00:00It's Friday the 28th, and Team Red has just announced the RX 9070 officially,
00:05or at least I hope, because we're filming this on Tuesday.
00:08But if you think we're behind, you're wrong.
00:11Hey, Phil, we're going to eloquently segue into live news later, right?
00:15Yeah.
00:15But for now, we've got some spicy news.
00:17Missing rups, more AI frames, dual GPU builds,
00:21leaked benchmarks, and a competitor to the 4080 from from Team Red?
00:26All this and more on Meet PC's...
00:29Dang it, Phil!
00:30Sorry.
00:31Meta PC's news. Let's just get into it.
00:35It looks like the RX 9070 has been leaked in terms of benchmarks,
00:41and it looks like the XT variant is 42% faster on average than the 7900 GRE.
00:47At 4K!
00:48Phil, can you believe this? Let's take a look.
00:49Like we told you earlier this week,
00:51AMD was planning a press briefing this week for the media.
00:53The guys at Videocards.net weren't invited.
00:56Oh.
00:56Now, this is compared to the 7900 GRE.
00:59We made a video here on the channel
01:01where we did some benchmarks of the 7900 GRE and got beat up in the comments.
01:0538% on ultra settings at 1440p on an average of 30 plus games.
01:12My goodness.
01:13That's a nice boost.
01:14That's a huge boost.
01:15I mean, ultra and max on all of these tests,
01:17and it's showing anywhere from, you know, 20,
01:19depending on the on the settings and resolution and ultra settings,
01:24all the way up to 40% when you're talking about 1440p,
01:27which is a huge boost over the GRE.
01:29And there's a couple of comparisons in here of the 6900 XT.
01:33My goodness, 51% boost.
01:36Zach, so I'm not really completely, you know,
01:38fully aware of everything in Team Red.
01:40The 7900 GRE, what would that be in Team Green terms?
01:43Probably something like 4070.
01:46OK, so we're seeing like 38% faster than 4070
01:51and an average of 30 plus games at 1440p.
01:53Ish, yeah, for sure.
01:54Yeah, which is a huge boost.
01:56It's crazy.
01:57Now, availability, we've talked about availability on cards.
01:59It's a nightmare right now.
02:01Now, the real test is how many of these 9070 XTs exist in the wild
02:07and can people get today?
02:08Time will tell.
02:09Let me know what you guys are seeing around the internet,
02:10because as of the time of this recording or release, rather, the card is out now.
02:15You've got all of your favorites.
02:17My goodness, The Witcher.
02:18You've got Black Ops 6.
02:20You've got Starfield, Assassin's Creed, Cyberpunk.
02:24And it's showing crazy performance when compared to the GRE.
02:28I'm seeing about a 20% difference on the 9070 versus the XT.
02:33So that gives us a little bit of information on the 9070 as well.
02:36Sure. And I think the XT, that's really the card that people are focused on
02:39with this release.
02:40Oh, for sure.
02:40My goodness, Cyberpunk.
02:42Killin' it.
02:43What's F124?
02:44F124.
02:46Oh.
02:47F1 racing.
02:47Oh, oh, racing.
02:49I'm not a big racing guy.
02:50I like the ones where you shoot things.
02:52So as of the release date of this video, the new 9070 cards have been announced.
02:57And, you know, we recorded this on Tuesday, so I don't exactly have all of the details on them.
03:01That's fine.
03:02It's fine.
03:02We're going to talk about it.
03:06This morning, Advanced Micro Devices announced the AMD Cinematic Universe.
03:10And this could be the best launch from AMD we've seen yet.
03:13Specs for the RX 9070 and XT are available now on AMD's website.
03:17And the leaked 9070 versus 7900 GRE comparisons Zach just presented were spot on.
03:22The 9070 XT is beautifully priced at an MSRP of $599, and the specs are actually impressive.
03:28This 16 gigabyte VRAM card has a 2.97 gigahertz boost clock, 64 compute units, 128 AI accelerators, and over 1,500 tops.
03:38During the announcement, AMD VP David McAfee said that they were laser focused in every product decision
03:44to offer the best performance per dollar, which we're seeing with the 9070 XT for sure.
03:49However, the 9070 doesn't exactly meet up to its big brother's accomplishments.
03:53The 9070 has 8 less compute units, is 400 tops below the XT, and the boost clock is 500 megahertz slower.
04:01There's a pretty significant divide between the two cards.
04:03However, the 9070 is priced only $50 cheaper.
