00:00Hey, welcome to SWAT Moto Live presented by OGO.
00:12My name is Don Maeda, editor-in-chief of Transworld Motocross Magazine, and I'm joined in studio
00:17today by my friend Brock Tickle.
00:20So Tick, thanks for coming down today.
00:22Yeah, no worries.
00:23Thanks for having me.
00:24Did I interrupt any busy schedule today or anything?
00:27No, not at all.
00:28Nothing, huh?
00:29Not much has been going on, so I was open to come, and obviously, I enjoy your company,
00:35and we're here.
00:36No homo.
00:37Right?
00:38Yeah.
00:39So, I was thinking about it while I was driving here.
00:42My first memory of you was not as amateur, but it was your pro debut at Glen Helen, it
00:47was 06.
00:48Yep.
00:49Were you riding an all-white Honda with a white eggshell helmet?
00:55Maybe not the helmet, but yes.
00:56The helmet wasn't white?
00:57It might have been.
00:58I can't remember.
00:59It was white with no graphics.
01:00So I rode for MDK that weekend, so obviously being from the East Coast, I drove to Millville
01:06my own after Loretta's that year, and then went to Steel City, and I didn't get accepted
01:11for Unadilla, so I missed Unadilla because the entry list was full, and talked to Danny
01:17Palladino and rode under MDK for Glen Helen.
01:21It's kind of odd for a guy to make a pro debut in the 450 class, isn't it?
01:25Yeah, we knew the 250F that I was racing at the time wasn't competitive enough to put
01:31myself in a position to...
01:33We felt like just the 450 was a better plan of action to try to get a ride and do this
01:38professional motocross career.
01:40Yeah.
01:41Was that always the goal when you were coming up, like, this is what I'm doing for a job?
01:46Not really.
01:47When I was like 14, that's when I kind of made the decision that my dad sat me down
01:51and basically was like, if you want to do this and you want to turn pro, I need to know
01:55now.
01:56If you don't, we're going to back off a little bit and stick to staying local and not worry
02:01about spending so much money to get you to the amateur nationals you need to.
02:05Yeah.
02:06And we moved forward, and it went well so far.
02:10And then my second major Brock Tickle memory was the podium.
02:15The dog.
02:16When you thanked your little dog.
02:18Yeah.
02:19Why did that cause such a stink?
02:21I think...
02:22It was Larry Brooks, right?
02:23Yeah.
02:24He started it.
02:25But I think he just heard that.
02:26And then that was one of the first things that came out of my mouth.
02:28So I think he just heard that and ran with it.
02:30You know what I mean?
02:31I mean, I did thank my mechanic and sponsors in the interview, but that's what came out
02:35first.
02:36So then that's what got brought up in these forms.
02:40Yeah.
02:41And that was Canada, wasn't it?
02:43Yeah, that was Toronto.
02:44Yeah.
02:452009.
02:46Mm-hmm.
02:47Yeah.
02:48Okay.
02:49And then you came forward, 2011 Western Regional Supercross Champion.
02:54Yep.
02:55Did you ever think you'd make it to that point?
02:58I didn't even think I would make it to winning a race, and that was in 2010, Seattle.
03:03And then when I did that, obviously, Star Racing wasn't the pinnacle team at the time
03:11for...
03:12That it is.
03:13Or that it is even now for the lights class.
03:14And I knew if I could go to Pro Circuit or even GEICO, there was a shot that I could
03:19win a championship, especially after finishing on the podium a couple of times that year
03:24in 2010.
03:27So hounded Mitch for a solid month in his office, drive there, sorry, he can't see you
03:35right now.
03:36Drive home, call him, don't answer, go to the office.
03:41Got to see him two or three times, maybe, and probably the most nerve-wracking conversation
03:46you can imagine for me, just because he would just sit there and let you talk.
03:52And I just wanted to show him that I wanted the ride, you know what I mean?
03:55And I think that's why I ended up getting the ride in that scenario.
04:00Yeah, I've heard a few stories like that about Mitch.
04:05I would have assumed that Mitch recruited you to join the team, but I've heard several
04:10stories like that.
