Wednesday morning starts off sunny in the UK, although many places in the north will wake up to frost. As the morning progresses the frost soon melts away and temperatures will quickly rise. The sunshine and blue skies will persist into the afternoon for most but some cloud cover will develop in the southwest. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 19/03/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Tom Morgan.

00:00Good morning. If it's warm weather you're after, then it's good news. Temperatures are
00:03set to rise over the next few days and it's all thanks to a southerly breeze starting
00:08to develop. We've had easterly winds over the last few days, bringing that chilly weather
00:12from the east, but it's set to change as we see low pressure out towards the southwest
00:17drawing this warm southerly flow as we go into Thursday and Friday. So temperatures
00:21are set to rise to above average nationwide. But it's a very different story out there
00:26this morning. It's very cold and we've got plenty of frost, particularly across more
00:30northern parts of the UK. Those temperatures will rise fairly quickly in that spring sunshine
00:35and it's set to be a pretty glorious day out there for the vast majority of us. A bit more
00:39in the way of patchy and wispy high cloud coming in across England and Wales through
00:43this afternoon. I wouldn't even rule out a very isolated light shower, but the vast majority
00:48of us will have a fine and dry afternoon and temperatures will be higher than they have
00:52been of late. So we'll have lost that chilly easterly breeze, winds will be light and temperatures
00:57of 16 or perhaps even 17 degrees will feel much more pleasant than it has done of late.
01:03And even in the north, temperatures widely in double figures for Scotland and Northern
01:06Ireland too. But because of those clear skies, particularly in the north of the UK through
01:11tonight, temperatures will really fall away very quickly and we will see another widespread
01:16frost developing, particularly in the north of the UK through the course of tonight. Perhaps
01:20even one or two very isolated fog or freezing fog patches in places as well. A bit more
01:26in the way of cloud across the south and that will just mean that we probably won't see
01:29too much in the way of frost in southern parts of Britain overnight tonight, though still
01:34perhaps the odd patch of frost in the countryside. But certainly in the north, temperatures down
01:38to minus four or minus five quite easily in rural areas once again. So tomorrow gets off
01:44to a fairly cold note once again across more northern parts, but plenty of sunshine once
01:49again for most parts of the UK tomorrow. We are going to see those temperatures quite
01:53quickly rise in that spring sunshine as well. So by the afternoon, we could be seeing highs
01:58in the mid to high teens quite widely. So a much warmer feeling day nationwide, 13 or
02:0414 degrees across the north is well above average. And we might even squeak out a 20
02:09degrees Celsius in parts of England and Wales. So a much warmer day to come. But to find
02:15out whether this warm spell is set to continue on Friday and into the weekend, you'll want
02:19to make sure you're following us on our social media channels. But for now, that's everything
02:23from me. I'll see you again soon.
