we approach the halfway stage.
15:27One or two of the MX2 frontrunners have been complaining about the back markers in recent rounds.
15:32Blue flags are shown by the marshals, of course, but they're one or two hints that perhaps they haven't been as cooperative the slower riders as they could have been.
15:41And there was a hair raising moment in moto number one where Kaida Wolf tapped the back wheel of the unfortunate Julius Micheler on the TM.
15:48Both riders stayed upright. I think it was an honest mistake. Micheler putting his hand up to apologize to the Wolf on the track.
15:56But that's part of the jeopardy, especially on this slightly shorter track. It's 1500 meters here at Braunfels.
16:01It's a relatively short circuit by Grand Prix standards.
16:05So he would expect the leaders to start closing up on the back markers very soon indeed.
16:09And as we just saw, Langenfelder is already starting to close up on some of the riders further back as we look at Valerio Lata.
16:19Fighting with Kimo Benestand.
16:21So it's the HRC factory Honda against the Monster Energy factory Yamaha here.
16:29Both his riders fairly young, of course, but this, you would say, is a case of youth versus experience.
16:34Benestand with a bit more Grand Prix experience behind him.
16:36But Valerio Lata, who has accustomed himself very well in MX2 in 2025.
16:43Had a spill in the first moto on the bank left hander and recovered well into 10th position.
16:48He's fifth at the moment. So if he can round this up, staying in the top five in moto two, I'm sure he would be very pleased with that one.
16:55And would certainly back up some of the hype that's starting to surround this young Italian at the moment.
17:01He was second last year in EMX, riding on the gas gas machine.
17:06Now fast-tracked into the HRC factory Honda squad alongside another youngster, of course, Ruccio Zanke, who is a rider that HRC took out of EMX very early indeed.
17:18But Lata certainly starting to give his young Italian teammates something to think about here with some very strong results as we head towards the end of the first quarter of the season.
17:29Cam McClellan frustrated here that we can't find a way past Oriel Olivier in eighth position. Down the inside he goes, trying to have another look.
17:38He's got the line and he's got to be strong here. Yes, he gets the front wheel in there.
17:42Oh, but he's going to struggle to make the corner. Squeezes past Oscar Briggs and that could allow Olivier back into it here.
17:48Oh, and DeWolf's gone down. That's by the pit area on the chicane. Very slick on the inside line there as the hard pack starts to show itself as the race goes on.
17:59So I can only speculate that DeWolf has lost the front wheel there. We'll perhaps try and get a look at that. Here's DeWolf.
18:06Oh dear. He just seemed to get his, just seemed to get his cornering all wrong there. Stumbled over the rut.
18:17And for a rider of kind of wolf's caliber, that was a very elementary mistake there.
18:22Lost for words, really even a champion can make such a basic mistake.
18:27It's the sort of thing you might see as a junior club and motocross events.
18:32Just stumbling over the berm like that and losing the front wheel, but it can happen even to a champion.
18:37And that shakes up the results a little bit there. Would put Adamo clear on the podium.
18:43And although it won't concern Langenfelder at the moment, that is very good news for him in terms of the title race.
18:50So let's see what DeWolf can do if he recovers very quickly from that mistake.
18:53He's lost positions to Lata and Venestan, so he drops to sixth position and he's straight on the case here.
18:59And this front felt circuit, when you look at the track, it looks fairly basic and fairly simple track.
19:07But we've seen several times this weekend, it has caught out many of the world's top riders.
19:14So he would certainly suggest it's a venue that demands respect.
19:18You can see that rocky surface starting to come to fruition as well.
19:24Plenty of rocks in some of the corners, which might affect the traction.
19:27You can see it on the landing of the table top there on the racing line.
19:30So some of those rocky hard pack sections, they can get a little bit slippery.
19:36Wolf making no mistakes through the chicane this time.
19:39He's being urged on, he's being told there needs to get past Valerio Lata to get onto the podium.
19:45He needs to get past number 18. Look at that mistake again.
19:50He just seemed to lose it on the corner there, just...
19:53Should have railed that berm, really.
19:55Just a brief lapse in concentration.
19:58Nowadays, of course, they've got the electric start, so he just gets straight on to the...
20:02The power button on the handlebars nowadays, no need to kickstart the machine.