04:07We saw this before with the 7900 XT and XTX release, and AMD did lower the price once they realized they couldn't push those units.
04:14So the real question is, is AMD going to learn from the last release and maybe drop the MSRP on the 9070 before launch?
04:21Well, probably not, but hey, we can hope.
04:23We saw lots of software side announcements like FSR4 updates, Hyper RX technology for lowering latency,
04:30hardware enhancements for encoding not only with H.264, H.265, but also AV1 codecs for streaming.
04:36While they might still be behind Team Green in this area, they have made huge advancements in ray tracing.
04:41Rumors have long been that these cards have been in warehouses for months, and we did see a leaked BIOS for the date of December 13th.
04:47So we're hopeful and cautiously confident that we won't have issues with supply as we rapidly approach the March 6th release of these cards.
04:55And with all that lead time, plus the BIOS having very similar structure to the previous generation,
05:01we might be seeing the best driver-supported release from AMD so far,
05:05which will be a nice change of pace for Team Red enthusiasts given previous releases.
05:09But enough about AMD for now, I hear Zach complaining about a blackout, so let's see what he has to say.
05:17Uh-oh!
05:18What?
05:19Black screen?
05:20Where?
05:21Apparently on some NVIDIA cards, NVIDIA is responding to these complaints about black screens.
05:26This has been something that's been reported from users on 30-series cards,
05:31experiencing black screen issues all the way up to, I think, even 50-series as well, 40 and 50.
05:36So this is a widespread issue, it seems like.
05:39Well, it's like an iPhone.
05:40When the new iPhone comes out, what happens to your old one?
05:42Oh, it starts getting worse.
05:43It gets slow.
05:44But it does seem like this is maybe a driver issue.
05:47If you look at NVIDIA's forums, there are countless reports about black screen issues,
05:51new threads, or even under the last game-ready driver release.
05:54The problem is not only affecting 50-series cards, but also 40- and 30-series cards,
05:59users of which are usually advised not to install the latest drivers.
06:04For RTX 50-series owners, there are no older drivers available.
06:07So what are you going to do?
06:09Honestly, it's starting to feel like having an NVIDIA card is playing Dark Souls.
06:13Yeah, it's a bit of a side quest in and of itself, isn't it?
06:16After reading the comments on the forums, it seems that there are many solutions,
06:20but they don't seem to work for every user.
06:22And I'm guessing that's because there's so many different card generations that are being affected by this.
06:26And it might be a culmination of multiple problems, not just one.
06:29If there's one simple thing, it could be easily narrowed down.
06:33The good news is that NVIDIA has now confirmed that they're investigating these reports.
06:36However, it's unclear if it's a software issue that can be easily resolved by drivers,
06:40as it was not mentioned in the last graphics driver changelog.
06:44So there are layers to this, my friend.
06:47Yeah, Emmanuel at NVIDIA said,
06:48we're actively investigating the issue.
06:50I don't know if it'll come with a driver update or a vBIOS update.
06:53Curious how many people are actually experiencing this issue.
06:56Obviously, there's reports on the forums.
06:58Have you guys seen this on your NVIDIA cards?
07:00Let me know in the comments.
07:02I'd love to get a sample size.
07:03If you did, also let us know, are you using Windows 11 or Windows 10?
07:06It's a great question.
07:07Because it very much could be the one factor that could be the same,
07:11could be something with the OS, and not NVIDIA.
07:17NVIDIA's having a rough Q1, huh?
07:19We're getting missing...
07:21ROPs. Now, I saw this.
07:23I think it was GamersNexus.
07:24And it was first reported, I believe, was it on, was it, it was on a forum.
07:28Yesterday, NVIDIA announced that two cards may be affected by a production anomaly,
07:34which causes lower ROP specs in the final configuration.
07:38NVIDIA claimed that this can result in up to a 4% lower performance,
07:41but we've already seen cards reaching even lower performance.
07:45All the way down to 10%.
07:47Which is huge.
07:47For the amount you're paying, you should get every percent,
07:51half of a percent, tenth of a percent of the performance that you're paying for.
07:54Since this came out, we obviously look at every system that comes through our QC line
07:58to make sure this isn't an issue before it even ships.
08:01The important detail is that NVIDIA has announced two models, the 5090 and 5070 Ti,
08:05said to be affected.
08:07Only 0.5% of the cards is coming from NVIDIA.
08:10Presumably out of those already made.
08:12This is what they're saying was affected.
08:14However, based on new information from Redditor GingerRaph90...
