Selangor MCA will be providing free legal advice to victims of the burst pipeline inferno in Putra Heights and it has set up a special team of lawyers for that purpose, says Datuk Lawrence Low.
The MCA vice-president said the Putra Heights fire was a serious incident and over 200 premises were affected.
Low also said MCA and its Crisis Relief Squad of MCA (CRSM) have spoken to the victims at the temporary shelter at the mosque to see what they needed.

00:00We came here this morning. Again we feel very sad when we see all these victims. In fact
00:13yesterday in the first we came over MCA Selangor and also CRSM, MCA CRSM. So we talked to some
00:26of the victims. I think some of them feel like total loss. Just like the house and their
00:34cars, motorbikes, total loss you see. They really feel like a lot of uncertainties. What
00:42to do for the next one or two months because this is a temporary place that they can stay.
00:48And after that their belongings, their house and all cars, all lost you see. So they feel
00:57very uncertain and what to do. MCA and CRSM in the first time we came over we tried to
01:05talk to the victims what they need. So some of the victims they told us that they need
01:10the pampers, they need the toilet papers and so on. So today in the first morning we bring
01:17along all the pampers and also toilet papers as they requested to distribute to them.
01:24For this disaster actually it's very sudden and quite quick. And as our visit yesterday
01:32based on their needs. Yesterday their need is personal hygiene items. So diapers, adult
01:37diapers, their sanitary and this toilet roll paper. Then for today they have different
01:43needs. Now it's their most on like power bank because here we have more than 100 families
01:49here. So power bank is their most urgent items needs. And we will based on their needs time
01:57to time to update in our this GoCare online crowdfunding, charity crowdfunding portal
02:04to do the online donations. So public can donate in cash or online or donation in kind.
02:11As we know today besides this human, we are helping the pets as well. I think this pets
02:19is a group that is a lot of people that actually taking care. A lot of people donate food,
02:25these personal items things. Actually there are a lot of these victims they have the pets.
02:30So we have talked with few NGOs. We are bringing the cage later and also some pets food. So
02:38the public besides they can donate for this victim, they also can donate this pets food.
02:44The pets also victims for this disaster. MCS Langor, we have set up a special team to take
02:52care as what we know this is a grade one disaster. And they are involving more than 200 houses,
03:00victims. So we will set up a special team. And we have lawyers team also to provide free legal
03:09advice. We know some of the victims they keep on asking in terms of insurance claim for their
03:17house loss, for their cars loss and so on. They are so concerned. And also they also concerned
03:24about the installment to the banks loan and so on. So we will give free legal advice to
03:33those victims who need our advice and they can contact us.
