00:00The High Court has allowed former Prime Minister Najib Razak to pay his last respects to his predecessor Abdullah Ahmad Madawi amid his ongoing 1MDB trial.
00:12The court adjourned the trial at around 9.50am to allow Najib to make his way to the National Mosque where Abdullah's remains are being held.
00:21Earlier, Najib's counsel, Shafi Abdullah, informed Justice Colin Lawrence-Sakira that the prison's department had granted Najib permission to pay his last respects to Abdullah who is fondly known as Patlah.
00:36According to the Prime Minister's department, the lying-in state will take place at the mosque's main prayer hall from 11am to 1pm.
00:45Abdullah passed away at the National Heart Institute at 7.10pm last night.
00:50He was 85.
