00:00I was so glad she arrived.
00:02This girl was going to help us.
00:04She was Mary Poppins.
00:09She's bubbly, she's lively, she's full of ideas, she's bright.
00:13The girls thought she was amazing, the girls thought she was full of fun.
00:19Her stories were fantastical.
00:21We were fascinated by them.
00:23Her stories were so far-fetched that you couldn't make it up.
00:26The minute her mouth was moving, she was lying.
00:32Well, from Claudia Bronwyn, Lucy Fitzwilliams, to Carrie Jade Williams,
00:36these are just some of the different identities taken by just one person, Samantha Cooks.
00:41Serial fraudster, Samantha Cooks.
00:43These are the names that she's been using around the country.
00:46Sadie Harris.
00:47Carrie Jade Williams.
00:49Lucy Fitzwilliams.
00:50Lucy Hart.
00:51Lucy Williamson.
00:52Ellen Harris.
00:53Everything that she said, everything that she did, was a lie throughout.
00:59Where is the real Carrie Jade?
01:01Who is she?
01:02She's gone from tone to tone.
01:04A pure con artist.
01:06I was really scared for my friends and their children.
01:10I slept with a hatchet beside my bed.
01:13We're wrapped up in some serious thing, and I don't know how far this has gone.
01:19Who have we had looking after our children?
01:20Who have we had looking after our children?
01:22Who have we had?
01:23Who have we had?
01:24Who have we had?
01:25Who have we had?
01:26How are we had to?
01:28All right.
01:29How are we still a bit?
01:31Over a year ago now, I got diagnosed with a terminal degenerative neurological illness called Huntington's.
01:50is basically Parkinson's meets ALS meets Alzheimer's and it had destroyed a large portion
01:56of my brain at that point and I was very very poorly it was very poorly girl and kind of ended
02:03up in intensive care and part of going through that I had a great neurologist and he said to me
02:09do you know what write a bucket list and see you know use your time as well as you you want to use
02:15it's your decision that's kind of the blessing that Huntington's has given me is that I I'm
02:19limited for time and I've gone I'm gonna live life on my terms and have a lot of fun obviously
02:26none of this is true for someone who's just hearing this story for the first time
02:32it could be really hard to get the head around why would you believe someone who's telling you all
02:39this but this woman is extremely skilled at making her stories believable she's done this
02:49so skillfully with so many people for so many years that I would say she could she could fool
02:57pretty much anyone
02:59go for a walk
03:14come on
03:16good boy
03:17good boy
03:18good boy
03:19kenmare is a lovely small town
03:24often confused as a village but it is a town
03:28one of those classic everyone knows each other kind of nice community
03:34people that have a warm heart you know and I think she sensed it kind of fell in love with
03:43Kerry realized that there's a lovely community down here I've made really good friends in
03:48I love it down here the house next door to me had been empty for a while the landlord Tim also owned
04:02the house that I was living in so he contacted me to say somebody was going to be moving in
04:07oh she was going to be there long term five years plus that's what any landlord wants a good tenant
04:18you could definitely say this should be every landlord's dream if you believed her if somebody
04:24had asked me back then if your new neighbor seems trustworthy I would have said probably yes
04:29I did like her she was an English woman living on her own she was part of the evangelical Christian
04:39church polite very sort of well-spoken friendly soft I do sort of have quite a good sense of humor
04:50she seemed to have made friends with a few local women
04:54Carrie wrote us an initial email to inquire about a residency
05:04I am a neurodiverse writer that relies on assistive technology to communicate
05:10after winning the prestigious Financial Times essay competition in 2020 I was agented
05:15I wondered if you had a formal process for applying for residency opportunities
05:21in regards Carrie Jade Williams
05:22Carrie was believable Carrie was welcomed because Ireland is a very welcoming place
05:32she was invited to participate as a writer in residence and she had said yes I'll participate
05:40and she would write a piece she went up on stage with other really good writers from around
05:45the area and she presented her piece I do not share photos of my husband online his next wife
05:52the one after me the one who will love him when I'm gone when I'm buried she will share photos
06:00Financial Times was really that that was one that sort of changed everything I would always be
06:05so grateful Financial Times have been amazing
06:08she was just fascinating that's what she was she was fascinating and I thought that her essay that
06:16she wrote for the Financial Times which I believe she did write was really really good and she
06:22talked about her Huntington's disease and how she needed assistive technology to do her work
06:28so I thought she was an excellent writer
06:32I have so much fun with my writing and it's opened so many doors for me
06:36there was also things online about her winning this award lots of stuff online about her writing about her story
06:44it was definitely impressive
