With councils potentially losing government funding for not meeting pothole targets, do you think this will lead to better roads?

00:00That's fair enough. I should probably get on top of that.
00:02I try to go roller skating and I just fall down the posh step.
00:07The council's corrupt anyway, so it doesn't matter how much funding they get taken away
00:12from them, they just get a bunch of things that they want, rather than actually like...
00:15They've had this money for years now to fix potholes,
00:17and when was the last time you saw a council fixing a pothole?
00:20They just stand about on the side of main roads, that's about it.
00:21It's the same with everything, they get funding and it's not going where it should.
00:24Right, even this past week there's been a massive increase in the construction work,
00:29just because the councils need to justify their funding,
00:31so they do everything just before the end of the financial year.
00:33It's all loophole, so they'll get the funding taken away from them.
00:36So there was an issue of certain potholes. I live near North Road,
00:40so there was where the Fighting Cocks is, there's that slope that goes up.
00:43That road was, I wouldn't say in bad condition, but it was deteriorating.
00:48But for the past couple of weeks there's been construction going around there,
00:52you know, redoing the entire pavement, things like that.
00:55So I think there are steps being taken to improve, at least in my area.
