00:16My name is Ayomidi Shuzbo and this is The Nutmeg.
00:20Mission Kigali got done on Friday thanks to the clinic from Victor Osemen as of course
00:25the Superegos will now return to their base at the Gosfield Aquavio Stadium in Onoio to
00:29take on the Warriors of Zimbabwe.
00:31Here's our preview of that game.
00:33My name is Ayomidi Shuzbo and this is The Nutmeg on Guardian TV.
00:42We need to be focused on the second game.
00:44It's the most important now.
00:48I'm proud of my players, what they do in Rwanda.
00:52It was very difficult but they made the job.
00:58So we worked yesterday, we made a good training session.
01:06So we need to go again to the pitch to prepare the game tomorrow.
01:13It will be not easy because Zimbabwe have a good team with good players, with good coaches.
01:25This coach has a good game project.
01:30So we need to be focused on our team and do the job tomorrow.
01:36Thankfully we have a lot of intelligent players, a lot of players that play at a high level.
01:41They will be used to changing tactics, maybe different coaches.
01:44So it's just adapting and I think the coach has said it before as well.
01:49We have a lot of quality in our team so it's not trying to explain to players how they
01:52need to play football.
01:54It's more about trying to get everyone playing in harmony and understanding of the bigger
01:59picture, the bigger idea.
02:01And I think we saw that in the last game.
02:03But now that's all done, that's in the past and we have to show that again tomorrow in
02:07the next game.
02:14Right, so I've got David Messier joining us on this edition of the Notmeg.
02:19David, how did you see the performance against Rwandans?
02:23Two-nil, it ended.
02:24It was a great one.
02:25But I think kudos must go to Eric for helping Nigeria to get their first win after a frustrating
02:32run of five on winless games.
02:34But I know it's not yet there but it's the right way to start the whole thing.
02:39But the next game is going to be a difficult one.
02:41They got the job done, playing that diamond system formation so it really helped the team.
02:46Like you said, this game against Zimbabwe does feel like one that the Eagles should
02:51not take lightly.
02:52Remember they played a draw against Zimbabwe last year, now they're returning to Nigeria
02:57and there is a tendency to be complacent.
02:59So what must they do to get all three points?
03:02Because it's definitely all three points that is needed or nothing.
03:05Everybody knows now, any little slip-up we're out of the race.
03:08So the player must come to her face and do the right thing.
03:12Because Zimbabwe is not going to be a stroll in the park.
03:14They're going to come here fighting.
03:16But I'm happy now that we have a super-Eagle weapon of mass destruction in charge now,
03:22Ousime.
03:23We shouldn't have any problem.
03:24I used to tell people, I said, the net looks like a house to me.
03:27Like everybody used to say.
03:28So when he sees the net, he wants to get the goal.
03:30So I'm confident we're going to get three points.
03:31But it won't come so easily.
03:32We shouldn't be complacent.
03:33It's going to be tough but we'll get the job done.
03:36It may not be more than one or two goals but we'll get the job done.
03:39Alright, let's get talking about Eric Chiel.
03:41What impression did you make of him after the game?
03:44Now even in the game and after, because now we understand that there's not so much media
03:50activity.
03:51It's demanded so much focus from the players.
03:54No visitors, no media activity.
03:57What's your take on that?
03:58And I think I belong to the school of thought who never supported his appointment in the
04:01first place.
04:02But then I must give kudos to him.
04:03We were able to get that first win.
04:05But then it's not yet Uhuru.
04:06It was too early for us to begin to judge his tactical savvy.
04:09He did the right thing with the 4-4-2 and he brought in the right players at the right
04:12time.
04:13Prediction is what matters most.
04:14And this player did get the job done.
04:16But I think, talking about Chiel, he has what it takes to get his job done.
04:21Because he has the kind of embarrassment of stars to pick from.
04:24So if he doesn't get the result, he's not going to stay long as Super Rugby Group manager.
04:28But I think he should do the right thing, get his job done and put his head on the ground.
04:32Talk to the player, let them know why they need to qualify for the World Cup after missing
04:36the last one and they will get the job done.
04:38Alright, talking about getting the job done, what do you see that match ending as in terms
04:41of the prediction?
04:42Prediction?
04:43I'm not a good predictor of football.
04:44But I think it should go 2-0.
04:452-0?
04:462-0 should be okay.
04:47Weapon of mass destruction again?
04:49And we'll see me over there.
04:50The weapon of mass destruction.
04:51Once it's there, you can be really sure you'll get the job done.
04:54You'll get three goals.
04:55Lukman didn't get his own.
04:56I'm sure he's going to get one this time around.
04:58Alright, thank you very much, David.
04:59And that is the full compliment of the show today.
