00:00the assignment.
00:02Yes.
00:03Senator Schumer, and feel free to answer this too.
00:05It's simple for Senator Wyden.
00:06President Trump recently announced an extension
00:08on the TikTok deadline.
00:10I was wondering if you all had any reaction to that.
00:15My reaction is very simple.
00:16He knows what trouble he's in with tariffs.
00:19This is what he always does.
00:20He creates a diversion.
00:21All he did is extend the 75 days.
00:24He didn't make a decision one way or the other.
00:26But he is so, he knows the American people
00:30are so hostile to what he is doing that he always
00:33looks for a diversion.
00:34Sometimes it's Greenland.
00:36Sometimes it's the Gulf of Mexico.
00:38The diversion today was TikTok.
00:39Do you want to say something?
00:40I would just say he's so desperate.
00:45He's flailing around.
00:47He's just lurching from one thing to another.
00:51I mean, under normal circumstances,
00:53when you do something colossally bad,
00:57you try to fix that problem.
00:59I mean, this is somebody who said yesterday,
01:02after the market crash, and he's asked about the tariffs,
01:06I think it's going very well.
01:08So he is the all-time leader for somebody in politics
01:12being out of it.
01:14And I share the leader's view that he's flailing around,
01:17looking for a diversion, and that's where we are.
01:22One other thing, when he thinks about the bad news
01:26that he confronted this week was what happened in Wisconsin,
01:30and what happened in those tightening in those Florida
01:32races, and what happened the week before in Pennsylvania.
01:35This is not small ball stuff.
01:37In Wisconsin, 10 counties that went to him before
01:41went to Judge Crawford.
01:43In the rural areas, and I was in some of them on Saturday,
01:47in the rural areas, there were counties
01:50on the Minnesota border that are pretty conservative that
01:53flipped 15, 20 points.
01:56So it's not that hard to make the through line
01:58in an election that was very nationalized, right?
02:02It wasn't about which judge had the best qualification.
02:05I believe Judge Crawford did.
02:07But it was about Elon Musk.
02:08It was about what's happening out there.
02:10And in the rural areas, trust me on this,
02:12because I've seen them come out in our rural areas,
02:15it's just about the havoc, the chaos,
02:17the fact that they have nothing to depend on anymore.
02:20They are social security dependent, a number of them.
02:23But they are also dependent on a farm economy that works.
02:27And he has done literally everything
02:30he could to put that economy that's already difficult
02:34into turmoil with these tariffs.
02:36In rural or suburban counties, the American people
02:39are getting wise to him.
02:41Every day, they see how bad he is for them.
02:44Every day, they see how he's broken their promises.
02:48And he sees it on the side of the billionaires,
02:50not on the left.
