00:00The recent 50% telecoms tariff hike has hit Nigerians so hard, making calls and data more
00:06expensive.
00:07To hear how this affects everyday people, we went out to hear their thoughts and here's
00:12what they had to say.
00:13Actually, I'm not comfortable with it because when I load my head time trying to do data,
00:20data doesn't last anymore.
00:21I thought it affected our usage because now we are not buying data, not just at 100%,
00:27but should I say 200% the normal price?
00:31The inconvenience is too much and the tariff is unbearable.
00:37That does it.
00:38Extremely unbearable.
00:39The increase has been so, so bad, like I'll subscribe for, like, I'll do a package for
00:46seven days and it doesn't even last for two days.
00:48That's been so bad, affecting my business, I can't even, like, and the network is always
00:54bad.
00:55I think it's a general issue, not something peculiar to me alone.
00:58The increase in data costs is so bad.
01:01The data doesn't last.
01:02How can one be doing, how can one be doing one month subscription and just last for two
01:08weeks?
01:09I don't really like it at all.
01:10Like, it's not, it's not that convenient to me before, like, it doesn't last many longer.
01:15When I buy, like, a weekly data bundle, I can't use it for a whole week.
01:19It barely lasts for, like, two days and it makes me use data less and I have things to
01:27do in school with data, with internet, I have things to do at work with internet, and the
01:32whole data increase has made it impossible, sometimes very, very hard, and it's affecting
01:38my living as well, like, you know, cost of living and the rest.
01:44It is obvious Nigerians are feeling the strain of higher telecom costs, but the question
01:48remains, will anything change?
01:51We will be watching.
01:53Stay tuned for more updates.