04:11Like Matt Walker, for instance, would go there all the time and pitch Mitch, give me a chance,
04:15give me a chance.
04:16So I have to imagine, like Mitch to me is like, maybe I've met him in his more mellow
04:21years or whatever, but I mean, he's always been super cool to me, but I'm a journalist.
04:25So as a guy you're trying to get a job with, he has to be super intimidating.
04:29Well, no, for sure.
04:30I mean, and I think he kind of cooled, I know, or prior to me being there, there were stories
04:36obviously that he was pretty strict and pretty gnarly on his guys.
04:39But I think around the timeframe that I went there, he definitely mellowed off.
04:43And even now we have good conversations and whatnot, and he's not intimidating.
04:47But I knew it was something I had to do at the time and I had to offer to stay at STAR,
04:55but I knew it was time to move up or move to Monster Energy Pro Series Kawasaki.
05:01When you get on that team, like, I mean, you know, a stock 250F is fast, and then you get
05:09on a team with a race bike of that caliber, it's not even comprehensible to a normal guy,
05:16right?
05:17Like how powerful those things are.
05:18Not only that, just how good everything feels.
05:22Like when you get on it, it just feels good.
05:25That's what happened the first day I rode it.
05:26Like I know it was new and it was different.
05:28And obviously the first thing you're going to notice is what your bike didn't do prior
05:31to that first.
05:34But there was nothing I could pick out that I didn't like.
05:38I was feeding off the feeling 100%, and I think that's what put me in the mindset to
05:43go out and win the championship that following year.
05:46Okay.
05:47So winning the title, huge milestone in your career.
05:52Did you run out and do anything dumb with your bonus?
05:55I actually wrote a check to the IRS at the end of the year and put...
06:03Was that for previous?
06:04No, it was for the following year.
06:07If you look at it in the big picture now, half of...
06:10Not half of it.
06:11Basically half of it went down on my house, and the other half I paid to the IRS.
06:14Okay.
06:15Well, hey.
06:16So I got the house and the payment's low, so can't complain.
06:20Yeah, definitely.
06:21All right.
06:22So transitioning into the 450 class, why is it easy for some guys to come off 250s winning,
06:33just boom, straight into 450s and winning, and other people it's not as easy?
06:38Yeah, like myself, it was difficult.
06:40Supercross in 2012 was difficult.
06:43I was all bits of struggling.
06:47I think a lot had to do with it.
06:50I didn't reset after I won the championship, still, it took me a long time to gather up
06:56and make another plan.
06:58You know what I mean?
06:59That became a goal that was so big that I kind of forgot about stuff after that.
07:04You know what I mean?
07:05So it took me a long time to get regrouped.
07:08And then Mitch had a couple of meetings with me, and he was on me.
07:11I mean, he should have been.
07:14And I ended up almost having to ride 250 outdoors, and I was kind of upset about it.
07:22And I used that as fuel, and I got on track and had a good outdoor season.
07:30You've always been known in the 450 class as a super consistent guy.
07:37You're the workhorse everyone can count on to finish well inside the top 10, around the
07:43top five, get on the podium here and there.
07:48That's more than 90% of the sport people in the sport will ever accomplish.
07:54But I have a feeling that's not enough for you, and you still have this burning desire.
07:58No, for sure.
08:00I felt like this year, I was just breaking through that barrier to be that guy that's
08:07going to be fighting for podiums every weekend.
08:10And I felt like where I was at, I was just going to build more.
08:15And 100%, like, if you go out and get top fives, top seven every time, and you have
08:22one guy that maybe finishes close to you in the series, but he has maybe a couple heat
08:29race wins, a couple hole shots, they might pick that guy over you just because of that.
08:34Even though at the end of the series, I beat him.
08:36They would rather have something like that, which is understandable to a certain extent,
08:40but I don't know.
08:42It's kind of hard, but that's the way it works.
08:45Since that time when you had to market yourself to Mitch, have you had to do that again?
08:51Kind of with the KTM last year, RCH was like a home.
08:58To be honest, there was obviously some years where things didn't get done until late, but
09:02I was always somewhat kept on page with what was going on.
