00:00On the FBI, the president also announced a new deputy director of the FBI, Dan Bongino.
00:07From what has been reported, and maybe this is not accurate reporting, you can tell me,
00:12the FBI director Kash Patel informed Republican senators that it would be an individual named
00:19as the deputy who is a special agent currently at the FBI, and of course Mr. Bongino is not.
00:26What was the reason for naming Mr. Bongino to this position, and was Mr. Patel not correct
00:33in making that assurance to those senators?
00:36I'm not sure if anybody in this room has listened to Mr. Bongino when he talks about the past
00:41corruption at the FBI, when he talks about his experience serving for the United States
00:46Secret Service.
00:47This is a man who loves his country and who has honorably served our country in ways that
00:52many people have not.
00:53He understands the depth of the corruption at these institutions, which the American
00:57people re-elected President Trump to shake up, and I think it's quite despicable to see
01:02many networks in this room who have had chyrons on their television screens labeling Mr. Bongino
01:08as a far-right podcaster.
01:10He is not.
01:11He is a former law enforcement agent.
01:15He is a former Secret Service agent who put his life on the line to protect this country,
01:19and that is why the president of the United States has entrusted him for this important
01:22role.
01:23He is also an outsider to this Washington swamp, and we often see that when outsiders
01:27are appointed to such coveted positions, a lot of people in this city get very, very
01:32nervous, and they should be because Dan Bongino and Cash Patel and Attorney General Bondi
01:36are focused on rooting out the corruption at these agencies and ending the weaponization
01:41of government once and for all.
01:42John.
01:43Caroline, Caroline.
01:44John.
01:45Thanks a lot.
01:46Thanks a lot, Caroline.
01:47Since your last briefing, there have been some personnel moves that have been announced
01:50by the president, and I wanted to ask you about them.
01:53One was the president replacing the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General C.Q.
01:58Brown, Jr.
01:59What was the reason for the president naming a replacement for General Brown?
02:04And then I'll follow up with another personnel announcement that's been made over the last
02:08few days.
02:09He thinks he's doing a bad job, and it's time for a shakeup at the Pentagon.
02:12They failed seven audits in a row.
02:14The trust in our United States military amongst the warfighters is low.
02:18The president is shaking up the Pentagon and the Department of Defense, of course,
02:22with Secretary Hegseth leading, and he has the right to do that.
02:25It's actually quite common from administration to administration to do such a thing.
02:29The president, when he swore him in as the chief of staff for the Air Force, called him
02:35a great man and a great gentleman.
02:37Does he distance himself from the remarks that he made back in August of 2020?
02:41I think replacing him speaks for itself.
02:43James.
02:44There's one other one.
02:45I'm sorry.
02:47On the FBI, the president also announced a new deputy director of the FBI, Dan Bongino.
02:54From what has been reported, and maybe this is not accurate reporting, you can tell me,
02:59the FBI director, Kash Patel, informed Republican senators that it would be an individual named
03:06as the deputy who is a special agent currently at the FBI, and, of course, Mr. Bongino is
03:12not.
03:13Is there a reason for naming Mr. Bongino to this position, and was Mr. Patel not correct
03:20in making that assurance to those senators?
03:23I'm not sure if anybody in this room has listened to Mr. Bongino when he talks about the past
03:28corruption at the FBI, when he talks about his experience serving for the United States
03:33Secret Service.
03:34This is a man who loves his country and who has honorably served our country in ways that
03:39many people have not.
03:40He understands the depth of the corruption at these institutions, which the American
03:44people reelected President Trump to shake up.
03:47And I think it's quite despicable to see many networks in this room who have had chyrons
03:52on their television screens labeling Mr. Bongino as a far-right podcaster.
03:57He is not.
03:58He is a former law enforcement agent.
04:01He is a former Secret Service agent who put his life on the line to protect this country,
04:06and that is why the president of the United States has entrusted him for this important
04:09role.
04:11He is also an outsider to this Washington swamp, and we often see that when outsiders
04:14are appointed to such coveted positions, a lot of people in this city get very, very
04:19nervous.
04:20And they should be, because Dan Bongino and Kash Patel and Attorney General Bondi are
04:23focused on rooting out the corruption at these agencies and ending the weaponization of government
04:28once and for all.
