IPL 2025, SRH vs GT: Speaking to the press on the eve of SunRisers Hyderabad's home game against Gujarat Titans, assistant coach Simon Helmet said the surrounding chatter over them breaching the 300-run mark is just outside noise and there is no added pressure on the team. SRH have flopped as a batting unit in IPL 2025.

00:00I think the plans be very similar we've had some great success here at home I
00:05think we've won six out of our last eight matches look obviously you know
00:10the last couple of matches haven't been great for us but we look forward to
00:13playing still a positive brand of cricket still remaining very confident we
00:19know we have a very good squad we're very well led and we look forward to to
00:24getting a win against GT in front of our home fans okay the opening has been a
00:30problem for the last three matches how tough it is on head and Abhishek Sharma
00:34will they be under any extra sort of pressure to give this match after three
00:38losses oh there's pressure every time you play whether you've been successful
00:41the game before or whether it's a new match but both Abby and Travis have had
00:46a great success together and so we look forward to them still having a very
00:51aggressive approach at the top obviously we had some good reflections
00:55since we've arrived back here in Hyderabad and and we look forward to a
00:59positive result tomorrow I haven't seen the pitch so far I've come to see you
01:14guys first but we know the facilities the ground here often can be very
01:19friendly for batting I was seeing some big scores obviously our first score of
01:23the season was you know past 280 we scored 190 in our second match here so
01:30look we know that you know you need to be batting well you need to be batting
01:35positively but also you need to be bowling as best you can and as precisely
01:39as you can to try and restrict oppositions and and obviously if you can
01:44support that with some excellent fielding you know you can be in a good
01:47position to win did the team have a say in the preparation of the pitch because
01:51there's so much of talk about other franchises actually I'm unaware of that
01:55we just want a good cricket wicket that's going to be excellent for us to
01:59play a positive brand of cricket obviously entertaining for our very
02:04loyal fans but I'm sure it's going to be a fair wicket for both sides hi Sam so
02:10just on the pitch part since the wickets here have been very good for
02:15batting well I think the conditions in Vizag and Kolkata still showed you can
02:25make some make some big scores obviously we didn't bat so well against Kolkata
02:29but I think across across the country wickets are very good it's just whether
02:35very good means 280 or very good means 180 but you know we'll all remember the
02:42days back when I first met you guys 140 was a winning total many moons ago in
02:472013 whereas nowadays it seems yeah wickets are fairly flat the scores have
02:55certainly incrementally increased and so that's certainly put greater pressure on
02:59bowling and fielding teams but also for batters to assess what is a good score
03:06how hard to go and and what sort of score you might need to make to get a
03:11whip be a winning total
03:19this point in time we haven't had any discussions regarding what our team
03:23makeup will be we'll get through training this evening and then
03:27obviously we'll decide on what's going to be our best combination back here at
03:33home in Hyderabad against a strong GT team
03:36hi the season started with talk of 300 being breached and then there were two
03:42matches where 200 was not crossed and then 120 in the recent match two
03:47questions one has that added pressure on the team on the batters and what has
03:51been the mood among the batting unit going into this match okay so answering
03:55the first question there's always pressure on teams but certainly not
03:59added pressure so the discussion of making a 300 plus score is is outside
04:06noise it's not something that we discuss internally but we know that we have a
04:11quality batting unit hasn't quite worked out for us the last two matches so we
04:16look forward to to getting those sort of results we did in the first match and a
04:20majority of the matches that we had here in Hyderabad last season and the
04:25second question was yeah mood in the camp is very good it's always an
04:33advantage when you have such calm leaders in Daniel Vittori and Pat
04:36Cummins there's been lots of good what I'd call organic conversations between
04:42batters bowlers and us as a fielding group and looking at ways and
04:47investigating ways in which we can improve collectively and also
04:51individually so we've had those conversations throughout our time away
04:55and since we've been back we look forward to the finishing touches here at
04:59training tonight and and putting on a big game in front of our home get in
05:03front of our home crowd tomorrow I think spin always has a role it's just a
05:12matter of how many spinners and how many overs they bowl it can pretend depend on
05:16situations and and who we're up against obviously they have a strong spin part
05:23of their game too so well I think that'll be an important part and how the
05:26game plays out
05:37now I think that's he's in really good bowling form it's been fairly unforgiving
05:42in the venues that we've played at and we're playing against some really good
05:46opposition but I think as a as a collective being more precise with the
05:51ball is something that we're going to work on and look to develop because as
05:55we know out here in Hyderabad is very unforgiving you can just be off a
05:59fraction and and the ball can sail so I think we're realistic but also you know
06:05had some really good conversations about how best to bowl what are our best
06:09deliveries against this opposition
