00:00Camera's running.
00:02Hi, my name's James Mahaffey.
00:04My wife Lisa, my son Rhys and Freya.
00:07Very recently they were coming to school in the morning.
00:11This is quite dangerous in the morning.
00:14James, just to be clear, where exactly are we please?
00:17We're in front of Beardwood School on Merrill's Moor Avenue, where my kids go to school.
00:21In Waterlooville?
00:22In Waterlooville.
00:23Thank you. OK, sorry, please keep going.
00:27So they were just going to school on a normal morning and they were stepped out on this road
00:31and a car came too fast up the road heading towards the roundabout and nearly hit my family.
00:36We've just been told something dumb about this road.
00:40It's an accident waiting to happen.
00:42People drive too fast. There's no crossing.
00:44It hasn't been accepted by the county council, so there's no lollipop lady or designated crossing
00:49and we just want to do something to make sure that no one gets hurt.
00:53So nobody is prepared to take responsibility for the traffic?
00:57No, no one's taking any responsibility for the safety. We think it could get worse.
01:01Including the county council?
01:03The county council, because it's an unadopted road, are not taking any action at all.
01:11Thank you all for speaking to the news.
01:14Bye.