08:19What a great name!
08:20Fantastic name.
08:21The RTX 5080 may have a similar problem,
08:24at least that's what the software GPU-Z shows.
08:28The same software that brought the problem to light in the first report by TechPowerUp.
08:32This card, screenshot here, shows 104 ROPs instead of 112.
08:38That's eight less?
08:41Yes.
08:42We're doing math.
08:43So the RTX 5090D, which is the China variant, 168 instead of 176,
08:48which is an oddly interesting eight missing ROPs.
08:52There's a theme going on here.
08:53The 5080, 104 instead of 112.
08:565070 Ti, 88 instead of 96.
08:59They're all eight!
08:59They're all eight!
09:01What's going on?
09:02As we can see, the Redditor who posted the screenshot is using the latest version of GPU-Z,
09:07and he actually went back and actually made sure that it was updated
09:11to make sure that these numbers were correct and validated.
09:14What is going on, NVIDIA?
09:15Great question to ask.
09:17You know who's not missing ROPs?
09:19Who's not missing ROPs?
09:20Meet PC...
09:21MetaPCs!
09:22MetaPCs!
09:23Guys, it's time for an ad.
09:24Listen.
09:24Custom builds, pre-builds, featuring the new 50 series cards,
09:28and we check them for missing ROPs so you don't have to.
09:32Maybe you've already got a 50 series card.
09:34Yeah.
09:34Imagine that.
09:36We happen to have the Pathfinder.
09:38These are custom-built systems that are pre-wired for 50 series cards,
09:42just waiting for you to slot that bad boy in, plug her in, and you're ready to go.
09:48Plug and play MetaPC.
09:49A pug and play?
09:51Where'd this dog come from?
09:53Guys, the MetaPCs Hyper Beast mouse mats are available now at Amazon.
09:57We've got white.
09:58We've got black.
09:58We've got the full color version.
10:00All you got to do is go to Amazon.com, type in MetaPCs Hyper Beast,
10:04or click the link in the old description section.
10:08That's the worst shirt I've ever seen in my entire life.
10:10To make it go away, go to MetaPCs.com.
10:16Hey, you know, I was wondering,
10:17do you think they're going to have any issues of ROPs
10:19being missing on the 5070 and the 5060?
10:22Boy, there's only one way to find out.
10:23If you can actually buy one.
10:26The RTX 5070 and 5060, mass production delay rumors.
10:31They'll say it ain't so.
10:33It ain't so.
10:34The media is reporting that Nvidia encountered a performance issue
10:37in its mid-range GPUs, forcing a delay.
10:39Interesting.
10:41Do you think maybe it's a lack of ROPs?
10:44It could be a ROP issue.
10:45Nvidia has already confirmed that the GeForce RTX 5070 non-Ti
10:49has been delayed until March 5th.
10:50Boy, that is just around the corner.
10:52The company originally planned to launch the Ti and the 5070 in February,
10:56but the latter SKU was delayed for undisclosed reasons,
11:00which may confirm there will be low stock at the-
11:03Gosh.
11:03Again?
11:04I can't do this anymore.
11:06You can't keep getting away with it.
11:11I'm really sorry for all the depressing news.
11:13Listen, guys.
11:14Can we get some more happy news?
11:16Yeah, actually.
11:18I know you love AI.
11:19AMD is updating Fluid Motion Frames!
11:24This is a hard day for me.
11:25AMD developed Fluid Motion Frames as a driver-level solution for frame generation.
11:29Yay!
11:30This technology is part of the AMD software HyperRX stack,
11:34designed to boost gaming performance using upscaling and frame generation.
11:38Gamers can choose to enable each technology per game.
11:41That's cool.
11:42Now, the advantage of AFMF is that it does not require game developers to integrate the technology.
11:49That's pretty cool.
11:50The downside is that it upscales and interlaces full frames,
11:52including menus and UI, which can reduce quality.
11:55Like 1080i, like from like 2005?
11:57Yeah, yeah.
11:58Are we gonna get 4Ki?
12:00Yeah, probably.
12:01Who knows?
12:02Particularly useful for older titles.
12:05I love that.
12:06You know what?
12:06I love when a company says,
12:07we're gonna make sure that we do something that lets you play your old games and make them better.
12:12Because that's part of the fun of getting a new card,
12:14is going through your library and be like,
12:16hey, you know what?
12:16I never got good frames in Batman Arkham Asylum.
12:19What am I gonna get now?
12:20So, great on AMD.