06:49I always say Huntington's disease made me brave you know and people I hate if people tell me oh
06:57you're very brave you know you're inspirational it was heartbreaking it was really heartbreaking
07:03it was difficult for her to walk headaches and and shakes you felt so sorry for her
07:08she had collapsed one day crossing a street she was telling me she was in and out of hospital
07:13she also told me that she like had almost died choking on a piece of pasta recently that her swallow
07:20was now gone so basically I am having experimental brain surgery for my terminal Huntington's disease
07:27this is where the fun starts
07:32Netflix were going to be making a film of her and she was heading to Los Angeles to get
07:36a chip put into her brain now that I'm saying the words I'm saying were we mad
07:42it's a 15 millimetre hole that they have to drill through your skull to put it in so it's quite small
07:48we got hundreds of emails every year suggesting documentaries we make and this one came in and it
07:57was fantastic her email was perfect it was a documentary maker's dream because she was saying
08:05she had this illness she was going to have three chips in her brain and it was going to be done while
08:10she was awake and we could go to Los Angeles to record that like she was brilliant it's unbelievable what
08:16she's going through she told me so much about her and that I was a bit bewildered you know as you do
08:24online you sort of see someone's name and you look on their profile and you start piecing things
08:28together there was lots of stuff about her on TikTok now I am I do a huge amount of advocacy around
08:35Huntington's disease I sent it on to a few of my friends saying oh this is my neighbour that I was
08:40telling you about accessibility should be about making the world more improved and better for humans
08:46I hope that in the future when you know when some young woman gets the diagnosis of Huntington's
08:55that the first thing they might see is someone like me that's living life
08:59she was definitely impressive and exciting it was amazing that she was continuing to work like she said
09:10she was working and that she was putting her energy into helping other people she spoke a lot about that she had her own business
09:19I'm a single mum both of the children are on the autistic spectrum
09:45I enjoy scrolling through TikTok it's kind of my escape from real life on an evening I would just have a little scroll on there
09:54just as a break I remember the first videos I saw of Carrie she had one of those faces where it just drew you in naturally
10:03and I remember I would every day I would wake up and want to check if she'd posted any videos
10:08well Fabe needs to wear an alligator with a tinfoil hat
10:11but yeah thank you for joining me it's lovely to see some of you and I will reach out again later
10:15um okay thank you
10:17it kind of took a turn she started showing us the sensory items that she's made
10:22she claimed that she could print anything on a 3D printer
10:26she then went on to say that she wanted to help so many families before she died
10:31so this is the space that Carrie Jade had promised we were going to have the sensory room in
10:38so the plan was to have like fibre optics coming from like a waterfall
10:42there was going to be like bubble tubes on the wall so you can have like a flat bubble tube
10:47they're worth so much money I could never buy it
10:50for my children they have pretty big meltdowns
10:53it can be quite extreme sometimes there can be pretty violent behaviour
10:58to just kind of have a sensory space where they can touch base
11:02come back down to earth regulate their emotions a little bit can be really helpful
11:06I went on to Carrie's website
11:11she claimed that she had a factory and she was saying that she had like employees
11:18at the moment in our main business we have 18 um like work from home positions that are vacant
11:25I think we're all really awesome I love my team
11:27because she claimed she could 3D print this sensory room
11:31it was going to be a lot cheaper and it was her dying wish
11:35she wanted to help people because she was dying
11:38I purchased her 250 pound bundle
11:42that 250 pound was my children's Christmas money
11:47she then after speaking to me told me she liked me so much
11:51she was going to make this a thousand pound worth of stuff
11:54it would have been life changing
11:56I thought wow I believed she was the real deal
12:00next thing she was actually engaged
12:07she told us loads of things about Fionn
12:10he sounded like an absolute legend
12:12he sounded lovely
12:13oh Fionn what do we say about Fionn he's a lovely man
12:19we met through a church group
12:21she was obsessed with Lego and she was going to have a Lego wedding
12:24with her fiancé Fionn
12:26Lego cake and Lego little layouts and things like that
12:29that it was going to be Lego themed
12:31I thought this was the best thing since sliced pan
12:33so the dress Carrie Jade chose is something like this
12:39just a very very soft skirt
12:42very romantic floral lace detail on top
12:45that was her dream come true
12:47she said yes to the dress
12:49I was thinking I've never seen this guy
12:55she's been here for 3, 4, 5 months
12:59and I've still never seen this guy
13:01nobody had seen him
