00:00Mark would you like to say something? Yeah, first of all, thank you so much. Mr. President. They're not again for hosting me and
00:07But also for taking time in Florida a couple of weeks after you were reelected
00:12And of course our phone call a couple of weeks ago, and I must say
00:17trim 45 you
00:20basically
00:22You originated the fact that in your you know spending when you take it to aggregate
00:27700 billion more on defense than when you came in office in 2016 2017
00:32But that was trim 45, but then when you look at trim 47
00:36What happened the last couple of weeks is really staggering the Europeans committing to a package of 800 billion defense spending
00:44the Germans now
00:46Potentially up to half a trillion extra in defense spending and then of course you had
00:50Here start me here the British Prime Minister and others all committing to a much higher defense spending
00:56We need to do more
00:57But I really want to work together with you in a run-up to the DH summit to make sure that we will have a NATO
01:03Which is really reinvigorated under your leadership, and we are getting there and we also discuss
01:10Defense production and because we need to produce more weaponry. We are not doing enough and not in the US not in Europe
01:17And we are lacking behind when you compare to the Russians in the Chinese and you have a huge defensive industrial base
01:24Europeans buying four times more here
01:27Than the other the other way around which is good because you have a strong defense industry
01:31But we need to do more there to make sure that we are hand-potting the production and kill the red tape
01:36So I would love to work with you on that
01:39And finally Ukraine you broke the deadlock as you said all the killing the young people dying
01:46cities getting destroyed the fact that you did that you started the dialogue with the Russians and the successful talks in Saudi Arabia now with
01:53Ukrainians, I really want to commend you for this. So well, the Hague is my hometown
01:58I love to host you there in the summer and work together to make sure that that will be a splash a real success
02:04projecting American power on the world stage
02:08What mark is saying is when I first went to NATO my first meeting
02:12I noticed that very few people were paying and if they were they weren't paying their fair share. There were only seven
02:19Countries that were paying what they were supposed to be paid, which was yeah
02:23could be if it was but
02:26there were just very few countries that were paying and
02:29Even the pain it was a 2% which is too low. It should be higher. It should be quite a bit higher, but
02:36Yet Poland and I remember Poland was actually paying a little bit more than there was supposed to which was very impressed with
02:43and they they've been actually terrific and some of the others but most of them weren't paying or they were paying very little and
02:50I didn't think it was appropriate to bring it up there
02:53But I said it's going to be brought up at my next meeting and my next meeting
02:56You know the first meeting I want to give a little break the second meeting it began and I was able to raise
03:02Hundreds of billions of dollars. I just said we're not going to be involved with you if you're not going to pay and
03:07the money started pouring in and NATO became much stronger because of my actions and working along with a lot of people including mark, but
03:16They would not pay for other
03:18Presidents and I don't think other presidents even knew that they weren't paid
03:23I asked first question has everybody paid up and
03:26Literally, I mean they showed they told me seven you could be right
03:29It could be three but that makes it even worse, but they just weren't paying and I said no
03:34I won't protect if you're not paying if you're delinquent or if the money isn't paid
03:39Why would we do that?
03:41And as soon as I said that you get a little hit from the press because they said oh gee, that's not very nice
03:47but if you said the other nobody would have paid and
03:50The money started coming in by the billions and you know hundreds of billions of dollars
03:55Float into NATO and NATO became strong. Yeah, and you remember that your predecessor who I thought was a very good man
04:02Stoltenberg he sends his
04:04terrific Stoltenberg Secretary General and he made the statement that when
04:09Trump came in the money started coming in like we never saw before hundreds of a actually
04:14Probably close to six hundred billion dollars came in and
04:18NATO became strong from that standpoint and now we have to use it wisely and we have to get this war over with
04:25You'll be back to a normal much more normal life and