12:22It's nice that AMD is looking out for those Bat fans.
12:25Yeah, you gotta look out for the Bat fans.
12:27You know who's not?
12:27Who's not?
12:28Lydia.
12:29What?
12:32Check out this Reddit article.
12:33Oh, I love it.
12:35This guy bought a 3050.
12:36Whenever you bring up the 3050, people get angry.
12:40And I get it.
12:41It's a card that probably shouldn't really exist.
12:43Let's read this title.
12:44I bought a 3050 to pair with my 5090.
12:47Stop.
12:47That's a weird thing to say.
12:49It's a very weird thing to say.
12:50Weird thing to say.
12:51But why?
12:51To uncripple PhysX performance in older 32-bit titles.
12:55Here's the results.
12:55Let's check it out.
12:56These are banger games, by the way.
12:58Mafia II Classic.
13:00Benchmark without the 3050 and MaxX.
13:0328.8 FPS.
13:04That's not good.
13:05Boom.
13:05You got a 5090.
13:06What are we talking about here?
13:07Now, when you add in that 3050 and run it on MaxX settings, 157 FPS.
13:12Oh, my God.
13:13You brought a Batman.
13:14Batman Arkham Asylum.
13:15Another banger of a game.
13:17Benchmark without the 3050 and MaxX settings, 61 FPS.
13:20But with many of the scenes in the low 30s and 40s.
13:23That's unplayable.
13:24Unplayable.
13:24Benchmark with the 3050 in and MaxX settings, 390 FPS.
13:31All of these games seeing an incredible boost by adding that 3050 as a dedicated PhysX card.
13:36Here's my question.
13:37How would you use a card as a dedicated PhysX card if there was only a screen that we could show?
13:43Oh.
13:44In NVIDIA Control Panel, there's Surround and Physics settings.
13:47And you can dedicate a card to PhysX.
13:51And I'm guessing this is a holdover from that.
13:53And it's completely seamless.
13:56If I could only put on a tinfoil hat.
13:59Omar put a tinfoil hat on him.
14:01Is there a way?
14:02Is it on?
14:03Oh, wow.
14:03Yep.
14:04That's really cool.
14:05If I'm Jensen, I made them buy the flagship model card.
14:08And then to play their old games, they had to buy a 3050.
14:11My God, I've done it again.
14:13That's diabolical.
14:15But it's also genius.
14:16Game respect game.
14:17Listen, Jensen.
14:18The jacket just keeps getting more extreme.
14:20And it's probably going to be on the backs of selling 3050s.
14:27Some Leap specs and some Leap benchmarks.
14:309950 X3D and the 9900 X3D.
14:34Now, I'm very excited for this.
14:36These processors, we are going to be benchmarking ourselves.
14:39But it seems like a PC builder decided to get ahead of it.
14:43Bulgarian system integrator PCBuild apparently couldn't wait for the embargo.
14:47So they pulled some strings.
14:48They got the CPUs.
14:49And they also published the QR codes and serial codes on those CPUs.
14:56They doxed themselves.
14:58I don't think they're going to be getting advanced CPUs anytime soon.
15:02We thank them for their sacrifice because we have these few tests,
15:06including 3DMark CPU Profile, where you can find 1, 2, 4, 8, and 16 core configurations.
15:12We're looking at an increase in cores by 3 as you jump from the 9800 to the 9900.
15:18And by 5 if you go to the 9950.
15:20And the scores are insane.
15:22Absolutely insane when compared to even the former gaming goat, the 9800 X3D.
15:30You know what's a great thing too?
15:31This 9900 X3D has four more cores, 300 more megahertz per core,
15:40and a larger 3DV cache.
15:44And the TDP is the same.
15:45It's still only 120 watts.
15:46These are the processors to get.
15:48They are going to go like crazy.
15:50Keep an eye, metapcs.com.
15:52I know we're looking at maybe like mid-March type thing for the release.
15:55Is that kind of where I'm at?
15:56They're on March 12th.
15:5712th, okay.
15:58That's what the grapevine says.
15:59These CPUs, I sure hope there's a lot of availability because I want one.
16:04Maybe that'll pair nicely.
16:04Maybe I'll get a RX 9070.
16:06You'll go full team red.
16:08Yeah, why not?
16:09Guys, I'm hearing more and more former NVIDIA loyalists.
16:13I think the Intel loyalists have already somewhat given up,
16:16but it's on the GPU side now.
16:18Are we finally to the point where we're like,
16:20okay, I've had enough.
