00:00Hi there, just like March is said to do according to weather law this forecast
00:06period is expected to go in like a lion and go out like a lamb and certainly it
00:11is an unsettled start to the period with a band of rain crossing the country from
00:15the northwest to the southeast. Some heavy bursts associated with this rain
00:19as it clears the southern half of the UK overnight but clearer skies are
00:24following behind and winds although blustery could ease in a few spots to
00:30give a touch of frost into the northeast of Scotland and just ahead of the front
00:34actually it will be chilly in the far southeast 2 to 4 Celsius by dawn ahead
00:39of the approaching cloud. So it'll be a dry start to the far southeast but it
00:43doesn't last long the weather front is moving through and it's going to clear
00:48the Midlands and the southwest by 7 or 8 a.m. but it won't be until lunchtime
00:52that it clears parts of East Anglia and Southeast England. Brighter skies do
00:56follow for all of us by the afternoon though albeit with those gusty winds and
01:01frequent showers. The showers most frequent across northwestern parts of
01:05the UK particularly western Scotland merging to give longer spells of rain
01:08and mixed in with thunder, hail, hill snow as well. It's going to feel cold in that
01:13wind coming from the northwest certainly drop in temperatures in the south even
01:17as the Sun does return into the afternoon 12 to 14 Celsius expected but
01:22notably fresh across the northwest 8 or 9 Celsius and feeling even colder given
01:29the strength of the wind. But in between the showers as I mentioned there will be
01:32some bright spells and certainly across southern areas the showers peter out
01:36into the evening on Friday. Clear skies then developing extensively as we start
01:41the weekend although still some showers remaining across central and
01:45northwestern parts of Scotland and the cloud thickens by the end of the night
01:48into Northern Ireland. But where we do have those long-lasting clear spells
01:52temperatures will fall away low single figures in places a touch of frost to
01:55wake up to on Saturday a chilly start for most of us but a bright start
01:59beautiful weather around first thing Saturday temperatures responding well as
02:03a result and we keep those sunny spells going across central and eastern parts
02:07of England into the afternoon but further northwest another front moves
02:12through that's going to bring some persistent rain mostly light to moderate
02:15for western parts of England and Wales turning up around the middle of the
02:18afternoon for many. Heavier for Scotland and Northern Ireland but it does push
02:22through followed by further showers and again gusty winds so that's going to
02:27make it feel cool once more across northwest Scotland 8 to 10 Celsius
02:32further southeast where we do get some sunshine and lighter winds not so bad
02:3614 perhaps 15 Celsius if we do get enough sunny spells but as I say it's
02:42going to turn cloudier with some more rain moving through across western parts
02:46as we end Saturday that then clears as a weakening front because higher pressures
02:51building in from the south is going to Sunday much more widespread sunny skies
02:56then developing and Monday the last day of March going out like a lamb with that
03:01high pressure bringing plenty of settled weather and long spells of sunshine as
