00:00Turns out, we were right.
00:01NVIDIA was just waiting for AMD to announce the RX 9070 price
00:04so that they could play the same, same, but different,
00:08but still same game.
00:09Both cards just dropped, and we're gonna talk about them.
00:11NVIDIA patched the black screen issue
00:13that was plaguing gamers across the world.
00:15And if you thought that was weird,
00:17how about a gaming mouse claiming
00:19to have infinite battery life?
00:20Yeah, we're gonna talk about that on MetaPCs News,
00:23where we break down the tech headlines
00:25into tiny, pre-chewed little bird morsels
00:28so they're easier to digest.
00:29I'm Zach, your mama bird.
00:31Let's eat.
00:34The...
00:35Oh, wow.
00:35It's almost like we called this.
00:37GeForce RTX 5070 is now confirmed for a March 5th launch
00:41with the RX 9070 from Radeon arriving at the same price
00:46the next day.
00:47Sneaky, sneaky NVIDIA.
00:48Sneaky, sneaky.
00:49Radeon RX 9070 announcement was among the most discussed
00:52AMD events on videocards.net.
00:54AMD's RX 9070 non-XT will be exactly the same price
01:00as the RTX 5070 non-TI.
01:02These are cards where you're on a little bit
01:03of a tighter budget.
01:04Maybe you got a little wiggle room to go.
01:05It's meant to replace that line.
01:07So current gen coming out now.
01:09For NVIDIA fans, the choice is much simpler
01:11between the RTX 5070 and the 5070 TI.
01:14So if you're making the decision,
01:15do I go 5070?
01:16Do I go TI?
01:17It's a $200 more expensive card to go to the TI version.
01:20For AMD, the gap is so small
01:22that once you include shipping,
01:24maybe you'll think twice
01:25about whether the XT version isn't worth the extra money.
01:29$50 is $50 so much.
01:30$50, man.
01:31A lot of people are saying,
01:32okay, there's a 9070, woo, great.
01:35But the XT is really what people
01:36have their eyes on right now.
01:38Let's get to the details.
01:39I wanna talk about specs.
01:409070 versus 5070.
01:43AMD, NVIDIA, what are the differences?
01:45If you look here at the boost clock,
01:46exactly the same on both cards.
01:48Big difference on the memory.
01:49You've got 16 gigs of GDDR6 on the 9070.
01:54You have 12 gigabytes of GDDR7 on the 5070.
01:59Some slight differences in the power draw
02:01that we've mentioned before.
02:02You've got 220 watts on the max board power for the 9070.
02:05250 watts for the 5070 on NVIDIA's side of things.
02:08PCIe 5 across the board,
02:10which we already kind of revealed
02:12that that was gonna be a thing,
02:13so that checks out.
02:14Price being the same,
02:15what are the differences between these cards?
02:17What things should we weigh?
02:19One of the biggest things,
02:20and we'll get into this a little bit later
02:21in another story,
02:22is availability is a big, big, big thing.
02:26But for now, let's take a look
02:27at the differences and comparisons.
02:29I did the 9070, 5070.
02:30Let's talk about the XT and the 5070 Ti.
02:32You've got 16 gigs of GDDR6
02:34on the XT variant of the new Radeon card.
02:375070 Ti, 16 gigs, GDDR7.
02:40So on the VRAM side,
02:42different types of VRAM,
02:43amounts being the same.
02:45Also, you have slightly different power draw,
02:47a little bit more on that XT from the 9070,
02:49but all things being equal.
02:51I mean, it's kind of,
02:52it's relatively the same on the power draw.
02:54NVIDIA basically said,
02:55we want faster memory,
02:57and we'll use the software for everything else.
03:03Since they're watching this on Friday,
03:04that means the reviews are out,
03:05and we are going to go ahead
03:07and read the reviews of the 9070 and the 9070 XT.
03:10You wanna take a look?
03:11Boy, I would love to take a look at this.
03:13Check this out.
03:149070 XT and 9070 reviews are out now.
03:18Competition heats up for gamers.
03:20Competition heats up for NVIDIA.
03:22But I wanted to show you,
03:23before we get into the details,
03:24I wanted to show you some
03:25of the other designs that we have.
03:26We've got lots of great stuff
03:28coming from PowerColor,
03:29but check out this,
03:30this Yestin set.