13:03Fionn would never appear
13:04because maybe he was in Poland
13:07helping out in Ukraine
13:08and the whole Ukraine war had started at the time
13:11and so he had this really important job
13:14where he was trying to get
13:15medicines and things like that into the Ukraine
13:19and so there we were sitting open mouth
13:21listening to these going
13:23isn't he fantastic
13:24we tried to ring her
13:26then she didn't answer the calls anymore
13:31there was nothing coming from her
13:32weeks and weeks and weeks
13:34no one paid for that dress
13:35no one
13:36don't think that there was ever a wedding
13:38and I even don't think that there is a fiancé
13:41there's nothing around the told story
13:44that is actually true
13:47I kept going to Kenmare
13:50I would ring her and drive her
13:51yeah yeah I'll see you
13:52and then when I'd get close to Kenmare
13:54I'd get a message saying
13:55oh I'm sorry I can't see you
13:56whatever
13:56I was just being strung along
13:58and strung along
13:58and strung along
13:59and eventually we as the team decided
14:01either she's making it up
14:04or she's not well
14:05either way we don't have a documentary
14:07and I dropped her
14:09she wasn't paying rent
14:10and I wasn't pushing her
14:11because I thought she had Huntington
14:13and she was telling me
14:13she was in and out of hospital
14:15and I was willing to let it slide
14:17she's a pure con artist
14:20bit like Catch Me If You Can
14:22that kind of movie
14:23and has got away with it
14:25she had us all fooled
14:27so she did
14:29and if she didn't do the Airbnb thing
14:31I suppose she'd have never been found
14:33caught out
14:33I still stand by the fact
14:53that she looks so sweet and innocent
14:54she doesn't look like
14:56she's done the things that she's done
14:57she's at face value
15:00she looks like a really trustworthy person
15:03to change
15:04I've always said
15:06TikTok fame isn't real fame
15:07only the people on that app
15:09know who you are
15:10I had a large following
15:12and I wanted to use it for good
15:13so I thought
15:15well why don't I try and like
15:16build other people's pages up
15:18help them out
15:19people who really need it
15:20and I was tagged in her videos
15:22by a lot of different people
15:24her story was
15:25is that she was being sued
15:26by I believe an American couple
15:28for having disabled AIDS in her house
15:31and that they were traumatized
15:33by just being around them
15:34apparently she said
15:35that she didn't declare it
15:36when she was renting out the place
15:38so that they were so traumatized by it
15:40that they were suing her
15:41and I know yeah
15:43these guests are suing for
15:44well it's a life changing sum of money
15:47they are so emotionally traumatized
15:48and triggered by being a force
15:50to be around me
15:50they are seeking a huge amount
15:52of compensation
15:53I was disgusted at what was happening
15:56to her
15:56I did feel sorry for her
15:58and I felt very compelled to help her
16:01I made my video
16:03this lovely lady has Huntington's disease
16:05and she opened her home up to Airbnb
16:08and some guests came into her house
16:12and they are now suing her
16:14for £450,000
16:17for trauma of having to be around her
16:22anyway this lady's got a petition
16:26run to this lady's page
16:28she absolutely needs it
16:30to me this lady who was disabled
16:32had Huntington's
16:33probably didn't have very long left of her life
16:35it was awful
16:37go to her page
16:39interact with all of her videos
16:41please please please
16:42we need to get this as far as we can
16:44it really needs a collective
16:45community support here
16:47for everybody to try and spread
16:50as much awareness around this as possible
16:52overnight it just expanded
16:54my video went up to like 1.2 million
16:56and then all of a sudden
16:57she's got all of these followers
16:59and that video just went super viral
17:02the lady in the video
17:04has terminal Huntington's disease
17:06which is
17:07it's a debilitating illness
17:09this is just outrageous
17:11even if the judge threw the whole thing out
17:13and warded her millions and millions
17:16they'd just wait her out
17:17because she's going to die
17:18please go and sign it to offer support
17:21and show that the disabled communities
17:22stick together
17:23and that this is not acceptable
17:25Airbnb need to be ashamed of themselves
17:28it was absolutely bonkers
17:30I was like amazed by her
17:33because she was managing to deal with it
17:37I was also so sad for her to be going through this
17:42I got an email
17:45when I was up to football with my son
17:50it was completely anonymous
17:52I was genuinely shaking
17:54it was just a link
17:57it was a link to her surrogacy scam
18:00in the UK
18:00Samantha Cooks
18:02who is this?
18:04is this the same person?
18:07I just couldn't believe
18:09that she could have been capable
18:11who is Samantha?
18:14this has to be a mistake
18:16it cannot be the same person
18:18I just think that she's just a very dangerous person
18:39I actually thought we were possibly a one-off
18:42I didn't expect her to then keep doing
18:46the things that she has done
18:49to other people
18:50other victims
18:51and get away with it
18:54it's sick
18:55it really is
18:56we were going through
19:00a hardship having a family