20:06Straight back underway.
20:10Good news for the other title contenders, of course.
20:12So Langenfelder, Adamo, and Evertz, three of the top four in the MX2 title race,
20:17filling out the top three positions, and they're all playing catch-up at this stage.
20:21Grand Veld circuit, this is the third venue in the Grand Veld area that has held Grand Prix Motocross Racing.
20:32It's original iteration in 1981 when Eric Gabors took the 125cc Grand Prix victory.
20:40First rider to win Motocross World Championships in the 125, 250, and 500cc classes.
20:47He took a memorable triple, of course, the 500cc ranks in 1988 at Namur.
20:55And the British Hope, they thought, was sidelined with a hand injury that day.
20:59Hit one on the trackside post, but he recovered, of course, next in 1989 to win the 500s back from Gabors.
21:05We're going back to Adamo here.
21:08And again, you see those ruts are getting a bit tricky out there.
21:12This Reinfeld circuit certainly testing these top riders.
21:20Fast circuit.
21:24And deceptively quite tricky. Some low ruts really starting to catch the riders out.
21:28You can see Adamo looking for some lines on the outside line there as Lata and Benestar going bar to bar here as they make their way over the Monster Energy finish line jump.
21:37And there's DeWolf just shadowing, still there in sixth place.
21:41He desperately needs that fourth place to catch up with his title rivals and try to get on the podium.
21:52Here we see that again, so Lata on the inside line. Benestar sweeping to the outside.
21:56Look at Lata there trying to square the turnoff as they go past the foxhole shot point after the first corner.
22:03As the back marker very quickly gets out to DeWolf's way.
22:06And Kai DeWolf has got past Valerio Lata here, so DeWolf now into fifth place.
22:12And knows he needs a minimum of that fourth place, really.
22:16He's got to try and close up with his title rivals, but look at the timing charts.
22:20They are already well down the road here. Lengenfeld are leading by nearly five seconds from Adamo.
22:25Everts in third, 7.8 seconds behind.
22:28But then there's a huge jump of well over ten seconds.
22:33As we look at Kai DeWolf squeezing past there, the back marker very quickly getting out of the way of the front runners.
22:40I think that was Matthias Erschling, one of the Swiss privateers.
22:45He's got a lot of wild cards from Switzerland riding this weekend, especially in MX2.
22:52There's Lengenfelder, race lead of the gap, 5.8 seconds.
22:56So he's got a comfortable advantage over his Red Bull KTM teammate.
23:01As he makes his way through the rollers, heading towards the Liqui Moly jump.
23:04Goes past the number 82 of Samuel Erschling, another one of the Swiss privateers.
23:10Who's sitting just on the edge of the points at the moment.
23:12He's currently in 21st place. He's got the Danish rider Magnus Smith in front of him.
23:17So Lengenfelder already starting to lap up to the point scorers at this stage.
23:21With just under eight minutes, plus the two laps remaining.
23:24And Lengenfelder nicely into a rhythm here.
23:29Seems to have acquitted himself very well on the KTM.
23:32I was on the factory Gas Gas last year, but switching to the sister mark of KTM in 2025.
23:45So KTM absorbing that class.
23:48Davide Di Kali, two pox hole shots.
23:51Potentially Simon Lengenfelder is looking at his second race win this weekend for the overall.
23:56And maybe, dare I say it, take the red plate home.
23:59It's looking good so far.
24:00We don't want to speak too early, but so far, also yesterday, he was riding really good and fast.
24:07And first model of the day, he got a win.
24:10He got a big goal shot and second model the same.
24:13So, so far, all good.
24:15This is what we need. This is what he need to believe for the title.
24:19He was strong here last year. He podiumed.
24:20And now again, obviously, this weekend. What is it about this tracking for Anfield? Do you think just suits him on so well?
24:26Yeah, he's, he's riding really good. He's, even, even in the rods, he have a really good flow. And since Saturday, he was looking really good on the bike. And so far, all good. And I'm really happy.
24:39Best of luck to the team. Thank you.
24:41Davide DiCali looking very pleased with Simon Langenfelder at the moment. It could be tight here, potentially, depending on how DeWolf gets on.
24:53As they were discussing there in the pit area, he could potentially take the red plate away from DeWolf as he leaves Switzerland.
