00:00We'll talk about this for a second. What were we talking about? Doesn't matter. It just got better.
00:06Please welcome Mr. Frank Caliendo.
00:09Yes!
00:10To the show.
00:11What a great entrance.
00:14I walked in and I met old friends from the hallway.
00:17Wow.
00:18It was somebody from another station down the hall who was like, wait a second, are you Frank Caliendo?
00:22I'm like, yeah. He goes, okay. And then he walked away and didn't let me in.
00:25And then I'm just standing there with these other guys, which we became great friends.
00:30No, no, yeah, yeah.
00:31Sometimes you just know.
00:32And then I was like, you're not going to just let me in?
00:36I would have left these guys here in a heartbeat.
00:38I have no problem with that.
00:39And they're like, we would have done it too.
00:41They're like, you're just stuck here with these two creepy guys?
00:43I'm like, you have no idea.
00:45But my life is like, you're zero on the creepy meter.
00:48Creepy meter doesn't even come close to that.
00:50They were very nice.
00:51I feel like it's gotten to a point where we should just give you a key fob
00:55so you can get in yourself.
00:56I would take it.
00:56I have stations where I have that.
00:58You do have the key fob accessibility?
01:00Yeah.
01:00I've had that.
01:01And entry codes like in Arizona.
01:03You know, but now here you have construction going on.
01:06So you'd be at actual physical peril.
01:07I also have a key.
01:08I have a key to a crane.
01:09You do?
01:10He gave me a key.
01:10How do you think I got in?
01:11Oh, my God.
01:12No, I didn't take a door.
01:13I was dropped in.
01:14It's why when you come up here, so a lot of people don't know,
01:16they're actually going to add an atrium onto the building that's going to go up four floors.
01:20It'll be right outside our window here.
01:21So they're actually digging up the whole front of the building,
01:24and so we haven't heard it as of yet.
01:27Nick, let me know in advance.
01:28Did you walk over here?
01:29Yeah, yeah.
01:30What, do you think?
01:30I think I Ubered from across the street?
01:32I wouldn't put it past you.
01:33How lazy do you know that I am?
01:37But, I mean, your hotel's literally a block away.
01:39Yeah, let's just tell everybody where I'm staying.
01:41That's great.
01:42Then you want to see some creepy facts, guys?
01:45I want to tell you guys because I was so excited this weekend.
01:48I'd never, I shouldn't say no, I hadn't been to one of these in a while.
01:52It was a comic convention kind of thing.
01:55Yes, you're a comic book nerd.
01:56I like comic books.
01:58I'm getting into them.
01:59I'm getting back into them.
02:00I liked them when I was a kid.
02:01I'm more into the stuff that my daughter's into.
02:05Barbies, My Little Pony.
02:07No.
02:08You're into them?
02:08It just got creepy again.
02:10Yes, no problem.
02:12I like to comb their hair.
02:13My Little Pony.
02:14You know what they call those bronies?
02:16Yeah, I swear to God.
02:18Is there such a thing?
02:18I'll get into it.
02:19I got no problem.
02:20It's a legitimate fetish.
02:21They're called bronies.
02:22Not that there's anything wrong with that.
02:25Hey, Jerry, what I was going to do there was going to get real creepy.
02:29So, this one was called Ace Con, all right?
02:33Arizona?
02:34No, it's a national thing.
02:35I think they might do one in Philadelphia too eventually, but they go all over and they
02:41do major celebrities from the movies.
02:43Yeah, yeah.
02:43So, Tom Hiddleston was at this one, who was Loki.
02:47Yeah, we love Hiddleston, yeah.
02:49Oh, he's incredible.
02:50And he's nicer in person than he is as Loki, first of all.
02:53But he's so nice, but he comes up.
02:56I don't know if they...
02:57I can never tell this because he was so smooth and so incredible and so British that he comes
03:03over and he knew who I was.
03:05And that was one of those moments I'm like, well, this is pretty awesome because my daughter's
03:09like, huh?
03:10Well, he's an impressionist as well.
03:12Oh, he was great.
03:12So, he's got to know your stuff.
03:14Very, very good.
03:15Yeah.
03:15He comes over and he's talking about...
03:16But he has the one-up.
03:17Like, he's friends with Jeff Goldblum.
03:19So, he's talking about Jeff Goldblum.
03:21Yes, he's doing this.
03:22He's like, he'll come over and he'll be like, how are you?
03:25Good.
03:26You look great, Tom.
03:28You really do?
03:29That's when you meet people too.
03:31It's like that.
03:32So, we're going back and forth, me and Hiddleston, Tommy, is that what they call him?
03:38Tommy and I are going back and forth doing Jeff Goldblum.
03:42We're doing some Pacino and stuff like that.
03:43It's like, whoa, he does more of the Scarface kind.
03:47But, so, we're doing that and my daughter's like thinking this is the greatest thing in
03:52the world.
03:53And so, that wasn't even the end of it.
03:55So, I want to tell you about this thing too.
03:57So, they take pictures with people.
03:59Like, you can pay.
03:59It's expensive.
04:00Like, it can be for like, you know, a couple hundred bucks.
04:03Yeah.
04:03But, you're going to get a frameable quality photo.
04:07More than that.
04:07It was incredible.
04:08People were bringing props.
04:10People were bringing birthday cakes, fake birthday cakes.
04:13Wow.
04:13And, he was doing all of it because it's an expensive thing.
04:15It's like Wizard World here.
04:17Yeah, it's very similar.
04:18I think it might be from the people who created it.
04:20It probably is, yeah.
04:20There's something.
04:21I'd heard that as a rumor.
04:23So, they're doing that kind of a thing.