03:31Oh, cool. I hate it.
03:32We got the second row set.
03:33Yeah, that's great.
03:34I would never,
03:35never have this in my PC,
03:36but I'm sure there's something for everybody.
03:39Look at what Yestin's done.
03:40Those are boobs.
03:41Those are,
03:43those are indeed boobs on a graphics card.
03:45Wow.
03:46Actually, you know what?
03:47I was kind of memeing on it,
03:48but will you open up that middle image
03:50there with the white crossover on the card?
03:53That kind of kicks ass.
03:54Now I think I like anime.
03:56Here's the PowerColor cards.
03:58Oh, now here's a,
03:59here's a red,
04:00super vibrant card
04:02that we're looking for.
04:02Look at what PowerColor has done here, guys.
04:05Very nice, very clean.
04:07So that Hellhound white card
04:08is kind of what you can expect on.
04:10This is a 9070 XT, yeah?
04:12Yes, sir.
04:12Oh my gosh.
04:13Beautiful.
04:14You've got your white and black variants.
04:16But let's actually now change lanes
04:18and let's talk about performance.
04:19So 4K, take a look at the 9070 XT.
04:22This is the XFX card.
04:23It's coming in at 71,
04:26almost 72 on average for FPS.
04:28You compare that to the PowerColor card,
04:30about 70.
04:31It's all relatively in the same realm.
04:33And then compared to the 9070,
04:35so you can kind of see what the difference is
04:37between these two new card releases,
04:3865 average FPS with a minimum of 55.
04:40The big comparisons here
04:42are going to be your 5070 to the 9070
04:46and the XT for that matter.
04:47Let's move on to Horizon Zero Dawn.
04:49This is where we get the real kind of shocking stuff.
04:51Because take a look at who's in number one.
04:53AMD.
04:55AMD is in number one with the XFX card at 102.
04:59Wow.
05:00Great job.
05:01Let's go to FSR and all the, you know,
05:04frame gen and stuff.
05:06Now here we're getting 287 with frame gen
05:09and FSR 4 for the 9070 XT,
05:12which is faster by 10 frames than the 5080.
05:16And when we're talking 5070 Ti,
05:18we're talking almost 60 frames.
05:20Wow.
05:20Bonkers.
05:21Dude, AMD crushed it with this.
05:23F124, the Formula One.
05:26It's a racing game.
05:27I know that now.
05:28Yeah, we're seeing a difference of only 12 FPS
05:30between the 5080.
05:31And then as we jump up to DLSS,
05:34we're seeing that 9070 XT once again trounce every card
05:38coming in at 235 FPS.
05:40So the last one in here is Cyberpunk.
05:42Which is a NVIDIA godsend of a game
05:46because it uses all the DLSS, right?
05:49We're seeing the 4080 take over the 5070 Ti Prime at 29.56.
05:54This is pure rasterization.
05:56And then on third place,
05:58we got the 9070 XT at 26 frames,
06:00only three below the 4080
06:02and only two below the 5070.
06:04Ray tracing ultra 4K.
06:07Yep.
06:08Incredible.
06:09Now let's go into the most convoluted chart I've ever seen.
06:13This is DLSS, XCSS, FSR,
06:16and we're also including one, two, three,
06:20and four times frame gen with the NVIDIA.
06:23So I think it's a little skewed towards NVIDIA
06:25because the 5080 is pulling four AI frames
06:29in between each frame to hit the 208 frames.
06:33And we are seeing the 9070 XT at 106.
06:37Still very, very impressive.
06:39Definitely.
06:40For the MSRP, and we joke that MSRP means nothing
06:42because it doesn't right now.
06:44But if you just take those numbers
06:45and you line it up,
06:46this is a great value card.
06:48Zach, they did some overclocking.
06:50Ooh.
06:51And they didn't do anything that you can't do at home
06:53with just drivers.
06:55So the PowerColor Reaper Radeon
06:57comes with the Adrenaline Edition drivers,
06:59which lets you boost that up a little bit.
07:00Oh, cool.
07:01And they didn't show us games.
07:03They show us one game and one benchmark.
07:04If we look at Assassin's Creed,
07:07we've got the 5080 rocking 106
07:09and then right underneath it.
07:11Wow.
07:12The old 9070 XT overclock trick, eh?
07:16600 bucks on one of these cards.
