00:00You're a fan of this next person, we have Miss Becky G!
00:03Guys, look who it is!
00:05Oh my gosh, it's great to see you!
00:07Good to see you!
00:09Hello, how are you?
00:11Guys, it's always a pleasure to see Miss Becky G, and oh my gosh, you look incredible tonight!
00:17Thank you so much, so do you!
00:19Okay, guys, we need to have a moment. Jazzy is growing up in front of our eyes.
00:23Are we, like, all emotional? Because I feel like I've seen you just evolve
00:28and only become more and more, what's the word, of a superstar.
00:35Thank you so much for that, and honestly, it's just amazing to see you every single time that I do,
00:41and I actually think I'm getting kind of tall.
00:43I mean, if I didn't have my heels on, I think Jazzy and I are the same height, for sure.
00:47Maybe like one inch taller, but okay.
00:49Next time you guys do an interview together, she'll surpass you.
00:51Yes! I'll bring out the measuring tape, don't worry.
00:54You're presenting to Tyla tonight. I mean, you love her.
00:57You've been backing her since day one.
00:59How does it feel to have this full circle moment now, where you're honoring her?
01:02It feels very full circle, you know.
01:04We're in my hometown of Inglewood.
01:06When I received the Impact Award, I think it was a...
01:09Oh, we got a little...
01:11Aw, baby!
01:15It was a full circle moment, for sure, when I received the Impact Award,
01:19and it was one of the most important moments in my career, I think,
01:24to recognize that what we do is so much bigger than us,
01:26and I think Tyla really stands by that,
01:28for herself, and also for other women in this industry,
01:32and she's just so beautiful, she's so talented. I love her.
01:36Right, who doesn't love Tyla?
01:38And speaking about Tyla, what impact do you think that Tyla is bringing
01:40and having on the music industry?
01:42You know, I think that cultural awareness is something that, as artists,
01:46you know, we're inspired by so many different things,
01:48but the internet, I feel like, has expanded our worlds,
01:52and connected so many different parts of the world
01:54when it comes to collaborations and stuff like that,
01:58and I think her going so hard for her country,
02:03for her genre of music,
02:05for being a genre bender of all the genres within, you know,
02:09the music that comes from her blood,
02:13I think it's just, it's so amazing and so fascinating to me.
02:17So that's, I think, what I admire most.
02:19I mean, a lot like you.
02:21You are so strong and outspoken in representing your roots.
02:25How does it feel, as you continue to grow in your journey,
02:29seeing the reaction to people coming up to you and being like,
02:31thank you, thank you for having this voice?
02:33It's very, it's meaningful.
02:35I think it's reassuring that, you know,
02:37you gotta trust the journey, the journey's what teaches us,
02:39not the destination,
02:41and I think for all of us to be alongside one another
02:43in our own individual journeys,
02:45to empower one another,
02:48to support one another,
02:50is important,
02:52and I think, you know, if I can be of any point of reference
02:56or inspiration,
02:58to just be your true authentic self
03:00and to own every phase you're in,
03:02you know, every phase.
03:04We learn as we go.
03:06Try things. Explore.
03:08Amazing. I mean, leaving us with words of wisdom.
03:10Exactly, and guys,
03:12it's always great to see you, Ms. Becky G,
03:14and everyone, I hope we're all very excited for tonight,
03:16because it's going to be amazing!
03:18Thank you so much, Becky G!