09:06So that wasn't really me telling them that I needed the ride, that they knew.
09:11But for KTM, I felt like it was the same kind of scenario, that I needed to make it happen.
09:19So were you driving down to Temecula and asking to see Roger?
09:22No, I was on the phone with Ian quite a bit.
09:25We met for lunch a couple times, and nothing really ever got done right away, but I saw
09:32it coming together nicely way before it even happened.
09:37I knew Dungy was on his way out, so I knew that they were going to need somebody, and
09:44there was even thoughts of them maybe having three guys.
09:48I felt like it was a time for a change for me, for being at RCH, and then with them closing
09:52doors.
09:56I didn't know for sure if they were closing doors, but obviously this time I felt like
09:59it was going to happen, and it did.
10:02So if I go back and look, if I wouldn't have put myself in that situation to get the KTM
10:08ride, I might not have even got a ride.
10:11Because at the time, there was not that many spots available, and then a couple guys were
10:17doing really good, like Justin Bogle and Outdoors turned it on and got an overall win at Buds
10:23Creek, and that was right around the time frame I got my KTM deal done.
10:29There's a lot of juggling when it comes down to the 450 class right now.
10:33There's so many good guys, and the guys that stay healthy seem to get the rides, and then
10:38the guys that get injured kind of either stay in or stay out, you know what I mean?
10:44So it's difficult.
10:45Cool.
10:46Well, hey, we're going to take a quick break to hear from our sponsors, but when we come
10:50back we'll talk about 2018 and how it turned out after April 13th.
10:5811th.
10:59Stay tuned.
11:10Hey, what's up?
11:11I'm Brooks Whelan, and I'm a stand-up comedian, and today I'm going to compare three different
11:15types of bags, the Ogio Alpha Convoy 320 Backpack.
11:19First of all, let's compare my college pillowcase.
11:21Now, my pillowcase material is made of 100% cotton and then years of just sobbing into
11:27it at night, but when it comes to the Ogio 320, it's made of Cordura Eco-Made fabric.
11:32It's lightweight, durable, and it's highly sustainable for the earth because it's made
11:36of recycled plastic.
11:37Also, this thing's got reflectivity.
11:39If light hits it, it'll shine back.
11:40You're not going to get hit by a car.
11:41If you do, it's not the bag's fault.
11:44There's no reflectivity on this at all, and actually, you probably shouldn't be seen out
11:47of the house with it because they'd be like, that's weird.
11:49What are you, Linus?
11:50I think I can do without that if I'm going on an airplane.
11:54All right, now let's compare internal organization with a dope leather fanny pack.
11:58I mean, you're going to get your Altoids mixed up with your Werther's Originals, and then
12:02it's just going to be a mess.
12:03And if you were supposed to have a pouch like this, you'd be a marsupial.
12:06Now, this is very different when it comes to internal organization.
12:09It's got this cool waterproof zipper with two different pouches, one for your laptop
12:14and then a whole other one for a tablet.
12:15You can put those guys in there.
12:17You have a separate pouch here if you want to put your notebook, where you write down
12:20all the thoughts that someone else read.
12:21They would make you talk to a doctor.
12:23Put your headphones in there, easy access to your wires and charge your phone.
12:28Over here is for the water.
12:29It's got its own little key hook.
12:31Check that out.
12:32Boom.
12:33That's actually fun.
12:34Check it out.
12:35This is a place for everything in this backpack.
12:36Sorry, cool leather fanny pack.
12:37I got to go with OGO 320.
12:39Now let's compare the OGO 320 to the stick and bindle when it comes to customizable options.
12:45This is a classic, okay?
12:47Every John Steinbeck novel, somebody's walking along, accidentally killing somebody, and
12:52then having to go hide in the woods.
12:54As much as I like the stick and bindle, I feel like the OGO is more customizable.
12:58Now these are the OGO Mod System.
13:00They're sold separately and are customizable with the entire OGO Alpha Convoy collection
13:04of bags.
13:05These are really easy to use.
13:06Down here, hook, hook, one more hook, boom.
13:10Now your bag's got another bag.
13:11Also, it's got a pass through.
