00:00This particular pitch, I think it was the game we played against Sunrisers a couple of weeks ago.
00:09So we know the pitches are here pretty consistently and we're expecting them to behave probably similar to Sunrisers game.
00:16Obviously we've prepared and practiced for that.
00:19You'll see us practicing in the centre wicket, which is only two or three strips away.
00:23So we're expecting them in similar conditions.
00:25Do you think that the ball will be done in this event with the women's cover of grass?
00:29Well, I mean, you know, we talk in meetings about the ball spinning or not and it's very difficult 24 hours out to decide if the ball is going to spin or not.
00:36You know, obviously we've got two, three, four of the best spinners in the world.
00:39And so they'll get, they'll maximize any spinners in the conditions of the pitch.
00:43And when they're out there, the guys will recognize that.
00:45The spinners communicate really well during the game and they'll discuss amongst themselves whether they feel the ball is spinning and how to bowl appropriately.
00:52I mean, yeah, there's, there's so many battles within a battle in a game.
01:15Obviously Rashid Khan, we all know is a, you know, world class bowler.
01:19We're pretty comfortable with all the spinners we have in our group.
01:22And, and then so throughout the game, you'll see, you know, the, the game hopes and flows.
01:26And clearly spin is going to be a key part as it always is at Ealing Gardens.
01:30Um, you know, and we'll always back out spinners.
01:32Which team is the upper hander?
01:34What do you think I'm going to say?
01:37What would your answer be if you were the KKR spin coach?
01:40We're really happy with the spinners we've got.
01:42You know, they work incredibly hard.
01:44You'll see, uh, not only economy, strike rate, wickets taken, uh, consistently performing well for us.
01:50And, you know, and obviously we're doing, we're doing okay as a team this year.
01:53And, you know, the spin bowling department is clearly part of that.
01:56And obviously we're here and we're probably going to talk about spin,
01:58but also we're a bowling unit as a team.
02:00And, you know, maybe the spinners are bowling the power play,
02:02maybe the middle, maybe some of the depth.
02:04So I think, you know, the captains use the spinners very wisely throughout the whole competition.
02:08Uh, and yeah, but we're pretty happy with the spinners we've got
02:11and how they're performing.
02:13Yeah, I'm Zafar from.
02:17Did you really, uh, analyze what went wrong with, uh, against Punjab?
02:22And we are looking forward in an interesting battle
02:25between Quintet and Dukok and Mohamed Siraj.
02:28The reason behind losing to Punjab.
02:31Um, yeah, in terms of reviewing games, the games are reviewed the same way,
02:35whether it's a win, loss, draw, etc.
02:37So, honesty, um, the players talk about where they were at, their plans,
02:41did they, did they hit their plans or not?
02:43Um, so in terms of that review, it happens consistently.
02:46And I think it's important as a team, what you don't want to do,
02:48is if you win, you're the best team in the world.
02:50If you lose suddenly, it's hours and hours of meetings.
02:52And I think the best teams in the world remain consistent all the way throughout.
02:56And, uh, we certainly review the same every game.
02:59Sure.
03:00Um, I mean, Quintet is one of the best players in the world.
03:05So, you know, it always exciting to watch Quintet play and play so positively.
03:10He's put the balls in the pressure throughout the whole tournament.
03:13So, yeah, we're all excited to watch Quintet play.
03:16Carl, this is Shomik from Ravesports.
03:21What does the team talk like after the game against, uh, Punjab Kings
03:26and how difficult it is for a team to get such a defeat out of their system?
03:32Um, so as I mentioned just previously, the reviews are exactly the same.
03:36You know, people honestly will have small reviews as a team.
03:39It's important not to get too high or too low in, in, with wins or losses.
03:44If you look at that game, if you think about that game, you know, we bowled incredibly well.
03:48We shifted them to 112, I think it was.
03:50And actually halfway through our innings, we were still well on top.
03:53Maybe it was the last part of our innings that fell away.