19:02we'd tried different avenues
19:03we'd gone down adoption
19:05we'd gone down fostering
19:08we'd gone through
19:09a series of IVF treatments
19:12we'd kept on failing and failing
19:13you see everybody
19:16around you
19:19having kids
19:21you'd think that
19:23it's something that would
19:25possibly come naturally to you
19:29you don't realise
19:31how
19:31how
19:32oh god
19:34something so natural
19:45that should happen
19:52literally doesn't
19:54so at that point
19:56we were desperate
19:57for having a family
19:58I'd put a
20:00sort of
20:01feeler out
20:02I had a reply
20:04from
20:05Samantha
20:06and saying that
20:07she would be willing
20:08to help us
20:09it was fantastic
20:11it was almost like
20:12being on cloud nine
20:14you won the lottery
20:15you were finally
20:16going to get that family
20:17that you
20:18really really wanted
20:19she came to the house
20:22she was
20:23very kind
20:25warm-hearted
20:26delicate
20:27she said she'd been
20:30a surrogate beforehand
20:31to another lady
20:33and her husband
20:33and produced
20:35a little girl
20:36she was asking
20:38for money
20:40regarding insurance
20:41for the surrogacy policy
20:43there was other bits and pieces
20:46that she needed
20:47during pregnancy
20:48she started
20:51to slip up
20:52we asked about
20:54contracts
20:55she wasn't willing
20:57to part with that
20:58she kept on messaging
21:00saying that
21:01the contract
21:02needed amending
21:03and needed amending
21:04when I asked her
21:06if she could
21:07produce the contract
21:08to then either
21:09email it
21:10if it was easier
21:10I would come down
21:11to hers
21:12she then started
21:13threatening
21:14saying that
21:15we were not allowed
21:16to go down
21:16to her area
21:17I was thinking
21:19no no
21:19this is just
21:20wrong
21:21my husband
21:22then rang the police
21:23it just literally
21:25all came crashing down
21:26there was no baby
21:29and then next thing
21:32we know
21:32is she's been
21:33arrested
21:33the court had put down
21:42for 2000
21:43I personally
21:44don't think
21:45it's that
21:45it's anywhere
21:47between the region
21:48of two to five thousand
21:49pounds
21:50for us
21:52she got off
21:53scot-free
21:53really
21:54a slap on the wrist
21:55nine months
21:55of spending
21:56tests
21:56and paying us
21:57back
21:57twenty pound
21:57a month
21:58which
21:58we very rarely
22:00saw
22:01she put it
22:02in a statement
22:03didn't she
22:04that
22:04she was
22:05extremely sorry
22:06for the trauma
22:07that she put us
22:08through
22:08and that she
22:10it was never
22:10an intention
22:11yadda yadda yadda
22:14but then
22:14she'd learned
22:15from her mistakes
22:16and she'd never
22:16do it again
22:17she's found
22:18other avenues
22:19and different channels
22:20to go down
22:20to defraud
22:22people basically
22:23and get money
22:24she's quite
22:26happily doing it
22:27until somebody
22:28stops her
22:29completely
22:30she's gonna
22:31carry on
22:32I was determined
22:41to find out
22:42what was actually
22:43going on
22:43I just couldn't
22:45believe what I was
22:45seeing
22:45I didn't believe
22:47that link
22:48in the first place
22:48frauding people
22:50like this
22:51no this has
22:53to be a mistake
22:53it cannot
22:54be the same
22:55person
22:55my heart
22:58was pounding
22:58my heart
22:59because at this
23:00point I'd made
23:00like two or three
23:01videos
23:01and there was
23:02millions of views
23:03on them
23:03this lovely lady
23:04has Huntington's
23:05disease
23:06and she opened
23:06her home up
23:07to air
23:08b&b
23:08run to this
23:09lady's page
23:10she can't be
23:11lying about this
23:12who lies about
23:13things like that
23:13I've sent all of
23:14these people over
23:15to her page
23:16supporting her
23:17what if I've
23:19got this wrong
23:19I had to have
23:21factual evidence
23:22or as much as
23:23that I could
23:24get hold of
23:24before I went
23:26back to TikTok
23:26and said look
23:27I don't think
23:27that this lady's
23:28right
23:29didn't really know
23:30what to do
23:30it was a very
23:31stressful few
23:31days of me
23:32trying to
23:33find information
23:35evidence

23:50it was quite hard
23:50to say well
23:51is this the same
23:52person
23:52but because she'd
23:54had moles on
23:55her neck

23:57identify that

24:15speak to you
24:15and within
24:17seconds my

24:19gone other
24:20comments had
24:21popped up
24:22saying oh I
24:22thought your
24:22name was
24:23Carrie Jade
24:23oh I
24:24thought your
24:24name was
24:24this I
24:25thought your
24:25name was
24:25that and I
24:26was watching
24:26it unfold
24:27in front of
24:28me and then
24:29the next thing
24:29I know the
24:30comments were
24:30turned off
24:31why did she
24:33take herself to
24:34social media
24:35why did she
24:35put herself on
24:36social media
24:37I'm not quite
24:38sure if she
24:39just had a
24:39moment of
24:40stupidness
24:42where she was
24:43like well
24:43nobody's gonna
24:43recognise me
24:44it'll be fine
24:45the dying lady
24:46is what I
24:47knew her as
24:48I thought
24:49she was amazing
24:50she was almost
24:51like a celebrity
24:52she was getting
24:52hundreds of
24:53thousands of
24:53views
24:54I knew
24:55what I knew
24:56at this point
24:57I had to
24:59tell people
25:00so I did it
25:03I broke the
25:04story
25:04this here
