The contestants in this episode are Robert Bates & Lisa Brain from the West Midlands, Carol & Stewart Ferguson from Kent, June & Carl Lyon from York, and Mikayla & Leonard Defeori from Bedford. Bruce Forsyth hosts with help from Rosemary Ford, who here plugs her latest music CD with help (or hindrance) from Brucie. Among the games are learning to cook prawns, fit a cricket bat handle, put up a tent and Guess the Famous Face in their childhood days before the final pairs face off in a Royal Marines brass band march drumming. If the games don't sound particularly inspiring today, then it's not so much the quality of the games as the fun that comes from seeing the contestants trying to do them. Again it feels as if Challenge TV has edited some of this, especially in Brucie's banter with the Japanese cook Murutaki Muruguru, but as this is the only copy out there (unless someone has an old recording of this somewhere) this will have to do. Enjoy.

03:30Hello, Thomas, Edward
03:32That was a brain wave
03:35Right, now
03:46You're married to John

03:53We went to Hawaii
03:57For three weeks
03:58Oh, how lovely Hawaii
03:59Very romantic
04:00Very nice
04:01About a week into the honeymoon
04:03Yeah
04:04John developed this unexplainable rash
04:06All over his body
04:08Oh, no
04:08Yes
04:09Oh, what bad luck
04:10Yeah
04:10It was the 4th of July
04:11Yes
04:12So we couldn't find a doctor
04:13American Independence Day
04:14Well, you didn't need a doctor
04:15You needed a brain surgeon
04:16Mrs Brain
04:21Right
04:22Right, go on
04:23So when we eventually found one
04:25It cost us about £75
04:26For some ointment
04:28Oh, yes
04:28Put some ointment on it
04:29Yes
04:29And he was told to rest for a week
04:32Oh, dear
04:32What bad luck
04:33So, yes
04:34And did the hotel have groom service?
04:39Groom service
04:40Yeah
04:40Right
04:41And he had his rash
04:43So he went there
04:44He went there
04:44All Hawaii 5-0
04:46And he came back
04:47One of the untouchables
04:48Right

