00:12Tell us a bit about your performance tonight.
00:14So we're doing my album title track, Am I Okay?
00:17Yes.
00:18Per usual, there's gonna be a lot of sparkles
00:20and it's just such a fun song to sing, so I'm excited.
00:23I love that.
00:24So who's a woman that's inspiring you in music right now?
00:28Inspiring my music right now?
00:30I mean, there's so many.
00:32I feel like at all times, Kacey Musgraves and Miranda Lambert,
00:36they always, I love listening to all their new releases
00:39and they just always bring it, so.
00:42And you're winning Rule Breaker tonight.
00:44You come from a long line of amazing Rule Breakers,
00:47including your friend Lainey Wilson.
00:49Why is it important for you to go against the grain in that way?
00:53Well, I think all artists that are successful nowadays,
00:57they're not following rules.
00:58There's no guidebook,
01:00because you can't base another artist's success
01:02off of how you should do it.
01:04So I think it's really just about trusting your gut
01:06and embracing individuality in your songwriting
01:09and just like what makes you you
01:11and just really leaning into that, so.
01:13Right, and authenticity as well.
01:14Yes.
01:15Very important, guys.
01:16Of course.
01:17I mean, do you have any advice for keeping authentic?
01:19Because some people, you know, they struggle with that.
01:21Right.
01:22I think it's just like for me, when I get into the writer's room,
01:25even if it's uncomfortable to be that honest,
01:28I just think that I know the look on my fans' faces
01:32when I'm singing a song like Girl in the Mirror
01:34where I had to be painfully authentic.
01:36Yep.
01:37And I just know that the more honest you are,
01:40the more people are going to relate
01:41because we're all kind of going through the same stuff, so.
01:43I think that's such a good lesson.
01:45Yes, it is.
01:46I feel like a lot of people can learn from that.
01:48Yes.
01:49For the most part, yeah.