25:01Still a long way to go here. Six minutes plus the two laps remaining. As we know in motocross, anything can happen. The track getting tougher and tougher as the laps go on. So Langenfelder really has got to keep his head down here. Keep that rhythm.
25:16He goes flying through the rollers. He's done all the hard work at the start of the moto. Getting the all important start and controlling the race at the front. He had some early pressure from Adamo.
25:24But Langenfelder settling into a rhythm quite nicely here as the race goes on towards its final stages. Five and a half minutes plus the two laps remaining.
25:38Heide Wolf still hard at work as he goes flying through the rollers, trying to catch up with the two in front of him. Beniston.
25:46Everts quite far down the road, but Beniston certainly within striking distance here.
25:50Wolf makes his way up the step of jumps. Troubling to clear the jump there as you see the line start to deteriorate as the moto goes on. But he's still charging.
26:01The top three settling down quite nicely at the moment. Langenfelder leading.
26:06Adamo second. That would put him on the podium at this stage. The Wolf needs to get past Beniston here to get onto the podium.
26:12There's Everts running strongly in third place. A much better result for the young Belgian this weekend.
26:23Last weekend at Trentino DNF the second moto after a first lap collision with his teammate Kaida Wolf on the second corner.
26:29Certainly nothing malicious about it. Just tapped the back wheel of the Wolf and went down and the resulting impact broke the front of the cable on that machine.
26:38So just really bad luck for the young Belgian.
26:42Certainly a wise head on young shoulders. He's got his head down. He just said that's racing and just look forward to the next one.
26:48And he's recovering quite well here. He's ahead of the Wolf. So he will claw some points back if things stay as they are.
26:55And he's still very much a factor in the title race here. You would say the moment in these early stages certainly seems to be turning into a title race between Kaida Wolf,
27:02Simon Langenfelder, Andrea Adamo and that guy there at the number 26 of Liam Everts. But Everts just starting to apply the pressure onto Adamo in the closing stages.
27:15You remember how fiercely he finished moto number one in that battle for second place with his teammate the Wolf and Cam McClellan.
27:23McClellan incidentally moving up to seventh position now on the triumph.
27:26Adamo just starting to come under some pressure now. He had a decent gap between himself and Everton third earlier on in the moto.
27:38But Everton strung together some really good laps actually. He's just been chipping away at Adamo's time.
27:45Closing the gap. Langenfelder setting a really good pace.
27:50That's the slap of the race.
27:52About halfway through the moto he's set at 138.279 running very close to his best time in moto number one of 138.2.
28:03And perhaps on a hard packed circuit it's a little bit easier to try and get close to the first lap, fastest lap,
28:09because it's not really cutting up as much as a sand circuit would. But nonetheless I would say that's quite some achievement by Langenfelder.
28:15To match that pace in moto number two when the track is getting a little bit rough. He can see the braking bumps into the corners.
28:22But it really would indicate that Langenfelder has been on top form today as Adamo knows that Everton is there guarding the inside line.
28:31Everton's now having to look for lines in these closing stages but trying to find a way through. He's got a bit of time on his side here.
28:36Liam Everton's with two and a half minutes to go plus the two laps remaining.
28:45Adamo just seems to have pulled maybe a few bike lengths away as they make their way through the rollers and Everton will have to regroup here.
28:52Adamo's still running defensive though. He doesn't dare leave the inside line open for Everton coming off the rollers.
28:57As they make their way up towards the step-up jump. And that tricky little off-cambered left-hand corner on the banking there.
29:06Expectations getting a great view of the riders. They leap down into the flat section of the circuit towards the end of the lap here.
29:15It's a bit more tricky and technical as they make their way.
29:17You can see those rocks starting to develop on the racing line. Reminds me very much of some of the other famous Swiss venues.
29:24The likes of Payern, one of the historic, the old 500cc motocross Grand Prix circuits, which is renowned.
29:32It's more of a hillside track, of course, but it's got a really gnarly track surface.
29:37Quite a few rocks starting to develop there at times as well.
29:40And Payern is still, I believe, in use as a clubman motocross venue, the historic Swiss Grand Prix track.
29:48The British fans, the venue of Roggenburg, just over the close to the French border, not far from Basel, was the venue where Kurt Nickel narrowly lost out in 1992 to George Jobay in the 500cc world title.
