00:00Yeah, I mean, we're now six weeks on from that famous Oval Office encounter.
00:06I mean, it needs no further explanation.
00:09And just going back to why President Trump might now be lashing out once again at the Ukrainian leader
00:16in terms of trying to understand the back story and the logic and the rationale for it.
00:21Could he be angered at the lack of progress on the minerals deal?
00:26Because as you've been saying, you know, he's got very much America's interests, you know, first and foremost on his list of priorities.
00:32And that's understandable since he leads the country.
00:35But do you think he's he's angered that that minerals deal isn't perhaps shaping up as quickly as he'd like it to?
00:43You have to say, I think this minerals deal was a complete red herring.
00:47The only minerals deal that actually Trump is interested in is potentially one with Russia.
00:52Make it clear. And I've spoken to some Ukrainian MPs about this.
00:57There is a lot of mineral wealth in Ukraine, but a lot of it is now in parts of the country,
01:04which are underneath ordinance, underneath munitions and so forth, unexploded bombs.
01:10So and also Ukraine went through a long period, decades, where it was run by oligarchs.
01:17And their vision was simply to make more money.
01:20The idea that they would miss an opportunity to dig down in the ground, to take advantage of that mineral wealth.
01:27It means that any extraction today would be very, very costly indeed.