25:06is
25:08Samantha Cooks
25:10this is the
25:11lady from
25:12the disability
25:12videos with
25:13the Airbnb
25:14okay
25:15there's more
25:16stuff
25:16so this is
25:18other stuff
25:18that comes up
25:19on the internet
25:20Samantha Cooks
25:22I don't know
25:23if she's got
25:24Huntington's
25:24disease and I
25:25don't know if
25:25this happened to
25:26her but what I
25:27do know is that
25:28I've had a lot
25:28of people messaging
25:29me telling me
25:30that they've known
25:31her by different
25:32names I've seen
25:33it on her post
25:34she's turned her
25:35comments off
25:35because there was
25:37an argument in her
25:38post about her
25:38pretending to be
25:39other people
25:40I honestly do not
25:42know what's going
25:42on I woke up to
25:43a video by
25:45Maz which was
25:46exposing Carrie
25:48Jade up until
25:49this point I had
25:51absolutely zero
25:53suspicion there was
25:55a statement on
25:56Samantha's website
25:57that it was her
25:58sister she said
26:00that I am Carrie
26:01Jade Williams
26:02Samantha Cooks
26:03a scammer is my
26:04mentally unwell
26:05sister an evil
26:08sister but obviously
26:12we knew quite
26:13quickly that that
26:14wasn't true
26:14Carrie Jade
26:15Williams is
26:16Samantha Cooks
26:17it was so crazy
26:19I paid the money
26:21to Samantha Cooks
26:22but I never
26:23received a single
26:24sensory item from
26:25Samantha and I am
26:26yet to find another
26:27person who did
26:28I was gooded that
26:30we weren't getting
26:31a sensory room
26:32we're the kind of
26:32people that can't
26:34afford to be losing
26:35money once I was
26:37scammed I went on
26:39TikTok this has
26:41happened to me has
26:42anyone else had
26:42this same experience
26:44people were making
26:44videos after videos
26:45it's TikTok drama
26:47and TikTok loves
26:48drama the whole
26:49situation with
26:50Samantha Cooks is
26:51really really
26:51disturbing she's been
26:53doing this for so
26:54long it is
26:55definitely pathological
26:56she's a very
26:57dangerous woman and
26:58we need to keep
26:59spreading the word
26:59we need to keep
27:00talking about her so
27:01she's got nowhere to
27:01hide I kind of went
27:03into a little
27:03detective mode I was
27:05posting my own
27:06videos on TikTok
27:07she's just a long
27:09term scammer there
27:10was a surrogacy
27:10scam she is Sam
27:13Cooks she is Sam
27:14Cooks I was digging
27:15and trying to find out
27:17information people
27:18were commenting from
27:19years and years ago
27:21my name is Jamie Bunting
27:39and I met Samantha Cooks
27:42in September 2011
27:45while we were studying
27:46for HND in business
27:48at Shrewsbury College
27:49when I first met Sam
27:56she was very bubbly
27:57smiling
27:58very well dressed
27:59she was 23 and I was
28:0124
28:02the sorts of person
28:03you just you fell in
28:04love with really at
28:05first
28:05she got to know me
28:07and realised I wasn't
28:08in the best place
28:09and she just sort of
28:09offered me that support
28:10and made me believe
28:12that I could do things
28:13she was very intelligent
28:15she used to help me
28:16after classes
28:17I thought oh my god
28:19I've made such a
28:19wonderful friend really
28:21my friend started a
28:24relationship on the
28:25course with Samantha
28:27she told us in class
28:29that she was carrying
28:29a child
28:30we were all really
28:31excited
28:32two of our friends
28:33on the course
28:34were having a child
28:34together and it was
28:35it was just a great
28:36feeling at the time
28:37and I remember
28:38we were walking
28:39through ASDA
28:40the one day
28:41me and my friends
28:41were like oh
28:42should we have a look
28:43at the baby clothes
28:43and see if we can
28:44get something for them
28:45too
28:45it was you know
28:46usually we're walking
28:47into Sainsbury's
28:48going to create a
28:49being you know
28:49I started picking up
28:55on certain things
28:56with Sam
28:56I think she'd just
28:57be changing
28:58what she was saying
28:59a lot
28:59she said she had
29:02a bad back
29:03we were all being
29:04supportive you know
29:05helping her get up
29:06taking her bags
29:07giving her lift
29:08to her station
29:08and seeing if she
29:09wanted any help
29:10up the stairs
29:11she picked a box
29:12up for the teacher
29:13the one day
29:14and I said
29:14oh Sam
29:14isn't your bat
29:15you know bad
29:16you said it was
29:17really severe
29:17and she was like
29:18oh no I just
29:19put some lotion
29:20on it to help
29:21and I thought
29:21right okay
29:22and that's when
29:23I started thinking
29:24something not
29:26quite right here
29:27she said that
29:29she'd sort a trip
29:30out to Amsterdam
29:30for us
29:31a week before
29:33we were going
29:33to go away
29:33to Amsterdam
29:34she said
29:34oh I'm not sure
29:35we're going to go
29:35away because
29:36I'm not going
29:37to be able to go
29:38so can we just
29:40have the tickets
29:40and then she goes
29:41I've lost them
29:42that's when I
29:42started noticing
29:43the lies were
29:44starting to pack up
29:45a bit
29:45the tutor turned
29:46around to me
29:47and she said
29:47you're not going
29:49higher
29:49and I said
29:49no
29:50no
29:50so she goes
29:50have you got
29:51any suspicions
29:52I said I have
29:52yeah
29:52the tutor turned
29:54around she goes
29:54I shouldn't say
29:55this but I think