03:55So if you overanalyze too much about a quarter of the game
03:59and not think about the first two thirds to three quarters when we performed very well,
04:03you sort of find yourself in a hole.
04:04So remaining consistent in terms of your approach, in terms of your mindset,
04:08staying positive, I think is a key element to, you know, elite sportsmen.
04:12And we're no different.
04:13Hi coach.
04:15Hi coach.
04:16Shubhayan from Ref Sports.
04:18Coach, we saw Abhishek Nair joining the support staff yesterday.
04:21So what has been the initial communication with him in terms of the coaching staff?
04:25And of course, with the player, the initial impact of Abhishek Nair returning to KKR?
04:29So obviously, Abhishek's been around the franchise for a long time.
04:32A very popular member of the coaching staff and the players communicate with him regularly for a number of years.
04:38So it's great to have Abhishek back and no doubt have a positive impact.
04:41The players certainly appreciate all the support it gives them.
04:44And it's great to have him back.
04:46And what sort of impact do you think Abhishek Nair can make in the remainder of this tournament?
04:51A very positive one.
04:52Obviously, last year we were, you know, champions as it sits and he was a difficult part of that.
04:57You know, he speaks incredibly well about the game.
05:01You know, he's got great connection in relationships with the players.
05:03And I know they're delighted to have him back with KKR.
05:06So he'll be a big plus to have us on our side.
05:10Coach, my name is Kuntal. I work for Jio Hotstar.
05:16So my question is, after this ball change rule in this year's IPL,
05:22do you think spinners are doing more and more and almost in every venue
05:26because their role has increased and they're performing almost in every venue?
05:29So are you happy to see this change?
05:32Yes, certainly. I mean, there's obviously some grounds that have due, some don't.
05:36But certainly where the grounds there is due, it certainly advances to start with a newer ball again.
05:41I think it sort of evens the playing field.
05:43I think we've all seen scores continue to rise over the last two or three years.
05:46So any opportunity to make it a little bit more even, the contest more even,
05:49I think every cricket fan supports that and certainly you want an even playing field.
05:53So I think the spinners appreciate the opportunity to be able to showcase their skills and be more even.
05:59So there's no chance in the world I'm going to talk about the team 24 hours.
06:13Good question. I like the question.
06:14I like the question. But I think that, I mean, you know, the team's obviously very secretive and everyone will keep that under their hat till tomorrow.
06:23But the one thing I would answer the question with is that I think we've got a fantastic squad all around.
06:28And I think that at any stage, any one of our players can come in and make a telling contribution to the squad.
06:35It's great to have them all there. They train incredibly hard.
06:38I don't know if you guys come to watch any of the training, but the guys who are not playing are trained just as hard as the guys train.
06:43And I think the head coach, mentor and captain know that at any stage if they're called on, they're ready to go.
06:50It's Arup Chatterjee from Midday Newspaper.
06:53See, there's a lot of talk about the spin attacks, especially with the KKR, which has a tremendous spin attack.
07:00But, you know, GT, they're coming on the back of the performances of players like Prasith, Prasith?
07:09Krishna. Krishna.
07:10Krishna.
07:11KKR player.
07:12Yeah, he's a former KKR. And he's wearing the purple cap at the moment, I think.
07:16And then you have Siraj, who sort of made a huge comeback.
07:19Yeah.
07:20He's breathing fire. And Ishaan, of course, with all that experience.
07:23So, what are your comments about their base attack, you know?
07:28So, obviously, they're at a flying high at the moment. You know, we respect them as an opposition and not fear them.
07:34And, actually, throughout all the meetings, whether it's spin, batting or seam bowling, yes, we'll discuss opposition,
07:41but also we have to make it about us, you know, what we're doing well, you know, all of our players,
07:45when they are playing well and they're, you know, stick to their routines and they're playing positively,
07:50it doesn't really matter too much who you're facing a lot of the time.
07:53It's actually, if we're doing our job well, if we're preparing well, if we're assessing the conditions,
07:57whoever's bowling, it doesn't really matter. And I think that's what we'll strive to do as a team.