30:05Nickel won all three motos that day. He was back in the days and had a three moto format.
30:11But I'm sure we have the points to follow him home in second and snatch the 92 world title.
30:16But there was redemption for Nickel and for Team Great Britain in 94 at the same track when they broke the winning streak of Team America in the motocross of nations.
30:24Nickel alongside Paul Malin and Robbie Herring that day.
30:28So Switzerland certainly with a storied history in world motocross racing across the decades.
30:38This brownfield circuit is certainly not the hillside sweeping fast circuits like Roggenburg and Wallen and Payern.
30:45But certainly a track that's unique in its own way. It's tricky and technical.
30:50And it's certainly one that demands respect here. We've seen several occasions both in MX2 and in MXGP riders making rather elementary mistakes.
31:00As you can see in the closing stages this classic hard pack sort of blue groove that's starting to emerge on some of the drier corners.
31:08The organisers putting a bit of water down prior to the first MX2 Moto earlier on.
31:14And you can see some nice tacky grippy dirt on the outside of some of the more sheltered corners.
31:20Langenfeld goes over the line once again. He has certainly mastered this Swiss Grand Prix circuit here at Frankfurt today.
31:28This is in the German speaking part of Switzerland. Not too far from the borders of his native Bavaria.
31:37And there are quite a few of the German fans who've made their way down south to Switzerland.
31:44They'll be delighted to see this today. And they'll be equally delighted here to see that their main title rival, Kaida Wolf,
31:52is having a hard time going to Bastibor Benestan. The Frenchman, 11th in moto number one, didn't quite have the moto he would have wanted.
31:59It's been a difficult season for the Monster Energy Factory Yamaha team, but they have shown glimpses of promise here.
32:06And Benestan holding the inside line as DeWolf sweeps around the outside. Of course, it's a much longer line on the outside.
32:13So Benestan should have the advantage out of the corner and he does hold on to the fourth position.
32:19Let's move into the final two laps of MX2. Moto number two here. Not quite the moto that Kaida Wolf would have wanted.
32:30He'll be disappointed with that mistake earlier in the race when he toppled over the berm.
32:34Just goes to show that mistakes happen even to the best of the riders. Even the champion can make a small error.
32:42And having to pay Deely here fifth place, not where he wants to be.
32:47At the moment this would keep him off the podium as well.
32:50Madamo's second position would hold on. Although Ebert's still keeping that pressure on in third place.
32:56He's gone to about two seconds behind the Italian now. But none of this is bothering Simon Langenfelder.
33:0227. Over the line he goes to complete another lap.
33:06Livia in trouble. Oh, that's a shame for him. He was in the top ten.
33:12The Gabriel SS 24 rider.
33:16Didn't see what happened there. Whether he's come off the machine or if there's a mechanical issue.
33:19But he's pushing the bike. I don't know if he's going to continue looking at the lap charts.
33:23He is tumbling down the field here. So a real shame for the young Spanish number 51.
33:29That brings Rick Alzinger into the top ten.
33:32The Dutchman just behind here. Lavez pushing the bike away.
33:35So it looks like he's out of the race. What a shame for him.
33:40Although it will be good news for some of the riders further down.
33:43And notably, looks like Saad Suleimani, the French-born rider racing under the Moroccan license in 19th position now.
33:52He should get into 18th on the TM as DeWolf goes bar to bar with Benestan here down the inside.
33:57He's got the line through the corner, but Benestan should have the line into the left-hander.
34:01The momentum takes DeWolf through, though, and that could be crucial here.
34:05Kai DeWolf into fourth place.
34:08That should mean he would just about hold on to the red plate, I believe.
34:15And it should get him onto the podium. So that could be a crucial move here for Kai DeWolf.
34:19Benestan not giving up. Goes to the outside line of the banking. Let's have a look at that move again.
34:24It was one of these classic tactical moves here that's about two corners in the reckoning.
34:28So DeWolf rails the berm on the outside.
34:31Loses Brown, of course, taking the wider outside line.
34:34But Benestan had the inside with that momentum carrying DeWolf through the following corner.
34:39As Langenfelder, 8.8 seconds ahead. Final lap of the race here. Picking his way through the back markers.