07:17Dude, all day long.
07:19It's a hard argument to make not to do that.
07:22You know what I mean?
07:23It's just such a good value.
07:24You're getting great performance out of it.
07:26This overclock card's performing great.
07:28I think AMD hit it out of the park with this release.
07:33It wouldn't be a $549 price comparison
07:36if we didn't take a deeper look at the RTX 5070.
07:39Now check this out.
07:39This is the Founders Edition RTX 5070.
07:42Great looking card.
07:43They did awesome on these Founders Edition cards.
07:45I'm a big fan of how they look.
07:46The big problem is,
07:47and this is gonna be a recurring theme in this segment,
07:50is availability and price.
07:52What does it all mean?
07:53NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Founders Edition
07:55has a big hole to fill.
07:57This will be the first true mainstream offering
08:00for the Blackwell RTX 50 series GPUs.
08:02It takes over from the 4070
08:04with the same $549 base MSRP.
08:08Now what does MSRP mean now?
08:10Nothing.
08:11Nothing.
08:11It means nothing.
08:12You're seeing prices all over the place.
08:14The likelihood of you getting one of those for MSRP,
08:17especially right now, is lower than ever.
08:19I would take that $549
08:22with the biggest grain of salt available.
08:24So it's got the same amount of VRAM as the 4070,
08:27this new 5070 card,
08:28but with new Blackwell features.
08:30This is gonna be the big focus of this card
08:31when people are saying,
08:32why would I get a 5070 over a 4070?
08:35It has a lot to do with some of these Blackwell features,
08:37ray tracing, a lot of this stuff.
08:39Getting a faster GPU for less money with new features
08:41should make this one of the best graphics cards,
08:43but there are some concerns.
08:44Spoiler alert, the biggest concern
08:47is availability and pricing.
08:48From what we've seen,
08:49every GPU launch in the past month
08:50sell out almost instantly.
08:52The Arc card came out, the B580, we loved it.
08:54We put in a big PO for a bunch of them.
08:57In December, we still don't have them.
08:59And a lot of people that are looking to build their own PCs
09:01are experiencing the same thing,
09:03whether it's an Arc card, Nvidia card,
09:05or even AMD right now.
09:06Where are these cards going?
09:07Cause like, do we have more gamers now?
09:09Like, are they making less?
09:10Like, why are these so scarce?
09:12If you live in tech news,
09:14like I know a lot of you guys do, I do as well.
09:16You're like, hey, how come they can't just make more?
09:18What's going on?
09:18Let me give you some data.
09:20Stay with me here.
09:20Nvidia posted record earnings of $130 billion recently
09:25on their most recent fiscal year.
09:26That is more than double of the previous earnings.
09:30So where's all this coming from?
09:32Nearly all of the games come from AI
09:34and data center business,
09:35which accounted for 88% of that revenue.
09:38So what about gaming?
09:40How much is Nvidia making on gaming?
09:42Used to be most of their revenue,
09:43but now it's a very, very distant second place
09:46at just 8.6% of total revenue.
09:50Nvidia has said it's no longer primarily a gaming company
09:53and these financials kind of spell that out.
09:55So if you're thinking, when you live in this,
09:57you're like, just make more cards.
09:58You're a gaming company for gamers.
10:00That ain't their main business or their main focus.
10:02What if a GeForce spun off into a separate company?
10:05I'd love that.
10:06So they could focus on the gamer market segment
10:10a little bit more
10:10because Nvidia itself
10:11is always gonna serve shareholders first.
10:13That's just the new-
10:14Is it gonna happen?
10:15No.
10:15Let's look at some of the benchmarks and testing.
10:18This is a 1440p rasterization set on ultra.
10:224070, you've got an average and lows here.
10:24We're gonna go with the averages of 67.5 FPS
10:28on ultra rasterization, 4040p.
10:31Now, where's our 5070 founders edition?
10:3480, touch over 80 FPS.
10:37So you do get a solid boost,
10:39but that again is pure rasterization
10:41that we're talking about here.
10:42Decent boost,
10:43but where it supposedly really shines
10:45is when it comes to ray tracing.
10:47I'm seeing improvements in some areas
10:49and really it's like RAM is really in a couple cores,
10:52but ultimately what I'm seeing
10:53is software improvements with the 50 series.
