00:00This is what I think is sort of the question today, and yes, Steve Kerr at 5 o'clock, and until then, it's all you.
00:08It's all you. 888-957-9570.
00:12And what I keep hearing is the idea, at least, or some facsimile of, of how the Warriors were supposed to be ready for this.
00:22And I understand that none of you would sort of say it that way, but that's what it sounds like a lot of people want to get into.
00:31They want to get into how this player doesn't look right, and that player doesn't look right.
00:35And this one over here is now unplayable, and that one over there is a choke job, and why the hell does Steve Kerr keep putting them in the game?
00:44Well, it's largely because they have uniforms, and next to nobody over there is going to save the day.
00:53And so, again, my mind goes to, if we had thrown this scenario out to any of you in March, you would have all said the same thing.
01:08In March, hey, they're going to make the playoffs, then they're going to go to the second round, then they won't have Steph.
01:15What happens next? Fill in the blank.
01:18Oh, they're in trouble.
01:19You all would have said the same thing. They're done.
01:21They're done, but then you get there, and you arrive, and we are so, gosh, we damn, we love this so much.
01:30We're so addicted to this.
01:32We want it so bad. It's so fun.
01:35Man, that Rocket series was so fun.
01:39Man, when you wake up, how many minutes into the day when you open your eyes, and it's a Warrior playoff game that night,
01:46how many minutes into the day before you go, it's a Warrior playoff game tonight?
01:51Yeah, four hours and 41 minutes from now.
01:53Dude.
01:54Four hours and 12 minutes.
01:55Sometimes I open my eyes.
01:57I open my eyes, and the sentences go, number one, what time is it?
02:03Number two, is there still money in the account?
02:06And number three, ooh, there's a game tonight.
02:09Yep.
02:09Like, 30 seconds.
02:12We love this stuff so much, and I get it.
02:14We don't want it to go away.
02:16But, like, we got to be fair.
02:19The players don't look right, because the whole system is gone.
02:25The whole system's gone, and you can disagree with it, but I would firmly support, let's go back in time.
02:34Would you do it this way if you had a chance to do it all over?
02:38In other words, would you push all your chips into the middle of the table for a 37-year-old
02:45and say, let's go for it one more time, let's not worry about the right role players,
02:52let's not worry about development of that player or this player.
02:56We're all in on Ring 5, Steph Curry.
03:01Would you do it again if you had to do it all over again?
03:05Absolutely.
03:06Well, what's the alternative?
03:07The alternative is you tear it apart now, and you send Steph and Draymond elsewhere,
03:13and you start the rebuild two years ahead of when you otherwise would start the rebuild.
03:17For me, there was really no choice.
03:19You were going to go all in for a guy who delivered you four titles and his running mate who gave you four titles
03:25and an organization that was bought for about $450 million and is now worth $8 billion or whatever it's worth,
03:32and going up, there really was no decision.
03:34It all came down to how do you go about doing it?
03:37You brought in a guy who fit and who worked, and you went on a run.
03:41You won a first-round series as a seven, which doesn't happen very often, and I have that list in front of me.
03:47I can bore you with it later.
03:49And then you got into a series that was very winnable, and you lost your greatest player 13 minutes into it.
03:55You still won that game, and the thing that is a little bit frustrating to me and maddening,
04:01and I'm not pointing fingers because I understand what you're saying and the reality of it,
04:04but game three threw it all.
04:07No Steph.
04:08That was winnable.
04:09And last night, through the first half, I thought they played a great first half,
04:13and they should have been up eight or maybe ten.
04:16You were up two, and I thought, okay, you're up two.
04:19Jimmy rested a little bit in the second quarter.
04:21You've got real action at home, and then that third quarter happened, and you're down 20,
04:26and it was like, I won't even say what I said because I was getting dirty looks from the miss,
04:30and she's like, will you calm down?
04:32And I said, no, not from you.
04:35He's doing my steiny.
04:36The way that thing devolved in the third quarter, it was just frustrating.
04:41And I get what you're saying, and you're not wrong.
04:43Of course it's frustrating.
04:44But it's just so tantalizing because game three was there.
04:49Game four was going to be tough, but game four, I mean,
04:51you played well enough through two quarters to maybe win it.
04:54Every time your favorite team doesn't win, there are multiple ways for it to go down,
05:00and some are more frustrating than others.
05:03And so I wonder, like, how do you fit this one into the bucket?