34:45Heading towards the chequered flag. And a double moto victory for Simon Langenfelder.
34:51Two wins out of two. Celebrates with the panic rev on the KTM.
34:55Adamo over the line in second.
35:00Emerson third.
35:04And Kai DeWolf should just about get onto the podium here with fourth position.
35:08Adamo was fifth in moto number one. So...
35:12DeWolf should take third overall.
35:15What a perfect day it has been for Simon Langenfelder.
35:19Double moto victory today. And closing up in the title race.
35:23Make things very close indeed before they go to Portugal in two weeks' time.
35:28So Langenfelder from Adamo.
35:30Evertz in third. DeWolf in fourth.
35:32In that brilliant battle with DeWolf Benestan who takes fifth place.
35:36Another great result for the young Valerio Lata in sixth place.
35:39Cam McClellan fighting through to seventh position.
35:41Getting ahead of his teammate Párez who just goes over the line in eighth position.
35:46Arles Rizalis in ninth position, the Latvian.
35:49And Rick Elzinga will round out the top ten for the factory Yamaha team as the rest of the leading group of riders make their way through.
35:58So Rizalis in ninth place, Elzinga in tenth. Sankey.
36:02Over the line he goes in 11th position from Caswell.
36:04And David Vassaraz just a little bit further behind.
36:07But a fantastic second moto victory there for Simon Langenfelder.
36:12Two wins out of two, taking the double for the day.
36:17Certainly showing that he is a factor to be contended with in the MX2 World Championship as we move to Portugal in two weeks' time.
36:27He grabbed the lead very early on.
36:30And he should hold on.
36:31And it's got further back there.
36:32Pruniez goes through.
36:33Mike Guerta will take 15 to the delight of the Swiss.
36:36Tricky moto for Sascha Kernan in sixteenth.
36:38But Simon Langenfelder, your second moto winner.
36:40Simon Langenfelder, your second moto winner.
36:41A massive congratulations.
36:42Two foxhole shots, a double race win victory to get your first overall of the season.
36:46You were on a totally different level today.
36:49Yeah, I was feeling really good today.
36:52I liked the technical track.
36:54All those big bumps and deep ruts suited me really well.
36:57So, super happy to get my second 1-1.
37:00The first one was actually, how long ago?
37:03My first race ever with the Gali.
37:05So, it was time to get it done again.
37:08And yeah, super happy.
37:10Well deserved, thank you.
37:16Simon Langenfelder, perfect day for him.
37:18Only the second rider to get the maximum in 2025.
37:22So competitive has the MX2 class been this year.
37:27But Langenfelder making it all look so easy.
37:30Especially on a track that demands some pressures at the start.
37:35He got there early on, grabbed the whole shot.
37:37And was able to take the clean sweep of victories here in Switzerland.
37:41Brilliant victory then for Simon Langenfelder, who takes the 2nd Moto victory.
37:50Andrew Adamo followed him home in 2nd position.
37:53Fending off Liam Everts, who kept the pressure on the 3rd position.
37:56The Wolf fighting through and getting through onto the podium in 4th position from Benestan.
38:02Lata in 6th position.
38:04The Cleveland in 7th.
38:05And Pulmo Fares in 8th position.
38:07Ryan for 7th and 8th.
38:09And a great comeback there for Guilherme Fares.
38:12After his layoff through injury.
38:14Rieselis and Elzinger running at the top 10.
38:16Zanke in 11th position.
38:17Carlos Valk in 12th.
38:18Vraselas in 13th position.
38:21Further down we saw Rick Elzinger and Zanke.
38:26Grenier's 14th.
38:27Werder 15th for the Swiss.
38:28Sacha Koenern only 16th.
38:29Maxine Groh.
38:30Syed Salami.
38:31Magnus Smith.
38:32And Scott Smulders.
38:33So in terms of the overall this weekend.
38:35Langenfelder the double Moto victor.
38:37Everts and De Wolf tied on 40 points.
38:39Everts taking 2nd on the podium by virtue of his 2nd Moto score.
38:47Koenern struggled to get into the mix of things there.
38:49He takes the 11th overall just ahead of Elzinger.
38:51Rieselis in there with the KTM Yamaha sandwich just outside of the top 10.