04:54Robert Bates
04:55That's right, Bruce
04:55Robert Bates, I see

05:00Ladies' Hairdressing Salon
05:01That's right

05:20Permanent wave
05:20Right, now
05:21What's the salon called?
05:24My own name, Bruce
05:25Robert Bates
05:25Robert Bates?
05:26Yes
05:27I mean, it should be something continental
05:29Like Hair by Robert
05:31Excuse me
05:33Where is this?
05:34Where is your
05:35Just outside of Birmingham
05:36Sutton Coalfield
05:37Oh, you're right
05:37Call it Robert Bates
05:38Yeah
05:38You're married to Margaret
05:44And she's your receptionist
05:45That's right
05:46Oh, good, lovely
05:47And on the eve of your wedding
05:48Your best man had a good idea
05:50They always do
05:51They should always mind their own business
05:53What happened to you then?
05:54Well, we both decided that
05:56Like all grooms do on the eve of the wedding
05:58They're going to look very pale the following day
06:00Of course
06:00With a worry and all that
06:01A bottle of heat and
06:03Heat and
06:04Yeah
06:04And I didn't read the instructions
06:05Apply carefully
06:07So I just slapped it all over my face
06:09And it developed in about six hours
06:10And of course
06:11I woke up the following morning
06:13And looked in the mirror
06:13And I'd just got a face
06:15Full of orange and white stripes
06:16Yeah
06:17Orange and white stripes
06:19All over you?
06:19Yeah
06:19So I walked down the aisle
06:20And turned
06:21Um
06:22My bride saw me
06:24And
06:24Oh, what is she?
06:24Nearly passed out
06:25Yeah
06:25It was dreadful
06:26Anyway
06:27Yeah, bad experience
06:28I bet
06:28I bet you were a tiger at night
06:30All those orange stripes
06:34Anyway
06:34Lovely to have you with us
06:36If you'll just pop over there
06:37We'll meet your adversary
06:38Give me that
06:40She can sing this kid
06:46She can sing
06:47I'll tell you
06:47Go on
06:48Away you go
06:48Our second team's from Kent
06:50Their mother and son
06:51Carol and Stuart Ferguson
06:53And you're just there
07:03Hello
07:03Welcome
07:04Welcome
07:04Now it's Carol Ferguson
07:06You're a cashier for a garden centre
07:08That's right
07:09Is there anything in the garden centre
07:11That would remind you of me at all?
07:13I would compare you to a sunflower
07:15Oh
07:16I'll settle for that
07:18Yeah
07:18You have a lovely sunny face
07:20Oh
07:21You're tall
07:22Slim
07:23You're elegant
07:24The birds all love you
07:27Jessie, did you hear that, dear?
07:31Jessie, take notes, yes?
07:33The birds all love you
07:34Yes
07:34But you quickly go to seed
07:36I wish I hadn't have asked the question
07:48But that was lovely
07:49You've been married before
07:51Oh, I see
07:51You've been married before
07:52And you have four children
07:53Have you got a boyfriend now?
07:55Anybody you're...
07:56Boyfriend?
07:57Yeah
07:57Well, he's almost 60
07:59Can't be a boy
08:02Well, I didn't think there was an age limit
08:05To how an older boyfriend had to be
08:07I mean, surely you can still pull
08:09When you're a pensioner
08:10I hope so, anyway, you know
08:14Yeah, what does he do, this, uh
08:18This, this, uh
08:19Old boyfriend
08:20He's a used car salesman
08:23Oh, is he?
08:23Oh, a used car salesman
08:25And how long have you known him?
08:26About nine years now
08:27Nine years?
08:28God, blimey
08:29That's a long test drive
08:30Has he given you
08:32An M.O.T. yet?
08:35Over to your son, Stuart
08:37And you're a double glazing installer
08:39And a surveyor
08:40Tell us a little bit about, um
08:41Anything that's happened to you
08:43Because there must be loads
08:44Well, there was one
08:44And we was, uh
08:45Working on a flat in Elskool
08:46In Elskool, yeah
08:48Getting down to work now, huh?
08:53Never believe it
08:54He usually talk so nicely, haven't he?
08:56Down Elskool
08:57It's nothing to do with me
08:58Nothing to do with you
08:59I don't think he is there
08:59Anyway, go on, away you go
09:01And, uh, we finished the flat
09:02And Julie got his money
09:04And ready to leave, isn't it?
09:05Yeah
09:05And gone down the bottom of the stairs
09:07And the front door slammed
09:08The old door slammed
09:09The front door, the flat slammed
09:10The toilet door
09:11And the window fell out
09:12How'd you go and fit in?
09:15So you went for the grand slam
09:17For the sale?
09:18You chose your mother to partner you
09:20On the generation game
09:22Because she's mad
09:22Yeah
09:23Well, that's not a nice thing, is that?
09:25But things always happen to her
09:26Like once when she had a couple of friends
09:28Decided to sail to France
09:30In a small yacht
09:30Set off from Chichester
09:32And the weather turned stormy
09:33Well, what happened to her then?
09:35Well, she's suffered a bit from a sea sickness
09:37Oh, I see
09:38So she's gone downstairs for a nap
09:39And went to sleep?
09:40For a nap, yeah
09:40Woke up in the morning
09:41She's all at this lovely sunny dock
09:43And more than that
09:44Yeah
09:44The lads are asleep
09:45She thought, I'll surprise them
09:46So she's gone off to get some croissants
09:48From the patisserie
09:48Yeah
09:49Walking up to y'all
09:50See this bloke
09:50She said, uh, excuse me
09:52In funny French, yes
09:53He's like, bad French
09:53Excuse me, in bad French?
09:54Yeah, that's it, all right, yeah
09:56And see
09:56Yeah
09:57That's that one, innit
09:58That's Italian
10:00I'm showing up
10:00It's quite English, isn't it?
10:01Yeah, yeah
10:02I think, uh
10:03She's gone up, she's gone up this fella
10:05Get to the story
10:07Get to the bloomin' story
10:08He said, I don't know about that, love
10:11But there's a baker's round the corner
10:12And she said, you speak very good English
10:15He said, we all do on the Isle of Wight
10:16No!
10:18She was on the Isle of Wight
10:19No, you'd be
10:20I'd be lucky to get a croissant there
10:23You'd be lucky if you got a Derek
10:24Donut
10:25They even charge you for the hole there
10:27Sorry, Isle of Wight
10:29Didn't mean it, just a joke
10:30Don't cancel my visa
10:32So anyway, thank you for being with us
10:35We've got a game coming up very, very soon
10:36All right, down in Olds Court

30:44I wish
30:44I'm going to say
30:45Typical bank clerk
30:46Not to see people waiting in line
30:48One day walking home from work
30:51A van full of workmen
30:53Drove by
30:53And one shouted
30:55Oi darling
30:56Oi darling
30:56Pointing to your skirt
30:58What was all that about?

36:35Because it looks very light
36:36How much does it weigh?
36:37It's about four kilos