29:56you need to do
29:56some deep research
29:57online
29:5820 minutes later
30:0020 minutes later
30:00I found out
30:01about the
30:02surrogate scam
30:03I confronted her
30:09I can't believe
30:11you've done this
30:12look can I just
30:13have my money back
30:14and it went from
30:15the bubbly girl
30:16to being quite
30:17verbally horrible
30:18give it us back
30:20and we'll say no more
30:21you know
30:22that's when I started
30:24getting a reaction
30:24out of Sam
30:25who she is
30:27and what she was
30:27trying to do
30:28before the helping
30:29and hello
30:30and come and give me
30:31a hug and all this
30:32and let me look after
30:33you
30:33that was just an act
30:34to reel me in
30:35and that was the last
30:38time I saw her
30:39me and my friend
30:45Samantha's child's father
30:47met up for a drink
30:49and he was showing
30:51pictures of his child
30:52after they had the baby
30:55he said that the child
30:56had been removed from
30:57Sam and he's got full
30:58custody over it
30:59and that's when I found
31:01out Samantha Cooks
31:02has had her child
31:04taken away from her
31:05about a year after
31:20it was in the Shropshire
31:21store in Shrewsbury
31:23Samantha Cooks
31:25had gone missing
31:26there was this investigation
31:42involving
31:43Samantha Cooks
31:44she'd been reported
31:45missing
31:46straight off the bat
31:48it was
31:48an odd case
31:50the more you found
31:55out about her
31:55and the surrounding
31:57circumstances
31:57the
31:58the harder it got
32:00she'd had a very
32:01colourful
32:02history
32:02not to put too
32:04fine a point on it
32:05from an early age
32:06I think
32:06had been a bit of
32:07a Walter Mitty
32:08character
32:08she was
32:09a pathological liar
32:11her mother even
32:15used to tell her
32:16boyfriends
32:16that she was
32:17a pathological liar
32:18it is unusual
32:20for a mother
32:20publicly to say
32:22that her daughter
32:23lies
32:24lies
32:24a lot
32:25to her boyfriends
32:26you don't find out
32:27very often
32:27that stood out
32:29previously
32:30she'd been involved
32:31in a
32:32surrogacy case
32:33she had previous
32:35visits to Ireland
32:36so Ireland
32:39was a good place
32:39to go and
32:40look for her
32:41I've contacted
32:42the Gardaí
32:43sent them across
32:45our missing person
32:46report
32:46we'd been told
32:50she was pregnant
32:51knowing that
32:56she was pregnant
32:57as she was
32:58that would have
33:00impacted
33:00her reasoning
33:01I suspect
33:03she was clearly
33:03worried about
33:04is the second
33:05child going to
33:06be taken off
33:06me
33:06that clearly
33:09was the
33:09trigger
33:10for her
33:11going missing
33:12were there
33:13concerns
33:13that her being
33:14pregnant
33:15she might harm
33:16the baby
33:16well
33:17yes there would
33:18have been
33:19there was a
33:19question mark
33:20over it
33:20I think that's
33:21the best I can
33:22put it
33:22I thought
33:24we were going
33:24to be hearing
33:25more of her
33:25that just
33:27shone out
33:29loud and clear
33:30she just
33:32looked at the
33:33background
33:33and she just
33:34couldn't stop
33:34herself
33:35until she
33:37was found
33:38in Ireland
33:39we have
34:09happened to be
34:09I'd say
34:10the first
34:11one she
34:11hit
34:11when she
34:12came to
34:13Ireland
34:13when we knew
34:14Samantha Cook
34:15she was
34:16Sophia Williamson
34:17was in
34:18Eaton Derry
34:19in 2013
34:20if I met her
34:22today I'd still
34:22like her
34:23do you know
34:24she has that
34:24kind of a
34:25personality
34:25yeah
34:26just very
34:26likeable
34:27yeah
34:27I don't know
34:29she's just
34:30like a people
34:31person
34:31that she'd
34:32and you would
34:33go
34:33she's lovely
34:34isn't she
34:34she was
34:37running
34:38honeysuckles
34:39art school
34:40they were
34:41dirt cheap
34:41like
34:42three euro
34:43for three
34:44hours
34:44yeah
34:44and so
34:46I said oh great
34:47I'll bring my
34:48kids down
34:48and then I told
34:49Karen
34:50so it's her fault
34:51she was very
35:02heavily pregnant
35:03I mean
35:05you automatically
35:06just trust
35:07a pregnant woman
35:08when you see her
35:09don't you
35:09when had you
35:11met in Disneyland
35:12so she had
35:17spare places
35:19that she could
35:20offer us
35:21really cheap
35:22really cheap
35:22basically
35:23you're just
35:23playing with
35:24the buzz
35:24we had paid
35:31the deposit
35:32our husband
35:33said we were
35:33gullible
35:34we weren't
35:35the only ones
35:36no we weren't
35:36there was a few
35:37people
35:37was Disneyland
35:38meant to be
35:38in February
35:39yeah
35:40yeah
35:40and this could
35:41have been January
35:42and there was no
35:43mention
35:43there was nothing
35:44coming forward
35:45of any more
35:46details
35:46we were starting
35:47to get a bit
35:48sus about this
35:49there was just
35:50lots of things
35:51I suppose
35:51it's a small
35:52enough community
35:52and you know
35:53we all got
35:54talking
35:54and yeah
35:56you just know
35:57so we called
36:05down to her
36:06one night
36:06she had the baby
36:07wrapped up
36:09and all warm
36:09we'd heard that
36:11she had like
36:12delivered to the
36:12baby at home
36:13by herself
36:14by all accounts
36:15like that she had
36:16yeah
36:16just had the baby
36:17at home
36:17and neighbours
36:19were concerned
36:19because there
36:20didn't seem