38:55And certainly in terms of the MXGP, MX2 championships as we move to Portugal.
39:02Look how close it is.
39:043 points separating Kai de Wolf, Langenfelder at the top.
39:08And Adamo 20 points further back.
39:113rd overall.
39:12So Kai de Wolf really having to fight back there to keep hold of the red plate.
39:16But still as we leave Switzerland only 30 points separating the top 4 riders.
39:23Little movement there with the HRC boys.
39:26Lata moving ahead of his teammate Zanke on the edge of the top 10.
39:30Brilliant ride today for the Swiss privateer.
39:33Mike Werder who moves up the championship rankings.
39:36And in terms of the manufacturers, KTM go back to the front by virtue of Langenfelder's double motor victory today in that narrow battle with their sister brand Husqvarna.
39:47Yamaha, Triumph, Honda, TM and Kawasaki rounding out 7 manufacturers in 2025.
39:55What a day it has been here in MX2.
40:01Let's have a look at the box hole shot.
40:03Well the pressure was on for Langenfelder but he made it look all so easy sweeping to the hole shot just ahead of his teammate Adamo.
40:10And Simon Langenfelder it will be that takes the second box hole shot award of the day.
40:17Clean sweep of the hole shots.
40:19And the chequered flag, gate to flag victory in both motos today.
40:23Really has been the fantastic day.
40:26Still Sasha Kernan, the fast starter in MX2 this year.
40:29Four hole shots in 2025.
40:34Struggled in the second moto, got squeezed out at the start somewhat and struggled to make inroads on what has been a very difficult circuit for overtaking.
40:41Very fast circuit as well.
40:43So he just put a lot of pressure on the start.
40:48We move now to the podium presentations for MX2.
40:51Just to recap of course, it will be Kai DeWolf third, second for Liam Ebert.
40:56So Nistar Husqvarna's third and second on the podium today.
41:00And crucially Simon Langenfelder of Germany taking the top step of the podium on the Red Bull Factory KTM.
41:07So Kai DeWolf I think he'll be a bit disappointed with today's results.
41:12Not the day he would have really wanted.
41:16He'll be ruining that mistake in the second moto when he toppled over the berm.
41:19But nonetheless fighting back very well to snatch those 40 points and get himself on the podium.
41:25And who knows those points here and there could make all the difference at the end of the MX2 title race.
41:30Liam Ebert's much better weekend for him as he takes second on the podium today.
41:35And keeps his MX2 title hopes well and truly alive as he moved to Portugal in two weeks time.
41:41But the man of the day has been the German, Simon Langenfelder.
41:46He looks delighted as he makes his way onto the podium.
41:49And who can blame him? Two hole shots, two race wins and bringing the gap right down at the top of the MX2 title race.
41:58Davide Dikali on behalf of the Red Bull, actually KTM team.
42:07Moving of course over to KTM Power from Gas Gas in 2025.
42:13And Davide Dikali will be delighted with how the day has gone for his rider.
42:20Traditional Swiss trophy here being presented to the third place Kaido Wolf.
42:26The bell is a nod to the Swiss tradition.
42:38Something a bit different to give out as a trophy you would say.
42:42Most definitely as the Swiss motor president gives the second place award to Liam Ebert.
42:47And Simon Langenfelder after his brilliant day really showing he could be a factor in the MX2 title race.
42:55And keeping the pressure on Kaido Wolf.
42:58He will take first overall for today. Doesn't quite take the red plate.
43:02But nonetheless I'm sure he will be very pleased with how the weekend has gone.
43:07And you can see by the look on his face how happy he is.
43:10On a track that really punishes any kind of a mistake.
43:15He has been absolutely faultless today.
43:17Of course the winning manufacturer being the Red Bull Factory KTM team.
43:20Kikali taking the winning manufacturer title for KTM for the weekend.
43:27The red plate of course. That stays in the very capable hands of Kaido Wolf.
43:33He will have been like we say disappointed with his third overall.
43:38Kisses the red plate. And he knows that he is still the right to beat.
43:43As we move forward to Portugal in two weeks time.
43:46281 points. Only three points ahead of Langenfelder.
43:49All to play for as we move to Portugal in two weeks time.
43:53But now for the winner the German national anthem.
44:23I'm going to have to run for today.
44:25Second this
