00:00It's usually known as the Beef Capital but it's all about the burnouts here in Rockhampton
00:06this weekend for the state's biggest motoring festival.
00:10So over the next two days the city will be filled with car fanatics who are here to catch
00:16a glimpse of the street drag and burnout competitions and they'll even see a mullet competition
00:23as well.
00:24So I spoke to a couple of people who have travelled up from Brisbane to be here.
00:29Unfortunately one of them had cut his mullet off ahead of the weekend so won't be able
00:34to take part in that competition but he's got plenty to look forward to anyway over
00:40the weekend.
00:41I've come up here for my son's first time, he's just got himself a car so thought we'd
00:45do a boys trip so all the dads can come up with their sons this time so yeah just come
00:49up and have a look and why not, first time it's pretty good.
00:52Yeah the burnouts are great, I love the burnouts.
00:56I love the amount of cars, a variety of vehicles here today and motorbikes and just the spirit
01:04of the whole thing.
01:05People from all over the country have travelled here for this event and we're even seeing
01:10some international visitors who have made the trek this year as well.
01:14There will be an increased police presence here this weekend to keep the crowds safe
01:19and while they say the burnouts are exciting they are encouraging visitors to keep that
01:24to the professionals.
