00:00We're here today because I'm celebrating my 500th volunteer milestone for Park Run.
00:05I've been here from day one, so Park Run's just over 12 years, but I started about six
00:10months before that, just helping set up with Chris Richards, so a long time.
00:15I always love Park Run and just the whole atmosphere and the fact that it's so inclusive.
00:19You get little kids that are like four or five, right up to the other end of the spectrum
00:24where people are recovering from operations and all sorts.
00:27I'm terrified, if I'm honest, if I'm brutally honest.
00:29I'm not one for a fuss or anything really, but I've been told I've got to embrace it
00:34and enjoy it, so that's what I'm trying to do.
00:37The first I knew about it was last Saturday when a post went out on our official Facebook
00:41page that I believe my son was behind, and that is the first I knew about it, because
00:46I'd said to them beforehand, we'll keep it low key.
00:49I'll go off to my little corner, which is normally where I always marshal, so I wouldn't
00:53hear anything, because all the shout outs are done just before it starts, so I'd have
00:57been, yeah, a million miles away and not known.
01:01I'm really proud, more proud of Park Run in itself than what we've got in our little community,
01:05because we get tourists that come and they say it's one of their favourite Park Runs,
01:09because people are so friendly and welcoming, and the park's lovely.
01:13We are here to celebrate Kim and her amazing contribution to the work that you do on the
01:19Park Run.
01:20500 individual sessions, I understand, and from what I hear, the Park Run just would
01:26not run without Kim, so it's fantastic, and thank you so much for volunteering.
01:31If you consider how many thousands of people would have gone through a Park Run over those
01:35500 sessions, it's pretty amazing.
01:37So I've got a small gift to present to you.