13:13Get the handle straight through there, then you've got the bag on top of your bag, wearing
13:18a bag.
13:19That's like a stick and bindle with a fanny pack.
13:22So for customizability, I'm going to have to go with the OGO 320.
13:26Check out the OGO Alpha Convoy 320 backpack.
13:30It's a cool bag.
13:31It's helping the environment.
13:32It feels nice.
13:33I actually feel stronger wearing it.
13:35Get ready.
13:37Three, two, one.
13:40Enjoy the ride.
13:44Since 1973, FMF has been about getting more out of riding motorcycles.
13:55More power.
13:56More wins.
13:57More fun.
13:58Innovation in American craftsmanship makes FMF today's leader in performance.
14:03FMF.
14:04Feel the power.
14:14Hey, welcome back to Swap Moto Live presented by OGO.
14:33I'm here with my friend Brock Tickle.
14:37We hinted at it before the break, but you know, the year was going well for you.
14:43You're gaining momentum this year in Supercross with the Red Bull KTM team and the shit kind
14:50of hit the fan in April, right?
14:52Yeah, it happened right before Minneapolis Supercross was boarding a flight because we
14:59had press day that weekend on Thursday night and went to go to the bathroom, came back,
15:05went to go get my boarding pass and opened up my phone and email popped up on the screen
15:10and said, FIM legal department.
15:13So right away I was like, I have to open this.
15:17And then I read it and I was like, you got to be kidding me.
15:20So called the team, called out, and I mean, I called everybody that it mattered to right
15:26away to let them know.
15:27And they were like, well, I was like, should I just stay here?
15:30Because obviously I can't race this weekend, it says it right here.
15:33No, I flew to the race still.
15:35We met at the track, tried to go down for press day.
15:40And Gallagher pulled me aside, said, sorry, it's probably not a good idea for you to go
15:44out for press day.
15:45I mean, you can if you really want to, but you're not going to be able to race.
15:48So that's whenever we decided just to go back to the truck.
15:51And then I flew home that night, Monday morning, went straight to the lab, did a urine test
16:01for water code there, clean, dropped off some supplements and that testing took a while,
16:08but nothing came back.
16:12And since then, it's kind of been, it's the same old story.
16:16No hearing dates still.
16:20There's really, I feel like in my position, there's not much I can do.
16:24That's what makes it bad.
16:25You know what I mean?
16:26I don't really have any force behind me to tell them what to do or how to do their job,
16:31but I feel like it's not done the right way.
16:34Okay, so for those of you who may have been living under a rock all year and haven't heard,
16:41there was a water drug test at the San Diego Supercross and Brock tested positive for methylhexamine.
16:49Five methylhexamine, two amine.
16:52There you go.
16:53But it's a substance found in like nasal sprays and-
16:57Yeah, decongestants and pre-workouts.
17:00I mean-
17:01It's like the CrossFit meathead guy, right?
17:02It's literally like so broad, like I don't know how it can be in a decongestant and in
17:06a pre-workout.
17:07So, I mean, the lab I talked to obviously has dealt with cases because they deal with
17:12some pro cyclists there.
17:15And just that compound is so, they're like, this could be anything, honestly.
17:19Any kind of powder, could be in geranium oil, which is, I mean-
17:24Massage oil.
17:25Yeah, I mean, you never know.
17:27So, like I said, I went and got tested myself.
17:32The Monday after I got basically notified and nothing came up.
17:37So that kind of made me feel even, not worse, but like now looking at it now, it's like
17:43hard to accept the whole process, you know what I mean?
17:47From the small bit of information I know about the substance, it's not even a supplement
17:54that would benefit an endurance athlete like a motocrosser, right?
17:58Yeah, so basically-
17:59It's like burst type thing.
18:01Yeah, it's, the lab told me that it would basically, and doctors have told me that it
18:07would actually restrict your blood flow.
18:09So I mean, I'm not a doctor or a scientist, but I mean, we're athletes and I think that
18:14just sounds like a negative for us.
18:17So yeah, the WADA code is, there's a lot of things on there we don't know about, you know
18:23what I mean?
18:24They give it to us, but anybody can go on there and read it.