36:21to be any
36:21health care
36:22or anything
36:24like that
36:24so they had
36:25reported it
36:25like
36:26yeah
36:26following her
36:31being discovered
36:33it was established
36:34that she had
36:35given birth
36:36and that baby
36:37sadly was
36:38removed from her
36:40and taken
36:42back to the UK
36:43and given to
36:44a partner
36:45who had
36:46reported her
36:47missing
36:47who was also
36:48looking after
36:49the other child
36:50that she'd had
36:51she decided
36:53that she wanted
36:56to continue
36:56living in Ireland
36:57for whatever reason
36:58it may all seem
36:59a bit odd
37:00but everyone's
37:02got a right
37:02to go missing
37:03our case was
37:04then closed
37:05she disappeared
37:07yeah
37:07gone
37:08very quickly
37:09we didn't know
37:10what happened to her
37:11no
37:11and I often did
37:12wonder down through
37:13the years
37:14what happened to her
37:14yeah
37:15Samantha Cooks
37:21has had two children
37:23that have been
37:24taken away from her
37:25however in Ireland
37:26she's stuck in after
37:27other people's children
37:28that they're unaware
37:29of Samantha's past
37:31which is a little bit
37:32concerning
37:33really
37:33this woman
37:36is not just
37:37a dying sick woman
37:39scamming for attention
37:40on TikTok
37:40there's so much
37:42more to it
37:42we kind of got
37:44a bit of a picture
37:45together of
37:46her life
37:47this is pretty insane
37:50her whole entire life
37:55has been one scam
37:57after another scam
37:58a lot of people
37:59were looking for
38:00information about her life
38:01once we got
38:02her name
38:03then you could kind of
38:05go on to like
38:05ancestry.com
38:06and you could work out
38:07actually
38:08she's had children
38:09I remember when I
38:12found out about her
38:13children
38:13just feeling
38:15utterly
38:16gobsmacked
38:17she just
38:19pathologically
38:20lies
38:21like she can't
38:21help it
38:22I don't even have
38:23kids
38:23but like the thought
38:24of trying to teach
38:25a child
38:26anything
38:26scares me
38:27as a mother
38:28myself
38:28I can't imagine
38:30not seeing my
38:30children
38:31I can't imagine
38:32going
38:33a couple of nights
38:35away from my
38:35children
38:36never mind
38:36having absolutely
38:37no contact
38:38and
38:38you've got to
38:39remember
38:40she was online
38:40as this lovely
38:41dying
38:42person
38:43when you say
38:45actually she's got
38:46children she's not
38:46allowed to see
38:47you would never put
38:49that with the Carrie
38:51Jade Williams
38:52that we got to know
38:53as a TikTok
38:54persona
38:55we came across
39:03Leila who had
39:05Samantha as a nanny
39:06in Ireland quite early on
39:08that's good
39:25that's all
39:26are you not hungry
39:28come on
39:30Lucy Hart
39:40that's what
39:41we know now
39:42has
39:42we moved
39:45here
39:46from the UK
39:46in
39:482005
39:49my husband
39:49was working full time
39:50and so was I
39:51I don't have any
39:52family
39:53my husband doesn't
39:54have any family
39:55here so it's just
39:56me and him
39:56we did check
39:57out all
39:58the creches
39:59we couldn't
40:00afford those
40:01crazy amounts
40:02of money
40:03I had one
40:04one of my old
40:05friends from
40:06back home say
40:08wow
40:08an au pair
40:09yeah you must
40:11have money
40:11no
40:12don't have money
40:13it's just it was
40:14more of a
40:15convenience
40:16and a cheaper
40:17option
40:17we used a website
40:19and that's
40:20where we found
40:22Lucy
40:23obviously
40:26being an
40:27English person
40:28and she's
40:29English
40:29seemed to get
40:30on like a
40:30house on fire
40:31I didn't
40:33check for
40:33any passports
40:34I didn't do
40:35any
40:35you know
40:36call in any
40:38references of
40:38what she was
40:39like
40:39I just took
40:40her as face
40:41value really
40:41she was Mary
40:42Poppins
40:43I was the age
40:46of 10
40:46turning 11
40:47she was
40:50genuinely
40:50a big ball
40:51of fun
40:52so it was
40:53everything up
40:53my alley
40:53the minute
40:57she would get
40:58up we would be
40:59doing something
40:59fun
41:00she genuinely
41:01did actually
41:02become a part
41:03of our family
41:04like my parents
41:04made her feel
41:06so welcomed
41:06I got really
41:08close to her
41:09I really did
41:10get close to her
41:11the tales that
41:15she used to tell
41:15everything that
41:17we would mention
41:18she's done it
41:20bigger and better
41:21you know so that
41:22you would get the
41:22wow factor from her
41:24she said that her
41:25mother was the
41:28manufacturer for
41:29sandpaper for B&Q
41:32you're sitting
41:33there and you're
41:33thinking wow
41:35that looks
41:38familiar that one
41:39there
41:40look this is it
41:44this was it
41:45this was the house
41:47because I can
41:47remember we packed
41:48in here
41:49at the time we
41:51were paying quite
41:52a bit for rent
41:53we couldn't afford
41:54to keep paying
41:54that much money
41:55Lucy was a
41:56Jehovah's Witness
41:57she mentioned
41:58that there was a
41:59new church that
42:00was going to be
42:01moving in
42:02to Maynooth
42:03there's a house
42:04going for cheaper
42:05than what we were
42:05paying
42:05she had been in
42:07touch with the
42:07church elder
42:08he won't mind a
42:10lovely family going
42:11into that house
42:11took us to the
42:14house showed us
42:15the outside
42:16beautiful house
