00:00Another question.
00:01Please, go ahead.
00:02Just following up on your comments on the economy, there is a report that consumer confidence
00:03fell for the fourth straight month.
00:04What is your message to Americans who are concerned about the pandemic?
00:05Well, I know this, that for the first time in like 50 years, right track, wrong track,
00:21we were on the right track.
00:23And I think people see that.
00:24And if you look at prices, prices are way down.
00:27You know, when I first came here, the first time I met with you people officially, they
00:34were screaming at me about eggs.
00:36I said, I've been here for a week and I'm being yelled at about eggs, eggs, egg prices
00:42have come down 45, 50 percent in the last week and a half.
00:46And our secretary of agriculture has done a great job.
00:49As you know, Brooke, she's done a fantastic job and others working with her have done
00:53a great job.
00:54We brought eggs down at a level that nobody thought we could get at.
01:00I inherited that situation and I inherited a grocery situation.
01:03The groceries went way up an old fashioned word, but it's a very descriptive word.
01:09Grocers have gone through the roof and I used to campaign on it.
01:12I used to say, we're going to get groceries down and we have got it down.
01:15I watched a certain newscast over the weekend and a congressman, Democrat congressman said,
01:21well, Trump's done a lot.
01:22I agree.
01:23He's been great on the border.
01:24He's been great on the military.
01:25But, you know, he hasn't brought prices down.
01:26That's false.
01:27Gasoline is way down.
01:31Eggs are way down.
01:33Groceries are down very substantially, but down.
01:37Almost everything's down.
01:38Now, I'd like to see interest rates come down a little bit and you're going to see billions
01:43of dollars, even trillions of dollars coming into our country very soon in the form of
01:47tariffs because we were abused by presidents that, frankly, in all fairness, it wasn't
01:53their expertise, but they had no idea what they were doing.
01:55You think tariffs will create more jobs here in America?
01:59Oh, yeah, sure.
02:00It's going to be, it'll be, it'll create a lot of money and more jobs.
02:04But if you look, so in the last, these gentlemen would know about it.
02:08And ladies, because some of the ladies are great businessmen in this room that are becoming
02:13ambassadors.
02:14Great.
02:15Really great.
02:16Top of the line.
02:18When you look at the number of companies that have said like we're close to, I would say
02:22close to $4 trillion.
02:24We never had numbers like that.
02:26The number one chip maker in the world from Taiwan coming in with $200 billion.
02:32We have Apple, look at Apple, $500 billion, $500 billion.
02:40They're going to build plants all over the United States.
02:43They were all being built in China.
02:45You have many, many companies and maybe above all you have the car companies coming in at
02:48levels that nobody's ever seen before.
02:50We have, Honda is opening up one of the biggest plants in the world in Indiana and many car
02:57companies are coming in.
02:59We have AI, we're leading China by a lot in AI and we're going to keep it that way because
03:06we've made it very good for them and we're going to protect them once a year.
03:10We'll protect them through taxes, through incentives, and also through tariffs.
03:14Thank you very much, everybody.
03:15Thank you very much.