05:07Because sometimes you have to sit with, oh, you weren't good enough.
05:11You got beat by a better team.
05:14The Warriors don't have to sit with that, but maybe this is more frustrating
05:18because I get it.
05:20It feels like something was taken from us.
05:23How many times have I used that phrase, and you hate it,
05:26but when we sat down, and I mean sat down, we made food,
05:33we invited people because we, the Bay Area,
05:38we were getting ready to go to the Super Bowl that day.
05:42Oh, boy.
05:42We were earning our way to the Super Bowl.
05:45And on the opening drive, the quarterback's arm split in half.
05:51What?
05:52So what's more frustrating?
05:55Do you walk away going, ooh, we got beat by a better team,
06:01or do you feel like an experience totally got robbed from you
06:05and you never even really had a chance to try?
06:08Because that's how I feel.
06:10And I know some of you don't agree with that.
06:12And I know some of you want Steve Kerr to have a rabbit in the back pocket.
06:16I know.
06:17Let's do it.
06:17Let's talk about Steve Kerr.
06:19He's coming on the show in two and a half hours.
06:21Let's talk about Steve Kerr.
06:23When you finish your call, tell me the coach that could coach this roster to a damn thing in the month of May.
06:29Mike Brown is what I got on Twitter.
06:31I know.
06:32Mike Brown.
06:32I love Mike Brown.
06:33I love Mike Brown.
06:34Yeah.
06:34Mike Brown's not coaching this group to a second round win.
06:38Even beyond who you want to coach?
06:39For me, you just said it.
06:40Like, what's the rabbit?
06:42So he's going to pull a rabbit out of his hat.
06:44What's that rabbit?
06:45And is it, you know, and somebody earlier in this building was like, they need to play that guy with the mustache.
06:52And I won't say which salesperson said that, but I was cracking up because I said, you are exactly representative of the fan base.
07:00It's like, you need to play that guy with the mustache.
07:03Number 61.
07:04I don't, there's nobody.
07:06This is professional sports.
07:07So nobody gets a free ride.
07:11Guess what?
07:12You ready?
07:12See, I twice, both halves, both halves, I'm watching the game.
07:18I'm going, damn, it feels like we're waiting a little long for Kaminga's entrance.
07:24Just in a vacuum, in the spot the Warriors are currently in, I felt that way.
07:31So if you want to criticize Steve Kerr for not giving, even though he played 30 minutes, I thought he could have played more.
07:38I'll agree with you.
07:39I thought in this moment, in the scenario that we currently have, sure.
07:45And Jonathan is one of the few people on the Warriors who right now is showing flashes of playing really well.
07:52He had another great first half last night.
07:54Second half, not so much.
07:55Game got totally sideways and out of control.
07:58I wonder if the third quarter helped everybody through there.
08:01Minnesota's actually not that good take.
08:04They are.
08:04I'm sorry.
08:05Well, the whole game.
08:06I mean, when you look at Julius Randle and he has just had the wetter going and he's knocking down threes and then he's posting up and he's beating every single Warrior defender.
08:15And then Anthony Edwards was like, oh, is it my turn?
08:19Is it my turn now?
08:20That guy is.
08:21He's the dude.
08:22Yeah.
08:22That's the dude.
08:23I mean, I'm not going to root for him until this series is over, but watching him play, it's hard to not have an appreciation for the fluidity of the jumper, the effortlessness with which he is able to get any bucket at any time.
08:39He is phenomenal.
08:39I'll sit here and say it out loud right now that if the Warriors lose tomorrow night, I hope Minnesota gets the ring.
08:44Oh, no doubt.
08:45I absolutely hope for that.
08:46That is easily, easily to me, the most fun team to watch that's remaining in the group.
08:52You know what I, you want to know what I love about Anthony Edwards?
08:57Do you want to know what I love about this player?
09:00He has no Shea Gilgis in him.
09:04No James Harden in him.
09:06No Jokic in him.
09:07Say it.
09:08No Luka in him.
09:09Keep going.
09:10No LeBron in him.
09:11Keep going.
09:11No Jimmy Butler in him.
09:13Keep going.
09:13Brandon Pajemski.
09:15Well, Brandon Pajemski is not on that list.
09:17No, but he, what you're alluding to is what Pods does.
09:20Absolutely.
09:21Anthony just beats you.
09:24He actually beats you.
