00:00Hey Carson, how was Supercross Futures last week?
00:05Oh, it was pretty good.
00:06The track seemed a lot better than years previous and I had a lot of fun.
00:10I got three points, so I only need three more and hopefully I can get it done at Anaheim
00:14too.
00:15If not, I've got to go to Oakland, but it should be good.
00:18Get some more track time in some stadiums like this and just have some more fun.
00:22How does the points system work?
00:24What do you need to get and what pays what?
00:27Top five gets three points and then you have to get top three at one of these events to
00:32qualify for Monster Cup.
00:34I'm in for Monster Cup, got third.
00:36Top ten gets two points, so hopefully I get three more points and then I don't have to
00:40do any more races like this and then I can just sit and watch.
00:43Cool.
00:44How was the track compared to last year?
00:46Last year was super mellow, I heard.
00:48Yeah, this year was really good.
00:50They left one of the rhythms, but it seemed like a lot of people were crashing, but it
00:53separated a lot of people for sure.
00:55Last year I was able to do it every lap and really make some time up on people where if
00:59they kind of leave it flat, I think people are still going to crash anyway.
01:03I think it really helped a lot this year.
01:06How much racing did you get to do?
01:08Not really that much.
01:09I think I probably only got to do like 40 laps all day and I was there from like 7 in the
01:14morning riding to like 8 o'clock at night racing, so not that much track time.
01:19I raced three classes, so yeah, I think it would be cool if they added some more laps
01:23and stuff like that because you get a bad start and stuff like that.
01:26It really just messes your whole race up.
01:28How much advantage do you have having a supercross track to train on privately?
01:33I have a pretty big advantage.
01:36I ran supercross suspension.
01:38I think some teams didn't.
01:39I know my whole team ran supercross suspension, so I think that helped us out a lot in the
01:43gnarlier section.
01:44It made it a little bit safer if you case something where some teams kind of struggled
01:49with that and their riders kind of crashed.
01:51Yeah, it definitely helps out.
01:53Helps out my whole team for sure because we all can go up and ride, so yeah, I like that.
01:57Cool.
01:58Thanks, man.
01:59So Vincent, how was supercross features in Phoenix?
02:02It was okay.
02:04I crashed out of the lead in the 7.9 and got third in the 7.11.
02:08Cool.
02:09Was it cool racing on the same track?
02:11Yeah.
02:12It was kind of a little bit of the same.
02:15Was it gnarly?
02:16Were you scared at all?
02:17No, not really.
02:20Not really?
02:21Not really.
02:22Was your dad stretching out for you?
02:24Yeah.
02:25Yeah?
02:26What was the best part of it?
02:28I liked the double table over two that they had there.
02:32Nice.
02:33Did they have the whoops in?
02:35They took every other one out.
02:40Oh, so it was like doubles?
02:41Yeah.
02:42Is that how you went through them?
02:43Yeah.
02:44Cool.
02:46Did you do any fancy showing off on the finish line after getting third?
02:49No.
02:50No?
02:51Not unless you win?
02:52Yeah.
02:53Are you racing tomorrow?
02:54Yeah.
02:55How are you going to do tomorrow?
02:57I think I can win.
02:59What are you going to do on the finish line?
03:02Whip or something.
03:04Alright, good luck, buddy.
03:05Thanks.
03:06How did the supercross features go for you?
03:09Good.
03:10The last sequence was good.
03:11I got two seconds and two firsts, so I can't do much better than that.
03:14I go into A2 and try to do the same thing.
03:17Nice.
03:18So you did it last year, right?
03:20Yeah, I did it last year.
03:21So last year's track, I heard, was like a vet track.
03:23How was this one in Phoenix?
03:25It was good.
03:26They didn't change up too much stuff.
03:28They kind of left the triple bases and the finish line, and they kind of just filled in the whoops.
03:32They actually left the rhythm section, so it was kind of complicated to get through that stuff,
03:37but I think it separates those guys.
03:39Yeah.
03:40Was it big?
03:42Big?
03:43I mean, were you scared?
03:44Or was it old hat for you?
03:46It wasn't too bad.
03:48It was pretty bad for the pros.
03:51I think they had to go double, triple.
03:53It was like some weird section.
03:55But A5, just go double, double, double, so it was pretty easy.
03:58Nice.
03:59Is it pretty cool to race in the stadium?
04:01Yeah, it's cool to race in the stadium.
04:03I think guys racing the night before get that same feeling, and when they turn the lights on,
04:08it's like you feel like that guy, you know?
04:11Yeah.
04:12Did you have any of the motos under the lights at night?
04:14Yeah, they actually wait to put the main events on at night.
04:18Oh, in the evening, okay.
04:19So all of us get to race under the lights.
04:21That's cool.
04:22Does the dirt change at night?
04:23Does moisture come out of it?
04:25Yeah, they do some track prep, so the moisture comes out of it, and the lights turn on,
04:29and it makes the track even better.
04:31Cool.
04:32So do you think this program, Supercross Futures, it's going to expose you to Supercross
04:41and give you experience before you have to get on a big bike and try to get your points, right?
04:45Yeah, it definitely helps.
04:47All the guys that are on 450s now didn't have that, so it's definitely going to help,
04:52and racing under the lights is going to be cool, and then transferring to the pros.
04:56So I think it's going to take a couple of nerves off, and racing under those lights will be cool.
05:00Cool.
05:01Good luck tomorrow.
