Military says communist groups won't impact midterm polls in WVisayas

Brig. Gen. Michael G. Samson, commander of the 3rd Infantry Division of Philippine Army, says on April 11, 2025 that communist terrorist groups will not have a major influence in the conduct of the upcoming midterm elections in Western Visayas. Comelec-6 Director Dennis Ausan said the Regional Joint Security Command Center (RJSCC) was 100 percent prepared for the upcoming elections, citing that the activities are still within the schedule. Ausan said that they were done with the training of poll workers, support staffs, and board of canvassers.

00:00The ongoing operations against Citi and the communist terrorist groups are still ongoing but we don't see any in the future or in the upcoming elections we don't see that it would affect the conduct of the elections.
00:21I cannot assure that there are no encounters because we are still running after the remnants of the CDGs here in Panay, Region 6.
00:36There may be encounters but we should be ensured that these clashes between government forces and CDGs would not affect or would not affect the conduct of the elections.
00:55To the level of preparedness, I can say we are 100% prepared based on our timeline.
01:03We are right on our timeline.
01:05If you based on our timeline right at this moment, a month before election day, we are already within the schedule set before.
01:15So, 100% so far we have delayed preparations not only in the RGACC of the security aspect of the conduct of the elections but even in other matters we were in fact done.
01:36Now with the last training of our poll workers and that includes not only the teachers will be manning all the electoral boards at the polling places comes election day but also we have already trained those support staff that will be partnering with them.
01:57The EV support staff, the technical support staff and just this week we have already wrapped up the training for all the members, all the boards of canvassers.
02:08So, it's just a matter of exactly how we are talking here, the deployment of the cabinet as I have explained because those are the things we are going to cover in the remaining 4 weeks towards election day.
02:20So, as of this point in time, we are right on track, we are right on schedule, we are within the schedule we set, we are 100% ready as of today and how I wish not we will not incurring delays as we approach the day of day.