18:29You'd have to go online, research each compound to find out what those compounds are found
18:35in and that's not very easy to do, you know what I mean?
18:38And I mean, you can get in trouble for taking all kinds of stuff.
18:41You can take too many aspirins or something, right?
18:44I mean, there is a limit on coffee.
18:48So yeah.
18:51So Brock was issued a provisional suspension and typically the way it works is then he
18:59has a hearing and they decide your suspension term or your fate, whatnot, but it's been
19:10six months, seven months?
19:12Six months.
19:13And you've yet to have a hearing.
19:14Yep.
19:15And basically you're still just floating in limbo right now?
19:19Well, the last couple of months have been difficult for me to be honest and I've needed
19:23some to do and some came together this week for me with helping a guy out for East Coast
19:33and get prepared.
19:34He's going to be here next week.
19:37He raced MXGP last year or MX2 overseas.
19:42His name's Marshall Welton.
19:44So I have that coming up until, and it's a three month term to get ready for East Coast.
19:49I'm going to help with training on the bike, off the bike, do everything with him.
19:57Bike rides, gym, help with bike setup, maybe help with a little bit of sponsors here and
20:03there to get him going and we'll see how it turns out.
20:07I'm excited for it because it'll keep me busy and I enjoy doing that because it's like giving
20:11back and then it almost puts me back in place like I'm doing what I would normally be doing.
20:18Yeah.
20:19It's hard to go from training and practicing and testing and everything and racing to nothing.
20:27But one thing I will say is you're certainly not taking the time off going to the beach
20:34because I know you're still training, still riding your bicycle and still pounding out
20:39really, really fast motos at the track.
20:41I mean, it's funny, you go to the tracks and there are a handful of top pros at any
20:49track in Southern California any day of the week.
20:52And if Tickle's there, he's most often like one of the, if not the fastest guy there.
20:58How much does that piss you off that you have all this potential?
21:02I use it as, it's something I created since this.
21:07I was using it as fuel, you know what I mean?
21:10To keep reminding myself that I still have it, you know what I mean?
21:12And it's difficult to go do it, but I'd rather go do that than be slow.
21:18I mean, if I go ride around slow, is that going to really make me feel better?
21:23Might as well just lay the hammer and try to be the best guy there that day.
21:28Like you said, there was multiple days I felt like I was the best guy there and that's just
21:33reassurance for myself that I still have it and it's not time to hang the boots up
21:36ultimately.
21:37If I was slow and not having fun doing it, then it'd be time to think of an alternate
21:44route.
21:45It kind of shows that you love dirt bikes.
21:49I mean, you're out there still riding and it's like, it'd be real easy to understand
21:53you just saying, screw this, you know, and walk away from it.
21:57I mean, I haven't rode now in like, I went back to Michigan for three or four weeks and
22:01I haven't rode in a month now, but all it takes is one more week for me to get back
22:06at it and be back up on my feet.
22:10Looking forward to maybe riding Supercross a little bit.
22:13I don't really want to ride it on my bike.
22:15I want to maybe get some help and maybe have a mechanic.
22:19Once Marshall gets here, maybe something works out where I can ride Supercross with them.
22:25So we'll see how everything pans out.
22:26I'm excited for this next three month period.
22:30Hopefully in that timeframe, find out more with my suspension and my case, but use this
22:36in the meantime for something to feed off of and honestly learn from because it's going
22:41to be a cool experience.
22:42And then I think for myself, maybe it might open my eyes for something to go that route
22:49when I'm done racing.
22:50Yeah.
22:51Yeah.
22:52Cool.
22:53All right.
22:54Well, that's it for messages from our sponsors, but when we come back, we're going to find
22:57out a little bit more about what tickles up to you.
23:54Hey, this is Rachel Straight.
23:55As a professional mountain bike racer, I know what you feel your body with is important.
24:00So I rely on RhinoPower before, during, and after my rides and workouts.
24:04I feel better, perform stronger, and recover quicker.
24:53Welcome back to SWAT Moda Live presented by OGO.
24:57I'm here with Brock Tickle.
25:00So you just told me you're going to start training a guy for East Coast Supercross.