04:27We keep running into him.
04:29And, Hiddleston walks up behind me at one point, who towers over me.
04:31I'm 5'6".
04:32He's 6'2".
04:33He's like, I heard you do a Tom Hiddleston impression.
04:35I'm like, no, I don't.
04:36But, I do do the Beatles.
04:39That's what it turns into.
04:41So, then, a guy comes in and he goes, Frank.
04:44And, we're in the back area.
04:46Because, originally, I was just going to stalk everybody with my daughter.
04:51But, try and be nice.
04:52You know, you guys know what that's like.
04:55He's looking at his stalkers here in the studio.
04:57You do that thing where you respect everybody's space and stuff like that.
05:02You do.
05:03So, we didn't ask for any extra pictures or anything like that outside the times we were supposed to.
05:08And, this guy comes and he goes, Frank.
05:11And, it's Todd McFarlane.
05:13Oh, wow.
05:14Spawn.
05:14Spawn.
05:15And, baseball collector extraordinaire.
05:17Yes.
05:17And, he sits down and he starts talking.
05:20Who's this?
05:21This is Juliet.
05:21Hey, Juliet.
05:22And, he starts talking to my daughter.
05:24He starts saying, so, I was, I actually have this on video.
05:27I'll show it to you.
05:28I don't have, I never asked him if I could share it with anybody to play.
05:32But, he says, I created a character called, you ever hear of him, Venom?
05:35So, I was drawing and he tells the whole story of how he created Venom.
05:38Which is, basically, they wanted him to, and I've never heard this story before.
05:44They wanted him to draw the black costume Spider-Man.
05:48That was where it was at that point.
05:50Right, right.
05:51He's like, I don't want to draw Spider-Man.
05:53I can kind of do his voice.
05:54I don't want to draw Spider-Man.
05:56I don't want to draw him in a black costume.
05:57Red and blue, right?
05:59Right.
05:59And, my daughter's like, yes, yes, it's red and blue.
06:01And, he's like, so, he starts drawing it there.
06:03And, he starts going to it.
06:04He's like, so, the reason Venom's created, because I didn't, I was stubborn.
06:08I didn't want to do what they wanted me to do.
06:09I was like, and he.
06:11And, that was the genesis of the character.
06:12Yeah, that's what it says.
06:13He's like, we'll make a villain.
06:15He'll be the black character.
06:16And, then, the red and blue will be Spider-Man still.
06:19We'll all be happy.
06:19And, that's how it turned out.
06:21Yeah, it's surreal.
06:22Did you watch The Family Guy this past weekend or the weekend before with Peter goes to the
06:25White House and works in the Trump administration?
06:27No.
06:28It was a funny episode.
06:29But, as you can imagine, it skewered Trump a lot.
06:32I thought that it was you.
06:33I had to watch the credits.
06:35Because, it sounded like your impression of Trump.
06:37Which is a relatively easy impression, I think, to do.
06:39Yeah, I don't think it's very hard.
06:40And, I think that because of how easy it is, people think that just doing the impression
06:44is funny.
06:46When that's not the case.
06:46It's not.
06:47Right.
06:48And, you've always done this.
06:49It's tremendous.
06:50It really is.
06:51There's a lot of people.
06:52A lot of people that are talking about my impression.
06:54Here's the thing.
06:55You guys do a great job.
06:56This is probably the number one show I'll be on right now.
06:59And, let me see if the ratings are going through the roof.
07:02Not even just the roof.
07:03Through the stratosphere.
07:04And, Space Force will probably find them.
07:07But, we'll talk about this for a second.
07:09What were we talking about?
07:10Doesn't matter.
07:11It just got better.
07:13My stuff is silly.
07:14My stuff is silly that people who are on one side or the other, they go, oh, that was
07:19great.
07:19I had that happen years and years ago in Texas.
07:21I was doing George W. Bush.
07:23Yeah.
07:23And, they're like, you do, the people who want, out of the same show, people go, you
07:26must really love him.
07:27That was great how you did that.
07:29And, people, other people walk out and go, you hate him, don't you?
07:32And, I was like, you decide.
07:34You decide.
07:34That's what you want.
07:35If you're listening to me for politics, in this venue, you're in the wrong.
07:40But, if you're able to nail it both ways like that, then you hit it.
07:44That's how I want to do it.
07:44Yeah.
07:45And, for me, there's enough out there for the people that are pro this or anti-
07:49this that, what am I going to do, add to one of those sides?
07:52That's our philosophy.
07:52And, I don't even believe that I would go.
07:55There are things, I think, that happen that are okay, that are good, and that are bad,
07:58and awful.
07:59And, it all happens, and it's whatever.
08:02I feel like, eventually, it's going to work itself out one way or another.
08:06But, if people just scream and yell from the rooftops, it just makes other people mad.
08:10Yes.
08:11And, that's where I come from.
08:12Besides that, Preston and I are big fans of dystopian future movies.
08:16Those are cool.
08:17However it breaks.
08:18Yeah.
08:18Whether we're fighting vampires or zombies.
08:20Whatever it is.
08:20Or, whatever.
08:21Or, maybe we're a mailman, Preston, like in The Postman.
08:24Yeah, yeah.
08:25Listen, my friend Rick and I met up with a lot of people.
08:28You just stab them in the brain.
08:29That's what you do.
08:30You don't grab them by the you-know-what.
08:33You stab them in the brain.
08:34When you hear that sound, it's tremendous.
08:36It gets really, really great.
08:48To be...
08:49I'm going to go to the I-m-m-m-m.
08:50I'm going to go to the I-m-m.
08:51I'm going to go to the I-m-m.
