Potentially a little mist and low cloudy lingering through the morning along north sea coasts. Any fog patches over central and eastern England quickly melting away however to join the majority of the UK in bright and clear conditions. Remaining breezy across the south and southwest of England. Feeling fresher in these areas but overall a warm start to April. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 01/04/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Alex Deakin.

00:00Pinch-punch 1st of the month April starts as March ended. In fact all of
00:05March was pretty dry and pretty sunny and that's how much of the next few days
00:09are gonna go. It's a bit grey and murky over parts of central and eastern
00:13England. A few fog patches but they're melting away fairly rapidly this morning.
00:18Maybe a little bit of mist and low cloud at times on some of these North Sea
00:21coasts. Certainly a bit more breeze blowing again across southern England
00:24and South Wales that'll make it feel a little fresh. Most places enjoying a fine
00:29and sunny spring day. Certainly a sunnier day for much of Northern Ireland
00:33and Scotland compared to yesterday. And temperatures will be higher too across
00:37the northwest of Scotland. The Highlands may be the warm spot today 1890 perhaps
00:42even 20 Celsius. Feeling pretty warm too for North Wales, northwest England. With
00:46a breeze in the south it'll feel a little cooler here and certainly a
00:49little fresh on some of those North Sea coasts. And that's going to be a feature
00:53of the weather increasingly as we go through the rest of this week too.
00:57So will those largely clear skies. Certainly overnight tonight it'll stay
01:01pretty clear. Maybe a little bit of mist and low cloud sitting over some
01:06hills. But generally clear skies through the night. Still a bit of a breeze
01:10blowing in the south that'll keep the temperatures a little higher here. But
01:14with some shelter with the lightest winds over the heart of Scotland we
01:17could certainly dip down close to freezing through some sheltered glens
01:20down to two or three Celsius in towns and cities five to six further south.
01:26A fresh feel tomorrow morning just like this morning. But again for most another
01:31sparkling day of spring sunshine. Perhaps a bit more of a breeze around
01:35the coast of East Anglia and up towards North Yorkshire. That will be noticeable
01:39on the coast itself. And again a cool feeling breeze across the south. But
01:43generally temperatures just ticking up a little higher on Wednesday. More widely
01:47in the mid to high teens. But cooler on those eastern coasts with the breeze
01:53coming in from the North Sea. Notice some low cloud lurking there out in the
01:57North Sea as well. That could just start to drift in under the influence of high
02:01pressure. The high that's around at the moment actually gives way to another one
02:05building from the north. And as that does so it allows more of a flow to come in
02:11from the North Sea. So that could draw in a little bit more of a chill and
02:15certainly more low cloud by Friday. Small chance of a shower or two in the
02:18southwest on Thursday. But otherwise a lot of dry weather through this week.
