00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World, my name's Theo Huston-Burts and today's video is all about this weekend's Manchester derby.
00:06That's right,
00:07this is the weekend where Manchester City and Manchester United face off this Sunday the 6th of April.
00:12It's a massive battle for bragging rights between noisy neighbours,
00:15and so we figured we'd throw together a little preview for you. Now firstly, looking back at the season so far, neither club has
00:21particularly impressed.
00:23Manchester City are the better of the two, they're currently sat in 5th, or were at the beginning of this week at least,
00:29which is still a massive drop from last year. At the start of this week,
00:32they were 22 points away from Liverpool, who sit pretty at the top of the league, and are not guaranteed a spot in Europe with
00:38eight games left to play, a startling drop off from last season. Manchester United have been pretty awful, actually.
00:44Despite manager Ruben Amorim being pretty popular since replacing Eric ten Haag, there's been no real improvement on the pitch.
00:50They sit in 13th, 30 points away from top spot and 12 points away from the Champions League spots.
00:56Now, they have had some injuries this year,
00:58but not enough to warrant this form over such a sustained period of time.
01:01This could really be the first chance for Amorim to make a statement with a victory.
01:05Now, City are favourites in this match, and for them, all eyes will be on Nico O'Reilly.
01:10The academy product came off the bench against Bournemouth in the Cup last weekend, and had a massive impact going forward,
01:15helping City win the game. It could be that exact youthful exuberance
01:20that's needed to lift City out of the mire of this disappointing season.
01:23Now, for Manchester United, Mason Mount is well worth watching.
01:27He returned midweek from another injury, which he's had desperately bad luck with since joining Manchester United from Chelsea.
01:34We know exactly how good of a player he is, and he should embody the desire that Amorim requires from his players.
01:40Who do you think will win the match? Let us know and follow Manchester World for more.
