00:24The Philippine government has successfully rescued and repatriated

00:28176 Filipinos who fell victim to human trafficking in Myanmar Malacanang assures that President Ferdinand R. Marcos jr.'s

00:35Administration is committed to providing assistance to these survivors who were exploited in supposed scam hubs

00:41The palace stress that this effort reflects the chief executive's commitment to prioritize the safety and welfare of Filipinos

00:48It also urged aspiring overseas workers to follow legal channels to avoid falling into the same trap

00:54Reports show that the victims suffered physical abuse and punishment from their employers whenever they failed to meet their demands

01:01The government is committed to providing assistance to these survivors who were exploited in supposed scam hubs

01:06We have a POEA to provide them with security and to ensure that they will be safe

01:15So aside from what the government will do, we are committed to providing assistance to our fellow Filipinos

01:21The administration reassures the public that rescue operations will continue if necessary

01:26Malacanang is also promoting local job opportunities to reduce the need for Filipinos to seek work abroad

01:32In an effort to prevent being separated from their families just to eke out a living

01:37We are into projects giving more jobs to the Filipinos

01:41So with this I hope that they can rely on that

01:45They can have these jobs that will match their capacities and skills

01:51Meanwhile, President Marcos has also ordered the deployment of over a hundred government personnel

01:56to aid rescue efforts in Myanmar following a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake

02:01Malacanang emphasized the importance of helping neighboring countries in times of crisis

02:06The Philippine team will include medical workers, urban search and rescue experts, and members of the armed forces

02:12The resources will be mobilized so that we can help our neighbors

02:17Tomorrow is the tentative travel date for deployment

02:21so that the Philippines can help our fellow Filipinos

02:25and the citizens here in the neighboring countries

02:30As part of disaster preparedness, Malacanang calls on local governments to regularly conduct earthquake and fire drills

02:36and inspect buildings for structural safety