10:55We've got the 5070 founders edition
10:58coming in at nearly 70 FPS.
10:59This is the average,
11:01but the 4070, about 10 frames less.
11:04So it really does shine
11:05when it comes to some of these software-based technologies.
11:07So when you're seeing the actual specs,
11:09you're going, is this the same card?
11:13Kind of.
11:14Hey Zach, you remember the black screen issues
11:16that we had a little while back?
11:19I think that they rolled out an update.
11:21They did.
11:22They rolled out a solo update
11:24for the black screen updates,
11:25but we will assume that that fix
11:27will also be available
11:29when the 5070 is released
11:31with the drivers that would come with that card.
11:33So it should be more widely available
11:35to everybody through the official NVIDIA driver.
11:38Push through the app.
11:39Great job, NVIDIA.
11:40You're fixing the problem you made.
11:42You know who doesn't make dubious claims online?
11:45Who? I think I know.
11:46You know who actually backs up everything they say?
11:49Who could it be?
11:51I think it's a beautiful company called MetaPCs.
11:53MetaPCs!
11:54It's time for an ad.
11:56My goodness.
11:56You guys have been buying the crap out of these mouse mats.
12:00In fact, I feel like we're selling so many of them
12:03that they're raining from the sky.
12:06Jeez, that nearly killed me.
12:07Listen, the MetaPCs Hyper Beast mouse mats
12:09are available now on Amazon.
12:11All you gotta do is look up MetaPCs Hyper Beast.
12:14White, full color, black and gray.
12:17And these would look awesome with a brand new PC,
12:19which are available now at MetaPCs.com.
12:21We have ready to ship builds.
12:22We've got the 50 series cards, new AMD stuff.
12:25Listen, all you gotta do is go to MetaPCs.com,
12:27either configure a PC from the ground up
12:29or get a ready to ship build.
12:32What does ready to ship mean?
12:33It's ready to ship.
12:34You nailed it.
12:35Speaking of ready to ship PCs,
12:37I actually got a little news from a little birdie
12:39that says we're gonna have two one-off
12:41ready to ship PCs very, very soon
12:44that people should probably check the website
12:45every single day for.
12:46Do you wanna see one?
12:47I would love to see one.
12:48This is a BTF build.
12:51It is stacked with a gorgeous ASUS TUF 5080
12:57and it is made to look stunning and floaty.
13:01This case looks like a founder's edition card
13:04in and of itself.
13:05Great job, Phanteks.
13:06We love you so much.
13:07Love this build and we have some hitting the site, no?
13:10Yep, we've got one white and one black
13:12and they're gonna show up just at a random time.
13:15So you're gonna have to check every single day
13:16if you do wanna pick this up.
13:18We are not gonna be making more RTSs of this
13:20but we will have the case in stock
13:22for custom configurated builds.
13:24I love it.
13:27What about more entry-level AMD cards?
13:30So we're kind of working our way backwards
13:31as you can tell with these releases.
13:33You start 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti.
13:36What about the 9060?
13:39Well, check this out.
13:40AMD is not slowing down anytime soon
13:42because the RTX 90, excuse me.
13:44I hate that they did this.
13:45The RX 9060 from Radeon is confirmed in Q2.
13:50Not too long ago, AMD held two events
13:52for the Radeon RX 9070 series.
13:54Now at the very end,
13:56they buried a little nugget in there
13:58at the end of the presentation.
13:59And in the second quarter of this year,
14:01we'll broaden the family even further
14:03with the RX 9060 products
14:05which we'll tell you more about later.
14:07A person representing AMD confirmed
14:09that the Radeon RX 9060 series will be coming next.
14:13And here we go, gamers won't have to wait
14:15as long as they typically do
14:17for AMD to launch its next gen GPUs.
14:20The RX 90 series, 9060 series.
14:23Presumably based on the Navi 44 GPU
14:25would compete with the RTX 5060 Ti
14:29and the RTX 5060
14:30which are launching in April.
14:31So they're trying to get ahead of this NVIDIA launch
14:33by saying, look, maybe we can kick this card out
14:36a little bit sooner.
14:37One should expect sub 200 watt GPU designs
14:39and sub $400 cards.
14:42Now we're getting into the more budget range
14:44that real budget gamers are looking for.
14:46So I'm really interested in this.
