00:00So what are we doing here today? We're just doing a patch repair. This can conventionally be done by using hand tools and the new machine allows us to increase productivity.
00:12This job would usually take about four days to complete this whole area and we should be doing it in a day today.
00:17So that's the new machine which we've just purchased, about £150,000 worth of equipment.
00:21The other advantage of the machine is that it's been designed to do the maintenance on the walkways and also the cycleways which have been installed as part of the network in the West Midlands.
00:31So we're talking about the fact that the multi-hull is not just something that deals with potholes and roadworks, it can also be changed to be put in the university.
00:39It's a bit like a Thunderbird of machines, it's got hedge cutters on, it can do scraping and brushing of the road surfaces, it also can be used as a gritter.
00:49So it is a multi-purpose machine and that's why we're attracted to it more than the larger machines which are more dedicated large section works which we haven't got the time for.
