During a State Department press briefing, Spokesperson Tammy Bruce was asked if the Trump Administration would invest more political capital into achieving a new ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

00:00Sir.
00:01QUESTIONS, SAMMY.
00:02A couple of questions.
00:03Number one, on the Israel-Hamas unraveling of the ceasefire.
00:05I understand the U.S.' position.
00:07What about the actual plan?
00:09The first time around, there was an immense political investment made in garnering a ceasefire.
00:15Is the U.S. planning through the State Department again to invest that much political capital
00:20in getting a ceasefire back in place?
00:22And if so, is the route the first time β as the first time to pressure Prime Minister
00:27Netanyahu?
00:28Is it now to pressure Qatar to lean on Hamas?
00:31What is the plan of action here?
00:32Well, first, I'm not going to discuss negotiations or diplomatic conversations or plans that
00:38might be emerging or not.
00:39What we do know, and I think has been very public, is the fact that President Trump is
00:44not just wanting a peaceful day or a peaceful week.
00:48Secretary Rubio is not flying around to speak with his counterparts, to handle summits,
00:54and speaking with the parties involved so that we can have a peaceful fortnight.
01:00This is over.
01:02It is over.
01:04All of us are subjected, certainly not as much as the people on the ground in the Middle
01:07East, but the world has to be done with this situation.
01:12So the commitment we would, with the nature of what President Trump has already been able
01:17to create in his first term, in his personal life, the nature of the commitment of Secretary
01:22Rubio, that we have got an understanding of what β enough of a history of knowing
01:28what has happened, that we know it has to be handled differently.
01:31The region understands this, and the Trump administration is β we have this window
01:36of this administration to change the trajectory of what has been decades and decades, coming
01:44up on 100 years of carnage that is now unacceptable.
01:49So if it's going to be done, everything that is necessary to get it done will be delivered
01:55by President Trump.