04:29I'd like to end with something.
04:31As you all know —
04:32James, as you were just about to do.
04:34You know what, James?
04:35I'm feeling generous.
04:36Go ahead.
04:37I'll take it.
04:38Thank you, Caroline.
04:39Sure.
04:40I wanted to ask about —
04:41Don't make me regret this.
04:42I wanted to ask about the Macron visit and the Russia-Ukraine talks in general.
04:48Sure.
04:49It was pretty clear to my eye that President Macron was performing a kind of delicate dance,
04:52lavishing praise on the president while seeking in his own remarks to try to bind President
04:56Trump to positions and even specific language that the president has not committed to heretofore.
05:02One of the most bracing comments from President Macron was when he said that the deal that
05:08President Trump is negotiating with the Russians must not be, quote, a surrender for Ukraine.
05:14All of the public points that we have heard from President Trump, from Secretary Hexeth,
05:18and from other administration officials talking about these negotiations have averred to,
05:23quite openly, to concessions from the Ukrainians that will have to be made — the minerals
05:27deal, the abandonment of their NATO ambitions, and other elements.
05:31So far, we have not heard any administration official suggest a single concession that
05:35the Russians should be prepared to make.
05:37And so I wonder if you could assure us, at a minimum, that this negotiation process will
05:42not be as one-sided as the Europeans seem to think it is, that, in fact, President Putin
05:46will also be made to engage in some concessions to reach this deal.
05:51Well, I think the president knows how to make a deal better than anyone who has ever assumed
05:55the office of the American presidency.
05:57And in order to make a deal, you have to bring both sides to the table.
06:01And typically, when you make a good deal, both sides leave that table a little bit unhappy.
06:05I'm not going to outline the concessions that the president and his team are engaged
06:09in discussing.
06:10These are obviously ongoing negotiations, and it would be unwise of me to impede them
06:15from this podium.
06:16But the president has made significant improvements in ending this conflict.
06:20He is committed to seeing an end to the war.
06:22He wants to see the bloodshed and the killing stopped.
06:25He wants to stop seeing young men being killed and slaughtered.
06:29This has been going on for far too long.
06:31The president inherited this mess because of the incompetence of the previous administration,
06:35and he's committed to fixing it.
06:37And he's made, you know, some of those concessions clear, but I'm not going to get ahead of him
06:40on additional ones.
06:41But he is wholeheartedly committed to striking a peace deal in Russia and Ukraine, also in
06:46the Middle East.
06:47Thank you very much, guys.
06:48Good to see you.
06:49We'll see you later.
06:50Good afternoon, everybody.
06:51How are we today?
06:53Good.
06:55During his inaugural address, President Trump promised that America would be a manufacturing
06:59nation once again, and liberal pundits mocked him for it.
07:03But those critics were proven wrong once again.
07:06On the heels of President Trump's Oval Office meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook last week,
07:11Apple just announced its largest-ever commitment to American jobs and industry, with plans
07:16to spend and invest more than $500 billion in America over the next four years.
07:23Over the course of the current Trump administration, Apple plans to hire around 20,000 new workers,
07:29creating high-paying jobs right here in America.
07:32And the investment isn't limited to one specific region of our country.
07:36Apple teams and facilities will expand all over our country in Arizona, California, Iowa,
07:42Nevada, North Carolina, Michigan, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.
07:47With President Trump in charge, America is open for business.
07:52Apple CEO Tim Cook said it best in the company's announcement, we are bullish on the future
07:57of American innovation.
07:59On top of this incredible Apple announcement, President Trump already announced more than
08:03$1 trillion in pledged investments into the United States.
08:07And on another important note that the American people entrusted President Trump to fulfill,
08:12this administration's efforts to seal the border continue to prove extraordinarily successful.
08:17In President Trump's first month back in office alone, illegal border crossings hit lows not
08:22seen in decades, down 94% over the past year, while interior arrests are up 134%.
08:31And this past Saturday, this is a significant statistic that I wanted to share with all
08:35of you.
08:36There were only 220 illegal border crossings on Saturday.
08:41This is a 15-year low.
08:44Think about that in comparison to the amount of illegal border crossings we saw under the
08:48previous administration.