14:47Perhaps AMD is gonna undercut NVIDIA once again,
14:50assuming that it will be the green team
14:53that launches the card first.
14:55Now these are all rumors, aren't they?
14:58Yeah, we got no specs on the 5060.
15:00They haven't released anything.
15:01But for right now, all we can know is,
15:03hey, we're gonna get cheaper cards
15:04and possibly more available cards.
15:06Yes, we need it.
15:10You know what?
15:10Let's get away from reality.
15:12Reality is just boring.
15:13I hate it.
15:14Let's talk about marketing reality.
15:15Oh no, I hate it even more.
15:17Angry Meow claims that this new gaming mouse
15:20offers infinite battery.
15:21What do you think about that, Zach?
15:22I think that's how.
15:23So we're claiming that there is a mouse now
15:25and this is Angry Mio, Mio?
15:28Meow.
15:28Meow.
15:29There is a mouse that could be a infinite battery.
15:33What they mean by that is instant charging,
15:351.2 seconds to charge this mouse.
15:37So very interesting.
15:38This was created and funded
15:39through a Kickstarter campaign.
15:41However, the explainer missed
15:44its advertised February 26th reveal.
15:47You gotta wait till March 10th
15:48for some of the important information.
15:50So we're gonna be coming back around to this next week.
15:52How is this an infinite battery mouse?
15:54My best guess is that that 1.2 second charge,
15:56they've got an array of capacitors
15:58that are quick charging
16:00and then those either power the mouse
16:03or they trickle charge a lithium battery.
16:05It's a cool marketing term.
16:06My hope would be, yes, you're leading with battery life,
16:09but is it a good mouse?
16:11That's what we need to know.
16:12We're gonna find out on the 10th
16:13when they release more information.
16:17Oh, this is the Radeon RX 9070 XT Nitro Plus.
16:2116 pin power connector confirmed.
16:22That is a big card.
16:24That is a big beefy card.
16:25That is a fat card.
16:26That looks like a prison fence.
16:28That does, yeah.
16:29You're not getting out of there.
16:30It's confirmed to have a single 16 pin power connector.
16:32Whoa, Phil just died.
16:34We've killed Phil.
16:36I'm allergic to good news.
16:37He's allergic to good news.
16:38We've been covering so much bad stuff here.
16:40AMD is leveraging the fact that most RX 9070 cards
16:43rely on the older standard as a selling point,
16:44especially given the recent reports
16:46of overheating connectors on the 5090 cards.
16:48Clearly some board partners are tired
16:50of using a triple eight pin layout on their cards.
16:53Competition is strong for the most attractive
16:54and easiest to set up GPU designs.
16:57Hence a single freaking connector.
16:59Now, what I love about this,
17:00and you can see this in this image here,
17:01and this is so intuitive, it makes so much sense.
17:04Thank you, Sapphire.
17:05You can actually hide your power connectors
17:07and all the cables coming to your graphics card
17:09through this little shroud.
17:10Look at this.
17:11It's a magnetic shroud.
17:12So it literally just snaps right on.
17:14Why do we have to wait for AMD to come up with this?
17:17Like this is a beautiful design.
17:18We could have been doing this all along
17:20and said we've had our power connectors
17:21sitting out in the front facing us.
17:23This is a great design idea.
17:24And of course, AMD, they're scrappy right now.
17:27They want to win on the GPU side.
17:29And things like this, I think,
17:30really do add a lot of value to people
17:32that value how their system looks
17:34on the cosmetic side.
17:36Ladies and gentlemen,
17:37that's going to do it for the news today.
17:38Thank you so much for watching.
17:40Now, I have a few things that I have to remind you of.
17:42Otherwise, I'll get in huge trouble.
17:44You need to hit subscribe
17:45because I've noticed many of you are not subscribed,
17:47which really hurts my feelings.
17:50And make sure you hit like on the video too.
17:52Maybe leave a little comment.
17:53Tell me where you're commenting from.
17:56We got people all over the place.
17:57I went to Micro Center in Texas last week.
17:59Guy came up, he's like,
18:00hey man, sorry I'm not subscribed.
18:04And I made him pull out his phone
18:05and subscribe right on the spot.
18:07And I'm going to come to your house
18:08and do the same thing if you don't do it.
18:09Okay?
18:10We're watching you.
18:11I see you.
