00:00Hi there and welcome to the latest update from the Met Office. A much sunnier day today
00:05compared with the last couple of days. Certainly that sunshine prevalent across Scotland, Northern
00:12and Eastern England, the Midlands and Wales first thing, a bit more cloud remaining for
00:15Northern Ireland. A widespread frost where we've had clear skies overnight but soon warming
00:19up because of the strong March sunshine. Although we'll see a bit more of a breeze at the same
00:25time compared with yesterday and that means it's going to feel cold where we've got that
00:30breeze, especially in the south and the east. But where we've got the sunshine out of the
00:35breeze feeling pleasant enough, temperatures are a degree or two higher compared with the
00:39same time yesterday. We'll keep the clear skies overnight. In fact, Northern Ireland
00:44eventually sees the cloud clear as well. A bit more cloud remaining for the Northern
00:47Isles but for the vast majority under those clear skies, one or two mist and fog patches
00:52will form and another widespread frost is expected. Away from southern counties where
00:56we keep a breeze and temperatures in the mid-single figures, I think for the northern two-thirds
01:01of the UK, widely temperatures will dip below freezing in some places, several degrees below
01:06freezing. Nevertheless, over the next few days, we're going to see more of a southerly
01:10airflow and that's going to import warmer air. So, temperatures will gradually rise
01:15but we'll also see this area of low pressure that's lingering across Portugal at the time
01:22being, but it's eventually going to bring some more unsettled weather to the west and
01:26south-west of the UK. The first signs of that there on Wednesday morning, across Cornwall
01:30a bit more cloud in the sky, a few passing showers, but for the vast majority, Wednesday's
01:35another sunny day and temperatures are responding well to those southerly winds, 14 or 15 Celsius.
01:41Even warmer on Thursday and Friday but with a bit more cloud and further showers arriving
01:46into the weekend.
