00:07with the official launch of its 30th facility, KPJ Kuala Selangor Specialist Hospital.

00:13Officiating the launch of the hospital, Health Minister Zulkifli Ahmad said the hospital will

00:19address the growing healthcare demands of the district's burgeoning population, now nearing 300,000.

00:25This new hospital will have to fill a crucial gap. It ensures that residents no longer have to travel

00:34long distances to access specialist care because our vision is simple. Healthcare must go to the

00:43people, not the other way around. The drive to bring specialist care closer to the community

00:50is also what motivated the initiative to set up the KPJ-KS, according to KPJ Healthcare's President

00:57and Managing Director, Chin Kiet Chuan.

01:00It has been a long-standing issue where we always hear people have to travel because

01:05in the radius of 30 to 35 kilometers, right, from Puncak Alam, you're talking about all the way to

01:10Danjung Karang, to Skinjang, to Sabah Benam. And for us, we understand that there are certain

01:15conditions of the patient, it might not be feasible to do that. And that's why KPJ, Kenapa Bergi Jau,

01:21right? We are here closer to home for you.

01:24Chin added that KPJ-KS will provide a comprehensive suite of specialist services ranging from general

01:31surgery and pediatrics to obstetrics and gynaecology, radiology and more. The hospital will also be equipped

01:39with advanced medical technology, including a 1.5 Tesla MRI system, a 160-slice CT scanner, and a super

01:48inductive system for non-invasive pain management therapy. Zulkifli added that the facility isn't meant

01:55to compete with existing public hospitals, but to complement them.

01:58The launch also marks another milestone in KPJ Healthcare's strategic journey under the

02:13KPJ Healthcare System, an integrated framework introduced last year to unite clinical care,

02:19medical education, and research excellence across its nationwide network.