25:04Yep.
25:05And you're going to teach him how to do certain things, but I heard you say help him with
25:09sponsors.
25:10So are you going to send him down to Mitch's office and knock on the door?
25:12No, I'll make all the initial phone calls, but the ultimate goal with that was to try
25:16to connect him with guys.
25:18You know what I mean?
25:19Me initiate the conversation and then let him take the relationship from there.
25:24You know what I mean?
25:25Yeah.
25:26Like that's important in this sport.
25:29Over the years, like if you can connect with people and become friends with them, you never
25:34know when they might need your help or if you can help them out again or later on, then
25:39obviously it's a benefit for both parties.
25:41So for me, that's the goal there.
25:44I want to help set the bike up a little bit if it needs it and I don't know, I'm kind
25:50of excited about it.
25:51It's something new for me.
25:53Obviously it's not about me now, so that's going to be something cool to learn and be
25:59part of.
26:00Cool.
26:01All right.
26:02So you are still waiting to hear your sentencing or the term of suspension.
26:06Provisionally it's four years, correct?
26:08Which is an Olympic standard.
26:10Yes, I believe so.
26:12In the past, Stu got a year and a half, right?
26:15Yep.
26:16So best case scenario, we're hoping that Brock gets one and a half years suspension and then
26:23that will allow you to return for the Nationals in 2019.
26:27Yeah, ultimately I think the compound that I got in trouble for, I've seen, you can type
26:33it in online under Wikipedia honestly and find out what each athlete got banned for
26:39and it's anywhere from eight months to 16, actually to two years about.
26:47So if I could hit the middle, that could put me in for outdoors and that would be something
26:52really cool because then I have, if I knew that now, it would make things so much better.
26:58You know what I mean?
26:59Just that wondering whether I'm going to race or not in outdoors, it kind of sucks to be
27:05honest.
27:08I had options to go to Canada.
27:10I decided not to fulfill those.
27:14I want to stay here.
27:15I feel like I have a competitive year still to do here and we'll see.
27:21I mean, I'm hoping for the best on the suspension once we get it and from there it would put
27:28a dot, an exclamation point at the end of that and it would be easy for me.
27:35One thing that's kind of kooky about the suspension is that Brock is prevented from
27:42earning any salary or money, winnings in any athletic event, whether it's even a different
27:49sport, right?
27:50I believe so.
27:51You couldn't go play golf or tennis and win money because this past Red Bull Stray Rhythm,
27:58there was like an invitation from Red Bull to do a media challenge of sorts and Brock
28:03and I were actually on a mountain bike ride together when I got the email.
28:06I said, hey, you want to race for Team Trans World at the Red Bull Stray Rhythm?
28:10We'll build you a bike.
28:11It was all systems go and then you found out in the paperwork that you were disallowed.
28:17Yeah, basically it just states that if you do collect money or race an event that you
28:23can earn money, it can affect your start date.
28:28Basically that would bring it from April, whatever Seattle Supercross was because that
28:34was my last event.
28:36It would bring it to whatever Stray Rhythm was.
28:39It's kind of hard to be like, if I was going to do that, I might as well, I should have
28:44raced Canada, exactly.
28:48Even that though, like at the time I was like, screw it, I'm going to Canada.
28:53I only had like a week until the first race so I didn't have much time either way.
28:59I think importantly, I stayed patient and I'm trying to still stay patient.
29:05Obviously it's difficult because it's hard sitting still.
29:10This racing dirt bikes is wide open and everybody knows that who's done it.
29:15When you go from wide open to stopped, it's not good.
29:19Staying busy is important and having a good support system.
29:25If you were to say, screw it, I'm racing, I'm making a living with this while I can,
29:29your only option really is Canada, correct?
29:32100%.
29:33Because everywhere else is FIM.
29:35Even the German Supercross I believe, Australia, I mean all of it.
29:40Have you ever seriously considered like, well hey, this is taking too long, it might not
29:48turn out the way I want, I'm going to go to Canada and race my ass off for three years
29:53and then retire.
29:54Did that ever come into your mind?
29:55Yeah, definitely.
