00:00Hi there, a spell of rain clearing through and then a couple of days of changeable, cooler,
00:07showery weather before more settled and warmer weather arrives from Sunday.
00:11For the time being though, the rain clears the far south-east around lunchtime, much
00:16brighter skies with some decent sunny spells in places but also this unstable west-north-west
00:22of the airstream and that airflow is going to be particularly brisk in the north-west
00:27with coastal gales, western and northern Scotland feeding in plenty of showers with the risk
00:32of hail and thunder in places and some hill snow as well.
00:36So the further north-west you are, the more likely you are to experience this cool breeze
00:41along with frequent showers towards the south-east once the early rain clears, 15 Celsius possible
00:46in any sunny spells and the winds ease across southern parts overnight.
00:51The showers die away, plenty of clear spells for England, Wales, eastern and southern Scotland.
00:56Still some showers remaining for the north, central and western part of Scotland and for
01:01Northern Ireland the cloud thickens by dawn so that's going to keep things frost-free
01:06in the north-west but under clear skies and with lighter winds elsewhere, 2-3 Celsius
01:12widely and in some places below freezing with a few mist patches first thing across central
01:17and southern parts of the UK.
01:19But the mist disappears quick enough and plenty of sunshine across England and Wales through
01:24the morning.
01:25Eastern Scotland seeing a bright start as well, however an ex-weather system rolls in
01:29that's going to bring a spell of rain once again to Scotland, Northern Ireland and then
01:33pushing into parts of north-west England, west Wales and the far south-west by the end
01:37of the afternoon.
01:39It's a relatively weak front towards the south but it will be persistent and heavy at times
01:44as far as the rain is concerned for western Scotland as it pushes through.
01:48That's followed by further showers into the far north-west but ahead of the front we keep
01:52the sunshine for East Midlands, East Anglia and the south-east and that's where the highest
01:56temperatures will be once again, 13-14 Celsius, perhaps 15 degrees into the afternoon if we
02:02get enough sunshine.
02:03It will still be breezy, that breeze helping to push the rain through but it's a weakening
02:08band of rain so largely just an area of cloud and some spots of rain as we go into the evening.
02:14Frequent showers continuing for the north of Scotland, elsewhere drying up with some
02:18clear spells and once that front's out of the way, by Sunday we've got higher pressure
02:23building in from the south and that's going to stay with us throughout much of next week.
02:28In fact it's going to be positioned to the east of the UK, we're going to see sunnier
02:32and warmer weather drawn north across much of the country from the continent.
02:38So a brief spell of changeable, cool, showery weather for a couple of days before higher
02:43pressure returns.