42:17so we boxed
42:19everything up
42:20we gave notice
42:21to my landlord
42:22and each time we
42:23asked is there any
42:24chance we can go
42:24and we can view
42:25the place
42:26we just kept on
42:27getting oh
42:28such and such is
42:29out of town at the
42:29moment
42:30there was always
42:30an excuse
42:31there's something
42:33happening here
42:33and then the one
42:35particular day that
42:36she was in the car
42:37with us
42:37we happened to
42:38drive up past the
42:39house there was a
42:39gentleman standing
42:40in the garden
42:41so of course we
42:43were like great
42:43and all of a sudden
42:45she started to feel
42:46ill
42:46so she was like
42:49I really need to use
42:50the bathroom
42:50is there any chance
42:51that we could go
42:52to the restrooms
42:53nearest place we could
42:56think of was
42:56Tesco in Maynooth
42:57we were parked in the
42:58car park and she went
42:59upstairs and the two
43:00girls went with her
43:01my two children came
43:02running downstairs
43:02telling me that she
43:03collapsed in Tesco
43:05I just remember like
43:07picking up my little
43:07sister and running
43:09downstairs with her
43:10to let my mum know
43:13that Lucy had
43:14fainted
43:15she looked straight
43:16at my dad and was
43:17like it was like the
43:18light bulb kind of
43:19moment
43:19why didn't I pick up
43:21on this sooner
43:21there is no house
43:22Lucy went on some
43:24writer's retreat
43:25which she told us
43:26and she never came
43:29back
43:29we got the letter to
43:32say that she wasn't
43:32coming back
43:33she knew it was
43:35catching up with her
43:35it's all it's all
43:38fabrications
43:39she's being caught
43:40up on our lies
43:41so we were like
43:43right we're going to
43:43have to clear her
43:44room and we started
43:46pulling out things
43:47out the wardrobe
43:48and then there was
43:50a little index card
43:53notebook and I just
43:56started to read
43:58sorry
44:01in one of her lines
44:06she puts a stand
44:07shoulder to shoulder
44:08with the coroner
44:10that I did not
44:11murder my daughter
44:12and I just went
44:16who have we had
44:18looking after our
44:19children
44:19she never mentioned
44:32any children to me
44:33that she's ever had
44:34any children
44:34that's strange
44:37very strange
44:38this one is the one
44:47that we found in the
44:49room but as you can
44:50still see I stand
44:50shoulder to shoulder
44:51with the coroner
44:53that I did not
44:53murder my daughter
44:54I'm an open book
44:58I have no secrets
44:58I have no skeletons
45:00in my closet
45:01kind of thing
45:02she obviously
45:03clearly does
45:04I would warn
45:05anybody about her
45:06don't let her in
45:07your home
45:07don't let her in
45:08we were next door
45:25neighbours here in
45:26Kenmare
45:26Carrie Jade really
45:29infiltrated the community
45:30she's been here nine
45:31months or something
45:32I had questioned a lot
45:35of things over those
45:36months she would have
45:38had a slightly
45:38different story for
45:39everybody and a
45:40slightly different way
45:42of behaviour with
45:43different people
45:44there was a few of us
45:46in the town that were
45:47starting to get super
45:48suspicious
45:49I hadn't seen her for
45:50maybe a week
45:51I didn't know if she
45:53was in the house or
45:54not but I didn't hear
45:55anything and I didn't
45:56see anything
45:57I got a message on my
46:00phone from one of the
46:01other women I know
46:02who was getting
46:03suspicious with a
46:04link saw the
46:05comments
46:06you're not Carrie
46:10Jade Williams
46:10don't you remember
46:11us
46:12what the hell is
46:14going on
46:15Samantha Cooks
46:17they're saying that
46:18that's her name
46:19I obviously googled
46:21the name
46:22I knew
46:23straight away the
46:25picture was her
46:26there is no Carrie
46:27Jade Williams
46:28it was all lies that
46:30she brought to
46:31Kenmare
46:31I actually couldn't
46:34really grasp everything
46:35that was going on to
46:36begin with I was like
46:37okay so that's her and
46:38she did that and
46:40that's her and they're
46:42saying that that's her
46:43name I was all of a
46:44sudden dealing with
46:46somebody that I didn't
46:47have a clue what she
46:48was capable of or what
46:49she wanted to do or why
46:51she was doing any of
46:52it like none of it
46:53really even made sense
46:55she lives next door
46:57like what what am I
46:59going to do that's when
47:00it really started getting
47:03scary
47:03I didn't know whether
47:04she was in the house or
47:06not in the house
47:06neighbors hadn't seen her
47:08rubbish was building up
47:11outside and vermin were
47:15seen at the back door so
47:17I just took the bull by the
47:20horns and went in myself
47:21rubbish bread sausages rotten
47:27in the stench pizza boxes and
47:31mince pies

48:03knew where she'd gone I was
48:04really worried I didn't know
48:07where she was she was gone we
48:11all wanted to know where
48:13Samantha Cooks was what is she
48:15doing now there were more
48:18children actually exposed to
48:20Samantha Cooks she came in
48:24like an angel swooping in I
48:27thought she's a real life Mary
48:28Poppins she knew exactly what
48:32she was doing when she came to
48:33our house a mask dropped and
48:37this voice came from nowhere I
48:41will have them we just didn't
48:43know what she was going to do
