How did they bring the Iron Man suit to life? It wasn’t as simple as it looked on screen. First, they had to capture every detail of Robert Downey Jr.'s body using plaster and silicone molds. Then they crafted the suit out of plastic that could bend and conform to the shape of the body. But the final touch was added in post-production. The actor wore a green suit underneath the plastic armor so that they could overlay the stunning computer graphics later. Graphics even better than the last 20 Marvel movies. That’s why the 2008 Iron Man has better CGI than the more recent Marvel projects, I love that first suit.