29:56There was a couple of teams I've talked to and I told them where I was at, I told them
30:02I still wanted to race here and if I can do that, obviously that's what I was going to
30:06do.
30:07But if I have the option to come there, I'm willing to come if things go south.
30:12But that would be after knowing what my suspension is.
30:17So my time frame in my mind is, if it's two years or more, go to Canada.
30:25You know you could come to all 24 of the Transworld Motocross racers and just mop up, dude.
30:33So you are obviously still staying in shape, training, well rather I know that you're cycling
30:42a lot.
30:43Are you still going to the gym and working out and stuff?
30:45Yeah, obviously with the new thing starting with Marshall here soon, I've been getting
30:51a bunch of stuff together for me to have a full plan for the next three months.
30:56This whole next week, that's what my plan is, to have a three month plan.
31:00And it's going to be very broken down and basically each week is going to have its own
31:05gym program and this and that.
31:06And for myself, yes I've been going to the gym, but the stuff I've been doing in the
31:10gym is to stay in shape or just at a personal level, you know what I mean.
31:16So for me, I've just been having fun doing stuff that I've never done before or stuff
31:23that I've done in the past that I enjoyed.
31:24So I did some circuit training, which I haven't done in years and it's been fun, honestly.
31:33And then reading and learning as much as I can with the resources I have to take on this
31:39three month period is going to be fun.
31:42You know, I can't believe how well you're taking all this, the uncertainty and everything.
31:50Tickle and I are riding bikes the other day, we're climbing up Mount Baldy and I'm dying,
31:56I'm sweating.
31:57And he goes, hey, what's your heart rate?
32:00And I think it was like 160 or something.
32:02And I go, what's yours?
32:03And he goes, 96.
32:04And he goes, no, the hexamine, bro, and starts laughing.
32:10So I mean, you're joking about it, you know, how are you able to stay so mellow about all
32:17this?
32:18I'd be going nuts.
32:19I think it's just something that, I don't know, a trait that I've created throughout
32:23my life.
32:24Maybe things I've learned, my personality just in general, like I am mellow.
32:29I don't really get mad at people.
32:31And if I do, it's normally over the top.
32:33So I like to keep it, I like to think about everything before I say anything or judge
32:40the situation.
32:41You know what I mean?
32:42And for me to run around going crazy really isn't going to benefit me or bad mouthing
32:49them or whatever the case may be.
32:51So they don't know me personally.
32:53I don't know them personally.
32:54So it's kind of like, you can't really judge without seeing or talking to them.
33:01Okay, they always say that, like, you know who your true friends are in your downtime.
33:05So let's give you an opportunity right now to talk about the sponsors or your support
33:12group that stayed behind you through all this trying time.
33:15This whole time, sponsor-wise, Alpine Stars, I've been doing some testing for them for
33:23some of the new products they came out with, and we still have some more stuff to do.
33:29Other than that, I mean, I have friends.
33:32Tyler Keefe has been really helpful.
33:34Some of his mechanics helped me with my bike, changing tires, doing little stuff like that.
33:41And then, obviously, wife and family.
33:44I talk to Weimer almost every day.
33:48I mean, it's not a very big circle.
33:50You know what I mean?
33:51And this sport can create a big circle really quick when you're doing good.
33:56Whenever you're, like, in my situation, you realize who's there and who's not.
34:01Obviously, Mike at Roy's is awesome.
34:06Him and I talk, honestly, I mean, we try to talk at least once a week on the phone.
34:10So I mean, there's a group of people I trust and believe have my back for sure.
34:17Yeah.
34:18Well, I know I speak for many when we say that it all works out in your favor.
34:24I, for one, couldn't believe it when the news broke.
34:28I don't see it in your character, and you're not a guy that needs help being fit.
34:32Anyway, stay tuned to Transworld Motocross for breaking news as it happens with Brock Tickle.
34:39I'm looking forward to following your journey with this rider and your new capacity as a trainer.
34:45I'm sure you're going to be very successful in that capacity as well.
34:48Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.
34:49Thanks for coming on the show, dude.
34:50Yeah, no worries.
34:52So, thanks for watching.
