00:00OK Aaron, so you're the manager here at Pen Street Garage in Wolverhampton.
00:05Just explain the situation with flat tyres and things regarding potholes at the moment.
00:11Well, obviously with the current road conditions at the moment we've seen an increase in people
00:15coming in for repairs, not just obviously flat tyres but suspension based work, but
00:21due to the fact a lot of customers and consumers don't realise this until the MOTs roll round
00:27that they're actually driving an unsafe vehicle.
00:30So it's down to us to obviously carry out the repairs, but again with the current road
00:35conditions we've noticed an increase in suspension and tyre and wheel damages, so yeah it has
00:42picked up easily over the last couple of years.
00:45How much of an increase would you say it's been?
00:47I'd say at least about 30%, 30-40% in our current trade due to potholes, poor road conditions,
00:57potholes and pretty much anything due or down to the road conditions that are causing these
01:04issues on vehicles.
01:05What advice would you give to drivers?
01:08I'd say basically get the car checked more sooner rather than later, don't wait for your
01:15MOTs, if there's something you're not sure on the vehicle, ring your local garage, get
01:21it checked for peace of mind and safety at the end of the day, wait until your next MOT
01:28rolls round can implement you driving an unsafe vehicle for a long time and just to be on
01:36the safe side.
01:38You just want to make sure that you, your passengers are in a safe vehicle, no harm
01:45in being safe than sorry really.
