00:00Analyzing the knowledge, habits and false myths related to the well-being of dogs and cats,
00:09deepening urgent issues such as the most common pathologies, specific diet and veterinary care.
00:15This is the goal of the research conducted by Royal Canin, always committed to promoting a pet-sized world,
00:21in collaboration with SWG, out of 800 owners of dogs and cats.
00:25The results of the report highlight a growing attention from pet owners towards the well-being of their four-legged friends.
00:3389% of the interviewees, in fact, are more attentive and 83% consider the feeding of their pet as important as their own,
00:42but there are also many areas on which it is necessary to make greater clarity.
00:46There are some bad habits that can be improved.
00:50For example, 42% of the interviewees declared that they would choose pet food for their pet,
00:56considering only the tastes, which obviously do not always translate into the right food for their health.
01:03And 27% of the interviewees declared that it gives food surplus for their pet.
01:10In this case, these bad eating habits sometimes also lead to the discomfort of the pet,
01:16so much so that more than 6 out of 10 have manifested symptoms of discomfort,
01:21especially related to the gastrointestinal system and weight problems.
01:26In this case, the role of the veterinarian is increasingly central,
01:31who is asked for advice from 71% of the pet owners,
01:37to have advice on food, nutritional plans and to whom they rely.
01:44Nutrition is also of fundamental importance for the health of animals in all phases of life.
01:50Starting from growth, there cannot be a correct growth
01:54if the animal is not adequately supported with a specific diet,
01:58up to the maintenance of the adult phase,
02:02with the awareness that the owner must have, for example, in the management of a correct weight.
02:07Obesity is the first and most important nutritional pathology,
02:11up to the elderly phase.
02:13The elderly animal has different nutritional needs,
02:18and therefore has specific nutritional requirements.
02:22Fortunately, our animals live more and more,
02:25their life expectancy has increased,
02:27so it is important that the diet supports them throughout their life,
02:31even in pathological conditions.
02:34There are many pathologies for which nutrition plays a fundamental role in therapeutic management.
02:40For over 50 years, Royal Canina has been committed to the development of food
02:44to meet the various needs of pets,
02:46as it firmly believes in the importance of nutrition for the well-being and health of four-legged friends.
02:52Everything we do, we always do it in collaboration with experts in the sector,
02:57veterinary doctors, breeders, specialized shops.
03:00We firmly believe that increasing the owner's awareness
03:06of how important nutrition is, can really have an impact.
03:11And therefore, even events like this,
03:13in which we all analyze, in this case a research
03:16that speaks precisely of the owners, of their awareness,
03:20and we somehow resonate with what they do, what they feel,
03:24and how we can also improve their experience and awareness,
03:29can have an impact on the health of our beloved pet friends.
